Need a decent low level spear

I'm level 17 or so at at the end of Act I. I'm still toting around a very lame spear that's very slow and does like 1~8 lightning damage. Wooo.

Anyone know where I could try and dredge up something decent to tide me over for a while? I'm willing to grind for it, for sure.

Try farming the Gorgons at Parnassus. There's a rebirth well shortly before you enter. Kill the 3 gorgon bosses and clear the cave. You can sell at the vendor right outside the cave. I got a Shiverblood that way, along with other good dexterity-based equipment.

Free to a good home? I was about to start a new Warden and they'd be a great start. Unfortunately I lost my best items when my character corrupted, but I have some low level things to trade from my lvl18 Champion.

Unfortunately, I passed that spot before the Gorgons and activated the next well. Unless... is there some way to activate old wells that I'm not aware of?

Restart from Parnassus and power-grind through. Since you are working through areas at a higher level, you can pretty much 1-hit everything.

Unless you get lucky and find some cool blue spear, like shadowsting, you should do some shophunting for cool green spears which you can socket with relics as well. Based on your level you'll soon start getting "slow" ones in the shop, find a slow green spear with some cool mods, like lifeleech stuff and then socket it with whatever you feel you'r lacking, speed, manaleech, dmg etc. Might take awhile before you start completing relics tho..but not that long.

I've been playing while checking this thread, and I've just been running past the enemies instead of fighting... so I've actually made about 7 gorgon runs so far and haven't gotten a single green or blue. I did notice a few green spears in the first Egypt city though, so I'll check the shops some more like you've suggested. Thanks again.

I found some good loot while clearing all the undead in the ruins there between the rebirth fountain and the Gorgon. It's a nice run thru there if you don't mind taking more time.

The Gorgon can also provide a +1 to all skills bracelet (stonebender's cuffs) as well. +2 in Epic and +3 in Legendary I am told.

don't put a life leech mod on your spear. it doesn't work on undead and you kill mobs too fast anyway.
