Storm/Nature or Storm/Earth

I've just started and have been focusing on Storm Mastery for the moment. Do you think a Storm / Nature caster character can survive especially on Legendary and Epic difficulties, primarily depending on Heart of Oak, Regrowth, and Briar Ward / Sanctuary for survival?

Or would this still be too difficult and a tank necessary (Core Dweller of the Earth Mastery line), considering that the Core Dweller and other pets scale with difficulty, and I don't think the Briar Ward does (nor is it affected by Heart of Oak, or healing, etc.).

Briar Ward is considered a pet, so, yes, It scales with dificulty...

I was thinking about a Druid Build like that, after I finish the game with my summoner... a lone mage blasting everything on his path, with no one to defend him, only his spells... it's cool... you'll get Plague to diminish mob's resists, while the wisp increases your damage, making you a real killer.

as for elementalist, I see some overlap in the skills, and not much synergies between the two masteryes... however, I've heard that u need a tanker pet in Epic and Legendary...

I, by myself, would go for a Druid...

Someone at the Nature section actually swears by Briar Ward as well so I guess it can be viable as an alternative to a Core Dweller... Let's see what happens. You've just motivated me to try it out and not go the easier Core Dweller route!

tank your druid. Im currently using a druid and cruising through just because my character is a tank and I put a lot of points into storm surge and heart of the oak. It seems to be effective with my wisp and Nymph just plucking away and doing decent damage.

I'm a druid and that combo works just fine. I don't use briar ward myself at this point but I have seen it used in legendary and it seemed to do the trick so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a viable option. You also have the wolves if desired but you're talking about massive amounts of skill points to max them out.

I got a Storm/Earth guy but so far I'm only delving into Storm atm, Lightning is very cool except for the cooldown anyways how does one go about building one?

If you have enough -100 recharge gear may I suggest you go druid and clear mobs faster than any other build in this game. Briar ward + plague + squall also means you are nearly unkillable in pve and pvp.
