I am only level 11 and the quest to get a olive brance as a gift is too
much for my character. Let me ask this, level 11 enough to kill this
bugger?? Or,maybe from your experience a trick or two???? Big blue
spider wipes me out very quickly. Tried several things oh about a zillion times. lol

11 seems about right if memory serves. I'd get some poisen resists if she is beating you down quickly.

Level 11 seems a bit low, try going through the game a bit slower. I remember doing the Spider Queen at lvl 13 or so I believe :)

Your level will make no difference ... get some poison resist gear.

its just a battle of attrition. Sit there pounding on your drink health potion button and do some damage to the spider. When it starts doing more damage than your potions can heal, run around for a bit and heal to full then repeat. We could probably give you some more valuable tips if you mentioned what class you were playing.

I killed her at 9. It's not so much about level, but rather what you're quip'ed with. Mind you I ran out of her aggro range about 3 times because I was getting whomped!

I really don't think there are any mobs in Normal that you need +poison resist gear for.

As rainchaser said, it would help to know your class. I don't recall ever having a problem when I had pets (Lich King and especially Core Dweller being the best for this). Then I tried with a hunter, and although I didn't die, it was the closest I came in Greece. I kited it for quite a while.

I'd have to agree with this, the melee Gorgon Queen and the Giant Beetle are about the worst the game throws at you, and with full negative resists potions will still save you in normal.

Have to vote for kiting.
I also made sure to kill all the spiders in the surrounding area so I had safe places to run :)

I run her with all my characters around level 9 and die occasionally but she's definately doable.
I reach her around level 9, then run her until I'm level 10 then move on.
Any Hunter based class can just cast the Herbal Remedy on themselves with one or two points to neutralize the poison pretty much, then just kite her from range.
I always take out her adds as soon as the pop up though, I think they do alot of damage or drain your mana or something, but I never let them live long enough to find out.
With Warfare builds I just warhorn as soon as the adds pop up and one shot them, chug potions, run away when I get too low...refill then go back in.
With nature builds my wolves dont really stand up to her and they like to drag along "friends" from the spider camp below when I'm running to her so I don't even bother summoning and just try to take her out.
To sum it up, kill the adds asap, then kill her, toe to toe or kite her whatever, then just run back a bit and dodge her poison bombs while your health fills up to full, then go back in. Rinse and repeat, she's kind of squishy but you gotta watch your health when it gets low, she can finish you off with the easy if you're not paying attention.
I've done this with 13 characters now. All at level 9 except maybe my first two, with whom I explored the map more and might have been higher level but don't remember.

I found that I had to ditch my first character. I was pushing the Earth build to get a Core Dwellear ASAP. And thus, I had no fire power.
I ditched that character and focussed on dealing damage NOW, rather than later.
Doing much better. The previous post to this one is great advice as well!

Just a quik tip...
I killed her around lv 10ish. I just had to pound pots and stay out of her poison cloud. If you are just standing in the poison cloud your most likely gonna die. I farmed her a decent amount at that level. She wasnt hard and had decent loot.

Just hit her until she rears back; that's when she's about to spit a poison glob on you. Run away and dodge the poison glob, then resume your attack. It should only take a few repetitions. Ignore the other spiders she summons.
This is the earliest farmable boss in the game; I loaded up my character in Epics on Normal with the spider boss, and I'm going to try and squeeze at least one Legendary out of her tonight.
