Damage reduction?

Ok, I have found a hood that is good for casters. The question come from a 5% damage reduction that the hood gives. Does this mean that all damage, phyical, piercing, etc. are reduced 5% or is it just the physical damage? Oh yeah, it isn't too bad either. Would you believe that I found 2 in the same chest.

I would say it is any damage.

Hmm, I would guess it was physical damage specific.
