I was curious, when you use a portal and you see the map of the area you are in (ex. map of Greece in the demo), it shows along the right side the possible destinations and on the map itself you can see settlements which obviously correspond with the destinations on the right. I think I can figure out which ones are which, but in the final game, will there be some sort of highlighting that will show which settlement on the map you are selecting from the destinations on the right? And will they be labeled on the map?
In MP games, is it possible to use portals of other players via the portal shrine?
So, let’s say you just have created a level 1 geek and stand in Helos. Will it be possible for this character to use a portal of another player who is currently in the last act of the game and has created a portal somewhere in this last act?
Do these foreign player-portals show up in the map screen or are all activated portals of other players also (temporarily) activated for characters which haven’t visited these areas yet in this MP game session?
Or in other words: Is it possible in MP games to tug newbie characters with veteran characters easily through all acts of the game via portals?
The Portal Map:
In the final version of the game, mousing over the portal icon will indicate the portals location on the map.
In a multiplayer game it is possible to use another players portal. There are some restrictions - you cannot teletport to another act unless you have unlocked it yourself. We wanted to give players the flexibility to quickly teleport to each other to make it easy for people to group up once they join a game. The flip side is that you can teleport a new player to a more advanced area of the game and try to "power level" them. It will obviously be very dangerous for them. We felt the ease of grouping was a far better win for the majority of players than restricting teleport use in multiplayer.
Thanks for the answer!
I don't do this "power-levelling" but could need the extra inventory-bags for my item-mule characters.

Greetings:
Keep in mind that the extra inventory bags are quest rewards for advancing the main quest, so if you want them for mule characters, you may still need to do some work to acquire them.

What happens to those bags when you got them all and start a new game in higher difficulty? Do you start with just the normal inventory or does one keep the three extra bags?
It would be illogical and unforgivable if characters can’t keep the extra bags with all their content on higher difficulty grades.
The same quests in the higher difficulty grades will simply don’t provide the bags as rewards anymore.
You retain your three extra inventory bags when you move onto the next difficulty level.

But can we get a second Horadric Cube though? ;)

I want a Horadric Tesseract!
When you use your portal while you are wearing the right items, from a mysterious list of recipes (which is officially given anywhere but people with no lives will figure out and post on the web 10 minutes after the game is released), you transmogrify into a giant mutant creature on a whole new map!
And your weapon is replaced by dessert topping!
