Has there been a mod or is it even possible to restore the original Titan Quest character selection screen? It looks so much nicer than the TQ:IT one (imho).

Don't think so. Immortal Throne has its own screen which was, presumably, changed when they upgraded the game. The only way to use the original TQ screen would be to start in TQ, make a toon and get him to the rebirth fountain in Helos, save and come out of TQ then go into TQIT so the new toon can be imported. It's a bit cumbersome, but would work I think, if the IT screen bugs you that much.

I tried that but it doesn't change anything, just imports a character into TQ:IT. EDIT: It's not about character creation, I just wished for the looks of the old screen, because the TQ:IT one is a boring non-descript green background mess.

Well, there might be a way. I can't check if I'm right, because I'm not at my own Computer right now. It might be possible that there is an background file somewhere in the games' Arc-files. If that's just a simple picture, then it should be possible to replace the IT one with the TQ one...

I'll have a look at it this evening (~6 hours), if I don't forget it ;)

It really looks like the menu.arc is responsible for the layout and such, but it contains meshes and textures. I can't make use of either one. You could try swapping the menu.arc files, but I highly doubt that it would work, as you probably would have to make changes to various .dbr flies in the database.arz to make it work. Sorry, that's over my head :(

That's a bit more complicated but not impossible to solve. Maybe I can recreate the Menu arc for TQIT in TQ style, give me some time. Do you want to restore the UI look too?

/Sorry for doppelposting\ Here it is: The Menu.arc that will make your Charselectionsscreen look like from original TQ.

Installation:
1.Go to your Titan Quest immortal Throne installations folder.
2.Go to the folder "Resources".
3.Go to the folder "XPack"
4.Replace the menu.arc with the menu.arc you download here:

Thank you, Elfe! Only a few days ago I was thinking how great it would be to see the original TQ player screen in IT.

Your welcome :) You should try the mix between tq and tqit menu, on the screen it doesn't look like what it is if you run it in the game. (I put in the post above a link to where you can get it) I also use the mixed screen from tq and tqit, when you run it in your main menu it looks much better than on the screen, with the special lights and background moving.

Even, go in \Titan Quest Immortal Throne\Videos and rename TQLegal.bik (like TQLegalBAK.bik)
You can do the same for bik files in \Titan Quest\Videos, save don't touch its TQLegal.bik.
Now you start directly, fast, and TQ-like in IT.

Very small corrections of the Elfe installation text (or maybe you use a special langage?):
2.Go to the folder "Resources",
3.Go to the folder "XPack",
EDIT: Ok, solved

Woops, some writing mistakes, sorry. Already corrected them. To what Vifarc said: Sure, you could play whole TQ in TQIT with other players and the tq map not tqit map, if you'd modify the right files or copy and overpast them. But some of them, like the menu arc, are other built in tqit than tq only. The problem the copy and pasting with menu.arc is, that the files inside have other names and the tqit game only reads those and don't know the names from tq, so you need to rename them to the right names and compile them again to "overpast" it.
