For those who haven't heard of Grim Dawn yet, it's a game that's being created by some of the former members of Iron Lore. They've been working on the game from 2009, unpaid. Now that Kickstarter has succesfully raised money for DFA and Wasteland 2, they decided to take that route as well. Unlike DFA and WL2 though, they can show in-game footage for the game that they've been working on for the past couple of years. They have been communicating a lot with the fans for the duration of the game development. This here (http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3235&highlight=planning) is my favourite post, where they adress where they are now. They've also posted several screenshots (http://www.grimdawn.com/media_screenshots.php), music (http://www.grimdawn.com/media_music.php) and videos (http://www.grimdawn.com/media_videos.php).
Grim Dawn is based on the same engine as Titan Quest and fits in the same genre. To me, it's basically an enhanced version of Titan Quest and I consider it to be TQ's spiritual succesor.
As I said though, they're working unpaid and they can really use some money their way, so I want to ask you to consider supporting them. You can do that either by prepurchasing the game on their site (http://www.grimdawn.com/contribute_buynow01.php), or purchasing it via Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn?ref=live).
Their Kickstarter project (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn?ref=live) just went live.

Over $400K today... and all the work I did to reinstate my Paypal was "useless" as the kickstarter uses Amazonpayments... at any rate, reserved myself the Addon and Beta access for a measly $45!
Hrm... contributers at the 1000 and 4000 mark? Must be nice :)

Hey, don't put yourself down essjayhm. For every $1000, $4000 and $8000 contributor there are hundreds (and thousands) like you and me who are putting in the smaller amounts and pushing the final total up and up. It's the little contributions that are the most vital in a project like this. The big backers have only pledged a total of $20,000 between them while the lowest tier of $18 has pledges to the value of $78,822, way past the big boys. So congratulate yourself on backing a great project, no matter what amount you were able to afford.

Hehe, I meant nice for Grim Dawn :P
But, yeah... great point, Medea... and it looks like they should reach the half-million dollar mark... $478,475 and 9 hours to go!

They've explicitly said that it will be and that it will include modding tools. It actually sounds like it will have better mod support than TQ had.
I've had my pre-order in since the beginning of 2010, but I threw in a little extra for the Kickstarter. It's like I get to collect loot already even before the game is out by getting different in-game badges and stuff every time I throw money at my screen. Heh.

Same here. I like boxed versions of games (I'm old-fashioned) and I definitely wanted the Will-o-the-Wisp to light my way at night because I hate fighting in the dark.
