I want to make a character that relies and skills only on pets. I am thinking of going Nature for wolves and Earth for Core Dweller. What do you think? Is he the best shot you have for a pet build character?

The only ''petmaster'' that I took to Legendary was a Ritualist, I really like to be part of the action lol. I stopped playing with it because it was VERY easy, the most difficult thing was farming for +skills. Highly stat free, so you can wear Int gear and Str gear (Leg SBC). Mastermind + maxed Wolves + ToC was just unfair.

I am not that experience so I don't really understand. Which masteries combine ritualist? Mastermind is a skill? and what's Toc? xD Eventually, is a Nature, Earth good for a pet master?
Thanks :D

Nature + Dream = Ritualist (http://www.titancalc.com/TitanCalc.asp?mastery=Ritualist&master1=4&master2=9)

ToC is Trance of Convalescence (Dream mastery see Frojak link). Earth and Nature (Summoner) can be played as a petmaster with some hard hitting skills (Eruption) which should help a lot with Normal while your pets aren't at full power hehe

With which mastery should I start if I go for Summoner?

We once tried a "Zero Kill" game.
You know that when your pets make a kill it doesn't register on your Monsters Killed count, right? Well, I joined a MP game and killed everything for my mate until he could summon his first pet, then I left him to it. It was a long time ago and I can't remember how far he got, unfortunately.
This thread just reminded me of that game, that's all.

If you want the pets immediately, go with nature first. If you want a few attack skills early on and a pet later, start with Earth.

Note that wolves are worthless in acts 3 & 4 normal, and even the Core Dweller is hopeless in Act IV. So you will need VO (or Eruption, or whatever) to get you into Epic. Once in Epic your pets will rule from then on. I think a Ritualist is better than a Summoner for a pure pet build, because the Nightmare boosts the wolves in ways that the Core Dweller can't, but both are fine from Epic onwards, especially if you have lots of pet-boosting jewelry and a decent staff. Ritualist's charm of Convocation, anybody?

Does Dream provide pets or only support spells?

Dream has a pet, damage spells, defensive spells, passive buffs, and support skills. It is pretty much an allround skill tree, a good secondary for almost any other tree.

It's also pretty good for trying the old, "How far can I get with just one Mastery" game.

nature dream and nature spirit are mostly the best pure petmancer builds (dream with nightmare, thrances and mastermind)( spirit with lich, outsider, dca and dc)
earth and storm gives a pet, but they rely on more then that, as eruption,vo,squaal, shards, the thunder skill(forgot the name) etc. earth enchament works on pets, but the storm variant not.
