What is that Hades attack ??

I gotta know !

I'm going into Legendary Hades with a solo melee toon for the first time (although I have a caster I can farm him with).

I enter the place, run up and start whacking the bum.

He extends his hand and kills me outright !! Wahhh !

After the long trot back, I re-enter and kill him.

But I need to know .. what is that deadly attack ??

It can't be a vitality attack as my toon had 85% Vit resistance and 5400 Life.

Please help, I gotta know ....

It is a one-shot move on most characters and is dreaded by many dudes here especially at x3 Hadesfights.Hades deals massive vitality and physical damage. I think even a hint of cold damage. Your Vit resistaces are sweet, but, just sayin, it caps at 80% so anything above that is not counted. Stockpile some physical resistaces as well. It is kinda easy to rack up as most melee armors has phys resistace bonuses to them.Hades usually or always casts this at the beginning of the fight or if you are at long range from him. Just do a quick sidestep upon going in the chambers, then whack him senseless

I had some reasonable resistances, 50% average across the board, with 200%+ stun res. I made a ring to give me the 85% vit res from a legendary Demons blood, but I swapped it with a Mark of Ares, reducing my offence, not my resistances, for the final fight.

Whatever it was it hit me in melee, I could not have sidestepped it unless there is an animation cycle to spot.

I've also seen something kill legendary characters farming in epic hades this way, even when charging in in colossus form, so it packs one hell of a wallop.

If it's the Red Ball of Death, it's a fairly slow attack that he only starts if you're out of melee range. He lifts up his hand, then I think turns it over. When it hits the ground, it splits into about 10 missiles fanning out, so the only times I know I've died to this I was coming towards him, he started the attack, I was in melee range, and then he dropped the Red Ball on my head. Presumably, you get hit with all 10 attacks at once. I've been farming non-Xmax legendary Hades, and make sure to avoid that particular attack.

It's vitality damage, that's the problem. First off, the secondary resistance table is bugged, it shows resistances >80% even though they are capped at 80%. Second, vitality damage resistance is hard to come by and is only ever debuffed by that kind of resistance (and the very rare total damage debuff) so armour and shields offer no protection.

It is, all in all, very nasty indeed and you should try to dodge it unless you have a heap of life steal (AD2H, not the nigh-useless life leech). Incidentally, this is the same kind of attack that the three sisters use.
