Hey everyone. I just recently started playing TQ again for the first time in a couple of years and I wanted to get some advice for a ranger that I just recently rolled up. The current build looks approximately like what I linked above. The wolf was useful when I got him at level 8 but he barely dents mobs anymore all the sudden and I'm not sure if I should start leveling him up, or If I should keep adding to the hunting tree by either maxing out the current 3 dps skills I've already invested in, or level up its mastery and get new ones. Of the 3 DPS skills I have, which ones are the most important and which should I max first? Please tell me what you think of my build and if I should change anything.

Also, I read somewhere that it's usually better to start out with bows at first. Can anyone tell me why that is? I never used bows as a hunter before.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Were you using 2 wolves? I mean, did you summon two? They really helped me till Athens, where I took the 6 points of them because I was already standing tall against mobs.

You could remove the points from Take Down, unless you have a really good spear, but Ranger for me is bow all the way.
IMO only one point in Art of Hunt is needed at this point, maybe around Megara I believe? Your damage is low, low %
Wood Lore is a given, max it :D

What you REALLY wanna max, if going BOW is Scatter Shot/Volley/Puncture leave Markmanship at 1 point. 1 point Study prey is also enough till later in the game.

Also keep in mind that at this point, low level, the skill tree points are more important than maxing 3 skills. You get the Attribute points boni and use top skills early on.
