Chests...

Does anyone know if certain chests give better items? The reason I ask is that I have seen the normal ones floating around, but I was wondering about ornate chests. I got a ring in one that was significantly better than anything I have seen drop or can be bought.

This isn't knowledge, but it's a guess based on observation: the more impressive chests appear to drop more items, giving you multiple chances to acquire phat lewt. It may also be that their treasure class is higher, but that could be my imagination.

Cool, that is what I was thinking/hoping. I seem to get better stuff from the ornate chests above majestic chests.

Where do you find Ornate Chest? I know I've seen them before, but this morning I went from Helios to the centaur boss and didn't see any.

To V...sweet, that is what I was hoping! I didn't want it to be just a really nice looking chest with junk...:razz:

To D24e...I have only seen 2 ornate chests in all the gameplay that I have done. Consequently, both were beyond the skeletons at right before you get to the Spartan Camp.

I'll check that place more often then, I always see a majestic chest there.

There are always 2 ornate chests in the area behind the centar boss nessus.

There is also an Ornate box that always spawns at the back of all of the skeletons.

And an ornate box in the cave in the first area when you leave Helos.

Interestingly enough.. most all of the blue items that I have found have come from the chest behind the first shaman boss you fight. Maybe just dumb luck.

I noticed that in some locations the chest move around to random locations. Also, multiple chests have popped up in locations that on other runs only had one, like at the back of the ruins to the SE of Spartan Road.

It usually had only one Majestic chest back there, and once popped up with 3 chests, 1 Majestic and two ordinary wooden chests. And the wooden chest contained a rare (green) piece of loot.

Hmm, I have still only seen ornate chests past the skeletons mentioned above. But, there are a ton of majestics around. I have never seen an ornate chest past Nessus. If you have, more power to you.
