I got jealous of the master storylines I've seen in these forums, so I decided to create one of my own. I'm writing this as I play, I'm no master author, and I'm trying to work on the idea Violos had for a Freddy Krueger build. Whatever happens in the story is being written as I play, though these first 3 are somewhat detail-less since I started writing after I'd done it. From Sparta onwards, everything is real-time. If you have suggestions, questions, skill point inquiries, or anything, go for it.

Dear Diary,
I’ve been training my body and mind for a while, hoping I might finally make a name for myself. So I got on a boat to Helos, which I heard was being attacked, and hoped for the best. A few hours later, I arrived to see a man waving at me, and upon talking to him, he warned me of all the troubles happening ahead. I knew how to fight, hack and slash with my Copper Knife, I had no worries. I ran ahead, and when I saw these ugly beasts hitting a pretty horsie, I just went crazy. :mad: I stabbed the one with the weapon first, then took out his comrade, and impaled the nasty pig last. I looked over the fence, saw more charging into the town, and without saying a word to the horse’s owner, ran over to help the guards. They knew what they were doing, but I got a few smacks in too. I ran over to this guy, he was obviously rich, since he was clothed so well. He’d know what was going on. He told me there was some sorcerer lighting things on fire out in the farms. So, I decided to take him out tomorrow. However, it didn’t stop me from cleaning out a few pastures, and getting more experience with my weapon.
Happily, I remembered to study in my spare time, and learned a trick my master used to show me. Now I can call upon ripples of energy out of this world, since life is only a dream, after all. :D
P.S. The picture of my master in that book really creeps me out. Why does she wear that freaky horned headdress? :(

Dear Diary,
I went to sleep, and when I woke up, there were more monsters out in the fields, and worse, there were 4 times the amount! I’m so glad the energy wave is good for area attacks, or I’d be toast! It’s still kinda weak though, it only slows down most of the animals. Pigs hardly flinch at it. I need to study more, once I clear this place out AGAIN.
Ok, I got some more knowledge of the wave in my mind, but it takes sooo much concentration… I get tired after shooting out just 4 of them. It’s all I can do just to keep shooting this crappy Broken Crude Bow I found yesterday. I need something more comfortable if I’m going to recover my energy faster. I’ve heard staves work well.
Got a staff, it’s even made of ash, and the merchant says it shoots fire when I flick it like a wand. Sounds fun, and I feel a lot lighter, so I can focus on my wave shooting now too. I ran past all the dead bodies and objects, and saw a bunch of those things running away from me before I could Wave them. Eh, I just followed and ran around until they clumped together, and then shot them into the sky. When can Satyrs climb trees so fast? When they’re dead. And it flopped around. Ew. Then I saw not one sorcerer, but 3! That stinking fat rich jerk! He lied to me! He said there was only one! Sure, all of them died after I hit them twice with my Wave, but still, I was offended that he manipulated me like that. The treasure chest they used to hoard all of their stuff was full of crap, greaves I couldn’t wear, a spear that was too unwieldy for me to like using. I put them in my purse and ran back to sell them. Good thing I worked out so much in my hometown, I’ve been doing so much cardio, it’s like I never stop running! I talked to the fat guy, gave him a piece of my mind, and he gave me a little money for what? Risking my life to save his @ss. I deserve more. Oh, and my brothers told me they’d send me some super stuff in the Caravan, but so far, I can’t use anything the caravan man says is available. I guess I’ll have to wait a while.

Dear Diary,
Day 3, and I love this. My wave is super strong now, nothing survives it, and it’s so much fun to herd the idiots around before I turn around and blast their gaping faces. But really, it’s not so rewarding when you stub your toe on all the Broken crap that is on the ground afterwards. I guess I just hit them too hard. I felt kinda good today, I got to save a cute guy in a cave, but he was a coward, couldn’t even hold a weapon, so I couldn’t take him with me. Afterwards, I saw this guy getting attacked by more Satyrs, and man, that guy could take some hits! I was spying on him for about an hour, and he just kept on standing there, smack after smack! He has some extreme Health to manage that! I ran in, Waved goodbye to some lookouts, and saved him. When he said “I was in a bit of a scrape there” my first reaction was “Duh?” But that’s nothing compared to the idiot I found later. Oh but I found a set of greaves over in a haunted graveyard! There’s a nametag on them, says they belong to Epeius. I thought, “Maybe I should return these to him” then realized, “If a skeleton was wearing these, maybe he’s dead…” But I can’t use them, so I’ll probably donate them to my brothers when I find a caravan driver.
Oh. My. Gosh. This man is sooo stupid! Ok, I cleared out a mountain pass for some potion dude, no biggie. But a short walk later, there was some guy just standing out in the middle of nowhere, with murderous crows not 20 feet away! He says “I know it’s dangerous here” “No, REALLY?” “But I can’t go.” No he had to get a necklace. His entire fortune is in one. Stinking. Necklace. Just die and save me the trouble. But no, I was nice…I went into the cave and waved down these nasty slimy green things. One went into a giant hole in the floor, That was funny. It was easy to kill their daddy, but then 2 more came out, and once again, I was fuming at the fact I was lied to AGAIN. Why can’t people be honest about how many creatures there are? Is it that hard to say three instead of one? I returned the necklace, he told Hera to bless me, and I guess she did, since I learned 2 more tricks! I can now concentrate enough to reflect parts of weapons back at my enemies, and I can also summon a Friend to help me! It’s just one small step from energy to living creature after all. He’s cute, he does so little to help right now, reminds me of how I started out. By the way, I've learned all I can about my Wave from the book, and I feel invincible.

Dear Diary,
I made it to Sparta, and its kinda hard to get used to. These guys are a bit anal. Only one had any emotion at all, and he was searching for an old man he looked up to. I guess I can help the guy out, since he seems to have a heart. Unlike that jerk who wouldn’t let me in to talk to Leonidas for reinforcements… I’ll show him who isn’t good enough…
Found out that my Pet Friend, the Nightmare, can also attract enemies close to him, and allow me to Wave the whole party goodbye. He’s so helpful, I love it! This reflecting shield isn’t doing much though. It just wears me out having to focus on it all the time… The monsters hit so softly, they don’t really bounce back at themselves too hard. I’m not using it anymore, it was a waste of time to learn.
I picked up a ring made of rubber, maybe itll help against these electric attacks I keep seeing.
I found the giant centaur, after I’d cleared out the plains, and found the old man. That was a fun fight. I tried to go all out, but he killed my pet! So in the end, I just took advantage of his fear of the camp, so every time he ran away, I’d taunt him into running face first into my wave. It was low, but still worth it. Those tough-@ss Spartans couldn’t do it. His minions were nothing, I got them as I hit King Centaur. I looted his giant chest, and found a bunch of stuff to sell, nothing to wear. I guess I’m stuck buying everything I own still.
Used that handy teleport stone I got in Helos to get back to the camp. The stupid guard finally let me through. Leonidas was gruff, but at least he was nice. He sent me to Delphi, thatll take a while. The other man with a heart was relieved that his friend was fine too. Leonidas even taught me how to study faster, but I forgot how once I left, so it wasn’t much of a help.
I wonder if I should focus more on my comfort, or on my armor. My staff feels good, but sometimes I just want to stab these beasts in the face up close… Maybe one day I’ll have time to learn the art of Hunting…

Dear Diary,
While learning how to make my Nightmare stronger, I just realized that my master’s bellybutton is staring at me. Her picture freaks me out! On the bright side, Nightmare can use a new move now! It’s so rewarding to see him grow with me.
I’m still carrying the same staff I bought earlier, but I have decided that my armor will have to be stronger, and if I get too tired, I can just rest for a while. Good thing I know my way around the wilderness. So, I beefed up my chest plate into something made of iron, and my legs are better protected too. My staff is still a real help though, I don’t want to get rid of it…
Heehee, now instead of luring the monsters to him, Nightmare is just killing them before I can! I love that little guy! Found a cave with more slimy things, nothing special in there, what a letdown.
There’s so much armor I can’t wear, but I refuse to work out. I need to be focused on my mind if my plans for the future will work, and wasting time on my muscles won’t help a bit. I didn’t realize how many potions I had too, I actually don’t remember the last time I drank a potion. That’s a major plus, I guess I’m doing something right!
I took a rest at a pretty fountain, and the monsters multiplied again! 4 times more than before! That was fun when I found some Ruins full of dead people. So many bones flying… Scared me half to death when one of the captains survived my Wave… It scarred me for life… I avoided the tomb, they hardly ever pay off, not to mention the coffins are booby trapped…
Found a giant camp set up by satyrs, I felt like I was actually moving slower with how many I saw in there. My wave made good work, but I still used it so much that I had to rest and hide from the beasts that didn’t notice a giant stream of energy destroying their brothers. Blind idiots… What’s worse? More of them are surviving my Wave. Even a Boar rider was able to take it and keep shooting… This is worrisome…
But I made it to Tegea, a small town on my way to Delphi! They’re plagued by poisoned water, but I really don’t care, I’ve had enough of helping people I don’t know. I just sold my stuff and recovered my health while laughing at the guards shooting zombies.

Yeah I've been reading the Electric Burn Thread (http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/29672-Guide-Electric-burn-DOT-mage/page5?highlight=Electrical+Burn+Damage)pretty extensively, and it seems like the easiest choice. I recently asked about a Diviner, but I was shot down (http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/29672-Guide-Electric-burn-DOT-mage?p=398694&viewfull=1#post398694). :errf:
By the way, I'm not master of forums, or stories, but is there some consideration I should put into spoilers? Some parts I shouldn't mention because of unspoken rules in this subforum? I saw mention of it while I was searching though to make sure I didn't copy anyone's work.

Dear Diary,
I’ve lost count of how many days it’s been since I started out in Helos. I get the feeling I’ll be at this for a long time. I’ve trained my body and mind so much, I think I’ll be ready to learn new techniques very soon. I left Tegea, and murdered my way through all of the swarms of birds on my way out to the beach. They still can’t stand up to my Wave, thank the Gods.
I’ve made some pretty ornaments out of all the animal pieces I’ve found though, One made of Pristine Plumage, and one out of Boar Hide. They look nice, but I wonder about decorating my armor with them yet.
Then I found these nasty half-naked cat women with a bunch of sharpened weapons… I think I’ll need to avoid being Pierced somehow. Time for dirty tactics. I’ll just let my Nightmare attract them and blast the poison wielders away… The archers are too weak, Nightmare can take them.
I found some Lizard people too, but they fly just like Satyrs when Waved at. The turtles can take 2, but that’s to be expected. At least they’re slow. It’s odd how the creatures can change so drastically from one spot to another.
Have I mentioned I hate the Undead? Some of these nasty, wet zombie things killed my Nightmare, and even survive my Wave! I’m ticked! On the plus, there was a shrine that helped me regenerate my energy faster, so I felt calmed as I killed all the dead people… What an oxymoron…
I made it to Delp-Oh. I guess it’s just a city on the WAY to Delphi… How long do I have to keep running? But the Oligarch told me to find a stick to give to the girl in Delphi, so I guess it’s necessary. He also gave me another bag to put stuff in, which was nice of him. Another man got washed ashore when his boat crashed, and some others were whining about skeleton attacks. If only these guys weren’t so weak, I’d love to take one with me. Just for company, of course!
I feel so smart since I can even use a Runed Staff now! I know I should focus on the future, when I start stabbing, but my energy is so difficult to manage… I’m sure I’ll figure something out.

Dear Diary,
OW! I was hit by a bolt of lightning! I hate those stripper cats! At least my Nightmare can dodge them! I’m just glad my ring and my necklace absorbed some of the pain, but it still hurt!
On the bright side, my abilities are branching out, since I read about how to meditate AS I run, so now I recover faster, and might on some occasions be able to simply absorb damage like it never hit me. Sadly, the meditation takes up some of my focus, and I don’t have enough energy to use my Wave as often…
I hate Zombies, and of course this ghost town is full of them. I guess I can manage it though, while I help out a city in distress. They better pay me well.
My Gods, they said there were three brothers, not 3 Sets of 3 brothers? No wonder they can’t move on, 8 siblings must have been like living in Tartarus! The up-close triplets were mean too, took about 5 hits of my Wave to knock them down… I almost ran outside trying not to get sliced up. The spell casters made my Nightmare die twice, so I just did without him. I shot my Wave through the pillars while I hid. Took 3 hits to do them in.
I DIED.
Menon, one of the archer triplets, saw me through the wall, and while I was clearing the rats out, he decided to run over to me and snipe me down. I saw a Rot Bone hero with his copies on the other side of the wall. My Nightmare was taking care of him for me, and while I watched that, I was weak to surprise attacks. So, I traversed the heavens, and landed back at the fountain leading out of Megara. I got to start the walk of shame back into the city of the Dead, after all, I have a score to settle now.

Dear Diary,
Joy to the World, the Brothers are DEAD. (For real this time) I decided to approach from the other entrance, so I wouldn’t be seen by the brothers as I walked by their wall. Then I switched my meditation focus into reflection rather than regeneration, so my new Nightmare could fly in, and start annoying Rot Bone and the Menon that got me before. Once I was sure they were busy, I just walked right up, and started blasting away. They killed my Nightie, but it was right before I killed them! I pulled another Nightmare out of the World, and set him on the other 2 heroes. Reflection did its part, and my Wave blast did its job when they were distracted. Back to regeneration, and back to Megara to announce my revenge!
The pay was nice, but still not worth a death. I vow to avoid Undead wherever I can now. No price is worth the pain.
Speaking of pain, I kept going after I left the Ghost city, and found a pretty nice group of GIANT CYCLOPSES. I saw some brave idiots trying to attack them, but I doubt they could have held off 1, forget 3! I barely made it out with my life, slobbering as potions dripped down my face trying to be swallowed fast enough. If one stunned me, another would be about to slow me down before I could run away, and then I would be stunned by the third one as I started creeping away! The bridge was worse, since they had their OWN wave that couldn’t be dodged on that stone plank! My Nightmare was destroyed in seconds… So now I have 2 choices. Either hit and run them for about 5 hours, or just run by and come back when I am MUCH stronger. I really can’t decide…

Haha yes, that is the best part. Nice to see you enjoy this. Though x3 mod with Dream spells borders on cheating. :)
As for the other thread I didn't "shoot down" your Diviner idea. I said it doesn't focus on Sands+EBD that much - because Deathchill wakes everyone, and the Lich Soul-Blights as he pleases. OTOH you get Ternion, and some other nifty skills to play with.
Anyway, keep up the nice work.
And don't worry about spoilers... most people here have seen the game. :)

I figure as long as I keep the x3 on for everything, including bosses, it's fair. I kill 3x more, they get 3x the chance to kill me. Which is obviously what happened. :(

Dear Diary,
I decided to ignore the Cyclops brothers. I have no issues with them, except the bone shattering screaming they do at me. Annoying, painful, but not worth my time right now.
After a short walk along a beastly beach, I started becoming more in tune with nature, and its influence around me. I’m officially ready to begin my training on how to efficiently hunt and kill anything. I also trained my meditation, since my energy is lacking so much these days, I’m nearly panting in exertion from the strain on my mind. My Wave is all I have, so it also got some new effects added on. I think I’m ready for the next challenge. As long as it isn’t huge and shooting waves of death at me.
Haha, crazy cat witch in a tree. No one will save you… Have I ever mentioned that poison sucks? It takes me so long to get over it, and I feel horrible. I can’t wait until I learn what herbs I can use to counter it.
Isn’t a white flag supposed to be surrender? Then why do these annoying Elder centaurs still attack me? Just another lie in my life. I’m going to become a cynic soon. Can’t believe anything you hear around here.
Well, that wasn’t nice. Fernos Charskin set my Nightmare on fire! He was in the middle of the blaze! Then my Nightmare exploded, and of course I was on fire next! If hell is that hot, count me out! Thankfully, the fire was in a small circle, so I just ran out and shot him with 4 Waves. That’s all it took. Then I had to waste more time focusing on a new pet. This is so stupid. Rumors tell of a mystical person in Delphi who can help make me stronger in my studies. I can’t wait that long though…
I made it to another small town… Yippee… At least they don’t have any issues for me to clean up.

Dear Diary,
I’m so depressed. The ease with which I killed everything in the beginning is completely gone. It seems everything can take a Wave now, and my Nightmare isn’t strong enough either… Every step is just another chance I’ll get cornered and die… All I have motivating me is the drive to make a name for myself, the reason I got on that boat to Helos in the first place. But does it have to be so hard and tiring?
Oh good old fashioned Satyrs. At least they still die nicely for us. Oh and another one had this pretty sparking bow, it reminded me of a Storm that was radiating out from it. Must be nice for someone who likes electricity. Nothing I can do with it though.
And by the way, I totally have a new power from the Dream world! I can almost literally Explode with force, and whatever doesn’t die, has to catch their breath! It is awesome! So I’m kinda balancing this new happiness with my overall depression. I don’t know what I’m feeling. Must be hormones or something.
Oh, Ew, there were spiders. I know there were a few on the path before, but this grove was crawling with them. I really didn’t want to get this stick for the girl in Delphi. Delphi. I’ll get there eventually. Until then, the battle with a giant spider queen was fun.
Oh wait. I mean THREE queens! Apparently these arachnids don’t understand the concept of a monarchy. ONE ruler! But it was simple to dodge all three while I alternately exploded and shot waves at them. It was a little fun, though quite a workout dodging clouds of poisoned air.
I picked the prettiest branch I could find, I think it was left as an offering to a god, but I needed it more. If they don’t like it, they can just kill me again.
Im avoiding all undead, so I don’t know what was going on over in a corner near the grove. Im just plowing through the valley, tromping through the swamp, and sprinting as fast as I can to that glorious city ahead of me.

Dear Diary,
Centaurs are so nasty. Every time an archer looks at me, I feel like he’s staring through me, almost looking through my clothes. Vile beasts.
I met an awesome man in the woods, and he turned out to be a trader! I was shopping through his wares for so long, I almost went broke! But all of my armor is better, and I’m back to comfort too, so my body isn’t worn out so fast.
My first impression of Delphi was that I was in the wrong place. Surely it couldn’t be damaged so badly if it was protected by a god? But as I got farther in, I realized how bad the situation was, and it only deepened my resolve to end this conflict completely.
However, the Oracle just made me more suspicious. Firstly, I gave the pretty stick to a lady outside, and walked in. Then this girl, while inhaling fumes that would choke a chain smoker, says she’s “suddenly” getting a “vision.” Then she manages to turn her “sight” into words that just happened to rhyme and flow perfectly. I think she had time to plan this, maybe she’s even in on it. Of course, then she tells me my answers lie on the other side of a mountain, and that I have to go through it to find them. Through caves that are no doubt filled with creatures out to kill me. Just a coincidence, I’m sure. Oracle, Schmoracle. I’ll do it just to expose her double crossing plot.
I found the mystic! He’s like some hypnotist of sorts, he can use energy to make you forget the skills you once knew, and that opens your mind to new possibilities! He’s a total miracle worker! Of course, he picked my pockets while I sat there drooling as my mind was wiped, but I think it was worth it.

Yeah it's completely real time, but I dont want to write an essay per entry, or I know I'd lose people. I actually tried to bring back the feel of an 'entry' on the last one, since I felt like I was about to start narrating a walkthrough. Not what I wanted at all

All righty, read them all up to now. Yeah, keep them this length per post. I think it's best this way. Besides it also makes it more realistic, that the diary has a limited space per entry and so she can't write more than that.

I love electricity! It’s so awesome, I’ve been burning the veins of any creature I run into! Spiders chase me, but they die before they even get close! Even the stronger freaks can’t take my Explosion, since I can actually tear reality, and they are stuck in time as they feel the blood boiling in their bodies! :twisted:
Ok. That was a bit sadistic. But I’ve been fighting for far too long, and this recent memory wipe kinda changed my personality too. I’m still getting used to it.
However, it is fun to just run into the crowd and Distort their entire mob into a pile of bodies. And my kinda weak wave can take stragglers. I’m worried about my energy, once I get rid of the staff (I still wanna stab the crap out of these beasts) the other weapon will make me focus on it more, so I’m going to be tired a lot more.
Oh, and in case anyone reads this later, beware of DEMON BATS, one of those little bloodsuckers was on fire, and obviously enjoying it, since he flew up and set me aflame too! I’m soooo glad I froze his body and drained his life with my electriciteeee. Sorry I like my new powers. I feel unstoppable. OH and I had an idea! I decided to go back to Megara and kill the Cyclopes! I’m obviously a force to be reckoned with now, so I figured, what the heck?
So I pulled out the stone and whooshed back to the coastal town. Diomedes gave me a dirty look, but I just flipped him off. I’ll save the world when I feel like it.
So I burned anything pesky out of my way, (apparently its not blood boiling, since those skellys just collapsed in front of me) and ran right up to the behemoths while they were killing MORE Spartans. Then I exploded, ran back, dodged their concussion-inducing scream, and hit them with my own Wave of Electricity. One Distortion and maybe 3 Waves later, and I WAS VICTORIOUS. I’d like to see Menon NOW. You’d think with 3 giants, they might have found crap worth using, but I only found a bunch of run-of-the-mill magical items in their stash. Magic is so lame. I want Godliness! :evil:
I saw Diomedes roll his eyes as I left. I’m going to come back one day and show him just how strong I really am.
However, I made it out of the cave now, and I feel like I’m on the verge of another breakthrough with my studies. I’ve been reading up on my hunting ability these days. Who knows where I might go?

Dear Diary,
My Nightmare met Algos Frostwind. He wasn’t too kind, he didn’t invite us in from the cold… He tried to FREEZE US. My cute friend just dodged his ice bolts, all 8 of them! It was simple enough to watch from the sidelines, (not getting sniped down in the process this time) But he still wasn’t wearing anything I would want.
A bit after, I found Caldor Darkbow. He was a bit harder, the cloud was sucking my Nightie dead. I got angry and exploded in his face. Archers can’t take that, I don’t care how much lightning you use.
Hylas was a nice man. He’s a coward though, so not worth anything. He’ll probably end up dead one day.
Oh My Gosh. 9 freaking snake ladies. Like 3 Giants weren’t enough.
They seemed to be on orders to guard something, so they wouldn’t go far, but I managed to get one at the end of her tether, and chugged potions while she shot my face and I shot hers. That wasn’t fun. Then I had to repeat the process with a twin of hers. Rinse and repeat a third time. And that was all of their healers. Thank the gods, the rest weren’t too hard. I still ended up chugging 19 potions of various strengths for the entire encounter. Then I noticed movement, and almost shot another Wave, but it was human. She eyed my Nightmare warily, but didn’t try to beat the crap out of it. Her name was Feiyan, and she described some Tellkeen fellow. I guess Feiyan didn’t see how I just dealt with those Gorgon freaks, one magician can’t be that hard! She’s probably going to get hurt really badly soon. She has too much of an attitude. Can’t even chat for a bit…
And I was RIGHT that oracle was trying to set me up against those Gorgons! I can’t believe the gall she had, thinking I would lose… I showed her!
Ah well I don’t care about her anymore, Im too focused on the new person to murder. I hope his blood is fresh for the boiling… :twisted:

Dear Diary,
I found the Lord of the Briarwood outside in the woods, whatever that counts for. Happily, I killed him before I got a chance to find out his actual name. Then the 3 giant limos that were being held captive by spartans were simple. 3 Distortions-in-your-face were enough for them. I don’t care for the weak idiots who can'n navigate in a swamp, so I’ll come back for them later.
Not one step into Athens plaza, and I see these ugly ratmen running straight in from the acropolis. I couldn’t have that, so I blasted the whole lot. Then I was dodging arrows, blades, and swords as I ran up stairs and killed the whole horde. It’s no wonder the city guards didn’t make it. I, however tromped on into the crypt. That’s what it must have been, considering all the skeletons down there. Then there was the master of the undead, the Scourge of Acheron himself. All 3 of him. I’ve never needed an energy drink before, but I was practically bulimic with how I was binging and purging those drinks. Rockstar, Monster, Amp, I was shooting them all down while running laps like Asafa Powell and pausing long enough to Explode in all three’s faces. My Pet had no chance against 18 minions. He was chilled to death. However, patience won out, and I freed the old dude that was in distress. I was so high on sugar and crap I didn’t even hear what he had to say. I just emptied the chests and bolted out the door he came through.
Then I saw that whiney lady again, and just did what she said, so im on the boat, and about to pass out from my energy crash….zzzZZZZZzzzz……

Now that you mention it, Wrath would have been a good idea against Alastor. Deathchill, Vitality arrow, and minions would have been cut off... Well crap. Ah well future reference I guess.
But how is it helpful to energy? It has an active cost...and no drain...? Unless you just mean conserving the amount I use actively. I guess that makes sense.

That's what I meant. Just running with ToW drops most things up to Act 3 or so, by which point your other skills are up and running. Then you can transition into max ToE instead.

Any chance you could tell how ToW does against 3 Greek Telkines? I've been running for about 20 minutes, alternately getting life zapped when I run in for a DR or not doing a lot with my DW. 20 minutes got me 1/6 on each telkine. Is this just one to go 1x on? Or am I hitting one of his strong resists?

I don't remember any trouble there, but then again it was merely one. Though I must have done it mainly with max ToW, which is convenient but the weakest option damage-wise. Having either PI or TR maxed, maybe even lucid dream, should overwhelm anything at this point of the game. Did you focus on one?
With the Nightmare to distract and your attacks hitting all three you should be ok. If it still does take longer, make sure the Limos don't get to heal them. And if you really have to, get a scroll to help you out.

Well, after the respec in Delphi, she looks like this. (Btw, I know wood lore is a bad option so early, ill fix that soon. I went broke while respeccing.) I typically am able to DW a crowd, usually archers, let the melee mob me, DR them to death, and let the recharged DW clean up. The nightmare is there just because he can dodge 75% at level 1. Good distraction.
I probably will end up going with a Lightning scroll, just to get it over with. Sucks though, since its hard to make a scroll sound epic in a diary entry.

Mat, I was trying to limit the size still, and I've set up semi-checkpoints for where I want the entry stops (aka the location where she is writing it) So you want more details? I'll do that when I start Egypt, you want gory details, environment, observations, emotions...? All of the above? I appreciate your input, esp after reading your and Wyvern's work of art. The 2 of you, and Buy4Now are definitely my favorite writers in this TQ world. Well, story writers. :lol:

Dear Diary,
I finally found someone tough enough to take an explosion to the face! Celaeno the Dark, a Harpy witch, actually took 2 before she died, I was laughing so hard because she was paralyzed in the rift in time. She was just stuck looking like a floating chicken!
I ran into a cave where an old dude was waiting, I figured there was something in there he needed. I was right. One Explosion, and a big bad spider collapsed. I grabbed a funny looking staff I looted nearby and gave it to the man who was kind enough to give me imported drinks! All the way from the middle east he says! Hope I never need them…
Then I kept running, got a little lost, but found more bad Skeletons, and 3 in particular were difficult. I sent in my Nightmare to scout out the cove, and the three meanies came out at me! They started hitting me harder and harder with each smack, so I eventually got so tired of it, I blasted out a pulse of electricity every second, and each one of them was shocked into forgetting to focus on hitting harder. After that, it was simple to Explode and Wave them away. Their only advantage was their focused attack. I get the feeling this new ability will come in handy in future battles. I prefer to meditate and recover though, so I won’t use it too much. I won’t forget that battle, it gave me invaluable experience.
Letha the Carrion Queen is a strong one too, but that harpy only took one blast to the face to petrify in time, and burn from the inside out. Tasted like chicken.
I found a large building, but there were so many skeletons, my Nightmare needed help. I was hoping there is a blessed ring somewhere that helps him more, since he typically only damages the living…
Well, my brothers finally paid off, and I found a wonderful necklace in my caravan, but they couldn’t help my pet, so I had to take most of the kills this time. On the bright side, I was harder to stun, and harder to concuss, so I could focus on my skills even if someone tried to interrupt me. The necklace made me feel like I was healthier too.
Found these metal men, they were really weak to my electricity, like they were being melted by its heat. I was happy.
I saw way too many heroes down there, it was almost a clue that I was close to something big. Hesperos was big enough. He took it like a champ. Still an easy kill though.
The ease with which I ran through the Labyrinth was amazing, almost like I’d done it 100 times before…
Ok. Yes I died again…Not my fault those traps slowed me down to glacial speeds while 3 enormous Minotaurs wiped me out. I learned the second time, to explode Near the traps, and take them out too. I’m not proud of learning that lesson the hard way.
Thankfully, there was only ONE Telkine afterwards, or I likely would have been going at his copies for hours on end. He just didn’t want to go down. His attacks were easy to dodge, unless I got too close, like when I needed to Explode near him. He wasn’t easy, but He is dead. Then this old man nearly had a heart attack right after I save his life, so I got worried about my efforts going to waste. He gave me another bag, (not designer though, dangit) and told me to get on a boat to Egypt.
:knockout: I’m on the boat now, and all those potions are coming back up. I’ll write more after I can stand again.

Tbh, your skills do look a bit messy. I presume you would have an easier time with just max PI or TR or ToW and lots of running in between (or shooting your staff into their faces, too).

Dear Diary,
Egypt is so freaking hot…I found Imhotep, he was wearing some robe that must have been roasting him alive…He told me to find a scroll so we could talk to the gods, and I would be able to retire from fihting. But first I had to fight to get there. There are jackal-people here, and they are furry, yet they seem more at home than anything here! They die like Satyrs though. I like to walk around with a constant flow of electricity coming out of me. I can literally run in circles around something while they fry. And of course the idiot soldiers around here are weak. One wuss wanted me to find his precious weapon! How do you lose a weapon around here, and survive? Then there was the librarian. I can’t blame him, he’s not supposed to fight. The old fart was probably lucky his teeth didn’t come out when he was chased.
The Scarabs were simple, but I wonder how they know what to guard? Who is giving them orders? I just had to hide in a corner once I ran out of potions, letting my meditation recover me. Then I brought my focus back into my anger, and ran back out to hit them again. I had some close calls, but hey, don’t we all? Grabbed the mini scroll, cuz it was tiny compared to the ones I see vendors selling.
The dune raiders are such idiots. Don’t they know that my power comes from a plane where they are weak? Demons can’t survive in the dream world, they must eventually die, hence ‘waking up’ kills bad dreams. I utterly destroy them with my powers, and they hardly touch me.
Vultures are just mean. It seems like they hit my pet every time, and he just can’t dodge them at all. They must’ve killed about 5 of them. Then I explode in their faces, and they die without thinking. The sandwings are much the same, but they don’t kill my Nightie as often.
I found these beasts in a cavern, and I heard from a fat guy in a canyon that they were legendary. Legendarily stupid! It was so easy to run in circles and let them drain their own lives away from my aura. Total idiots. But I spent my time in the cave studying, so it wasn’t a complete loss. Now I’m in the floodplains, and hoping I won’t be swimming soon.

Tbh, I've never had a character beat Legendary. And I've never respecced in my life until now. I'm just that kind of player. I'm sure if I were given a step by step walkthrough of skill points, I'd be fine, but I like to have options. If I can't get close for TR, I need range. But TR is stronger and freezes. Not to mention cooldowns are a pain.
So I'm just boosting TR, PI, ToW, and Hunting at once to keep my options open. ToC can stay where it is, I only use it so I'm not waiting an hour between fights to recover health. Though I might get rid of Nightmare since he's dying a lot more recently. My 10-year-old nephew has a Defense build and it cracks him up every single time he knocks a satyr into the next county with his shield, so yep, a parody involving a Defense dude would have lots of physical comedic elements. On the other hand, a more serious epic saga would be intriguing as well. I mean, I loved Vince's "The Hero of Helos" and I'm really enjoying Alek's "Lesser Path" epic. There are some good writers here. So, anything you choose to do would be fine by me. (wonders curiously if shield charge's propulsion has anything to do with "the musical fruit?")

Hm... Well I'm play testing a defender now, and its sluggish. Not sure I want to spend all the time getting him up to decent levels WHILE writing something interesting about experience farming...
Next stop, rogue testing! Maybe he'll end up as a Corsair or something.
Again, when something changes writing-wise, you'll know.
