Stank

After making a melee-heavy class I decided I want to go caster next. So far he's only level 3; with points into healing and wolf summon so far. I'm stuck on what my other class will be, I'm not looking for the most over powered build, just something that's fun really. I just need some suggestions on what to invest my stat points into, what abilities to pick, and what other class I should go. Thanks a bunch!

I don't really want him to be a melee though. And I'm not too familiar with Dream, whats good about it?

Well most people think Dream is the best mastery cuz it's powerful and fulfills all other mastery's perfectly and most importantly it's fun ;D

Dream, Storm, Spirit and Earth are all good for pets, and (except maybe spirit) some casting too.

Choose storm (Druid) It worked 4 me very well.

Thanks a bunch guys, I'll probably go with Storm or Dream! :D
Oh and also, what are some skills to 'avoid' in Nature, Storm or Dream?

Nature+dream (ritualist) performs better at melee than at caster. As a caster you will have the weakest normal attack of all classes (no +elemental buffs, no ternion, psionic touch sucks), but you will have a couple of nice spells. Distortion wave is quite useful, but distort reality makes no good for a pure caster, who shouldnt go into the heat of battle.
You could try going hybrid, thats what i did. Have two sets of weapons, a staff and a spear. When you see a group of mobs, switch to spear, phantom strike (you will advance while invisible), switch to staff (do this after phantom strike, if you do it while you are walking invisible you will reappear without hitting anyone) and distort reality.
However if you want a pure caster your best bets are storm (massive debuff with plague + squall, ice shards) and earth (tanking pet, a little more damaging spells than storm). Spirit is also nice, but you would have no real spells, meaning you would be spamming ternion and relying on your pets %hp reduction.
As for skills to avoid, pretty much everything is useful to some extent. Especially plague and heart of the oak from nature or squall from storm, those are a must have. The rest you can experiment by yourself, if you dont like them, reset your points at a mystic ;)

See "Dream DOT" for a different view on this.
Avoid Storm's personal shield, Nature's Overgrowth and wolf Maul (unless you are a pet Soothsayer) and DW's chaotic resonance (unless you are a pet Ritualist).
And like Kelnor said, if you want to be a pure caster Plague is your best friend.
