Hi guys,
Came across a review of this game and decided to look for it and see what it was selling for. Most places including D2D listed it for $29...but I saw a listing for it at a site called Gamersgate.com for $7.48
Never had any dealings with this game download site (think GoG.com) but I decided to give it a try.
It uses a downloader to download and install the game...after that you can delete the file and temp files or keep if you choose. You can download the game after purchase as many times as needed with no restrictions. You can also simply make a copy of the install dir to make a dvd backup if you choose.
Ok on to the game, installed and played perfectly.
This game seems to be a lot like Arcanum , but with updated graphics. It's a Steampunk Fantasy game with swords, Dwarfs, guns, Elves, Flamethrowers, zombie skeletons and trains lol
Depending on what skill tree you decide to follow you can play the game in a way that most have never played an RPG.
You gain party mbrs (think Icewind Dale) as you adventure, so there is a nice possible mix of char. styles available to play and develop.
The game is based on a Russian Fantasy Novel...and to be honest there have been some translation errors in some of the dialog choices. Nothing huge, but know there is a off word or phrase sometimes.
The only bump on an otherwise enjoyable experience thus far is the camera control. Someone decided that it would be nice to move the screen if the mouse hits the screen edges. This is not my preferred way to go...but I found reducing the mouse sensitivity in the game options helped this quite a bit. But you still need to keep your mouse under control lest you move the screen in rapid fashion unexpectedly lol
But for $7 I'm not really complaining lol
So if you're looking for a new experience and enjoy the Steampunk atmosphere then this game might be of interest :)
