Friend with patch can't connect to my (also patched) game?

A friend and I installed this patch today. I'm trying to host an xmax game using Tunngle, but he says when he tries to join me he gets an "incorrect version" error. We checked, and we both downloaded the same file off the Rapidshare link. Both our versions in game are listed as v1.17 .sd, so I don't know what the issue is.

So, are xmax/Tunngle not supported with this patch? Or is there just something we have to do to make this work.

Are both of you using the same version? By that, I mean the same region-game? Steam/D2D/Retail versions are all different (for some reason) and prevents players from playing with each other sometimes. Try using the same files, like the game.dll, engine.dll, and database.arz files.

Hey, we fixed it.

He had to make a game with his character first, I guess to update the version of his character.

We were both using the D2D version, but that's.. not a problem now :D
