I am just playing the demo, and I'm pretty impressed by the game itself. I wonder about a thing. Anyone knows any cheat codes for the demo? Especially god mode. That would make great sense for unsuccesful gamers like me who still wants to explore the whole map :).

search this forum for 'hex'

there are some posts about hex editing with modified stats/skillpoints/money

someone said he did 220k dmg with spell with some editing

that should make you happy i guess

Second options: Make a melee char with Earth Mastery and put as many points in Brimstone as you can. You'll kill most mobs with 1 blow

thanks for the answer friend. but I can't seem to search for "hex" at boards. it gives a warning message about string is too short. any way to override this?

this is the thread you are looking for:

read it all and you should understand how hex-editing works, and how to edit your char.

good luck!

there's no console in the demo, so no god mode nor anything of the like (apart from editing you character file of course ;))

why is everyone so obsessed with editing their chars.. why do ppl even PLAY games if they can't even be patient enough to accomplish something BY THEMSELVES

sheesh

I've edited my game, but the only change I made was to be able to play as rogue... still only lvl 6, only with things I've found the "honest way", and only spent 15 skillpoints in my tab... just wanted to try the other masteries as well. Of course I made cheat chars, too curious not to, but I don't play on god mode (or cheat at all in retail) as it ruins the game for me, in no time...

I would only do it to test out the skills and combos.

i consider it cheating whenever you edit it.. but maybe the way bardo puts it (opening other classes) might be not that bad.. but things like many free skillpoints, upping your levels or other tweaking which makes your char more powerful i DO consider cheating/hacking. and i'm not very fond of ppl like that, who can only play a game if their chars are easy and overpowered from the start. what's the point of playing a game when you can't even enjoy it the way you were supposed to? enemies are made stronger for a reason you know! they are to be a challenge! they should give you a rewarding feeling at the point of defeat!

sorry guys but i just can't stand ppl that cheat to overpower their chars, what's the fun of playing games that way anyhow?

I agree, no fun at all to play with an edited char... what's the point to play to find a special item, or get more skillpoints, if you allready got some "for free", and know you can easily get more the same way.
I've never tried to hack or edit any games before, so it was just as much a learning experience in game mechanics. But think it's a fair way to plan/considarate a char when it's the only option to see how many points a certain skill holds atm. Don't know how long I've been just putting points into skills, without actually playing... just reflecting over the synergy in different trees :p

Being a Mac guy there were rarely tools to actually edit/train one's character. Some "god modes" that you could enable within games via a console cheat (i.e., Max Payne) and the usual cheat codes work for most games like their PC counterparts (Rise of Nations et al) certainly, but often a "lack" of editing tools and methods for Mac games.

That being said, I have used hacked characters in single player mode and only after I'd completed a game to explore other character types or for fun 15 minute sessions of "blow everything up for fun" ... but never in a real game. I'm one of those fussy "legit" type players for the most part.
