View Full Version : MI drop chances increased?

I was doing the Soronis run with the dreadweaver and I got a Biting Brablewood Bow. Well I felt pity cause I can't use it. After a few meters: guess what? Another Bramblewood Bow, this time 'depleting'. And after that i got a pair of greaves. 'Batrachos Greaves of Journeying'. But before all this I got 3 Ismene's helms and 2 Ismene's cuirasses. And one Mbuti's advocate. And 2 Galion Cuirasses (they are not MI but anyway.) (All this in Normal diff.)
^all that without restarting. one run.
Strange ha? a few months ago in vanilla I spent days farming epic soronis only to get a pair of non-affixed Batrachos greaves and a 'Fiery' Bramblewood bow.
BTW i get 3-4 shotted by every monster. I play extremely carefull there.

but i looked on the MI thread and there is written like 4000 frogs for a pair of greaves. hmmm.
and anyway even if they are broken they still are green and cannot miss them.

When my girlfriend and I play in XmaX or UberMod, we generally find anywhere from 3 to 12 or more Mbuti's Advocate, and 2-5 Bramblewood bows in just the western most frog camp in Soronis. Batrachos Greeves don't drop nearly that often, and have to farmed for a few times to get one to drop.
Also just remember, the odds are stating that you would have to farm that many to guarantee you would get one to drop. But, at the same time, the random number generator in the game could at any point hit whatever it has to drop 5 MI's of the same type and affixes, it's just EXTREMELY unlikely. The number that you'd have to farm are not set in stone. It could take you 10,000 kills to drop a single bat greaves, or it could take you 50. That's the problem with statistics, they are just that, and nothing more.

That's a big pile of BS. But judging from the rest of your post you probably know that.

Glad someone caught that.

Spawns are increased, and the Lamia can now drop their monster headgear. Also, if you're using any sort of drop modifiers, even the remove broken/white items, you will notice an increased drop in rare items.

I turned off the item drop modifiers and I found an otus' whereas when I had on +30k chance I did not. Odd.
This was just for gits and shiggles.
