View Full Version : A list of new features wanted for TQ!

1: Stash/Chest. A big stash shared with all the characters on that cdkey/computer would be awesome to.
Why? Because some of us players really like to collect sets/items for usage with other character on low lvls and ofcourse just for fun. And so that the singeplayers like me could "trade" items between characters.
Giving items to my other chars is hard in singeplayer

2: Better Pet/Summon control.
Why? Because the on in TQ now is really simple, I know this is a hack-and-slash game but some options like "Stay" "Go there and stay" "Only Defend" "Fire at will" would enchant my gameplay and others much.
Also a better way to control them ingame would be good to, to be able to bind a key to a pet/summon to be able to move him fast. The current system is very complicated to use when you're stressed or in the middle of a fight. Especially when you rely on the pet/summon to tank for you like my does.

3: Equipment switching. Not too important but good for many of us users out here.
Why? Just look at my fire based character engages a enemy like the tiny fire elementals in act 3. I do almost no dmg at all. Because my gear I usually use is also only fire based. To be able to quikly switch equipment just using a simple button would rock. For my fire based char to be able to switch to my cold/lighting based equipment without having to search the inventory and that.

4: Turning off looting when not holding the "loot" buttons
Why? Haven't you all been in a fight when you suddenly stop to pick up an invisible item just laying on the floor. Then the monster chasing you catch up to you and you'll have to spam the pot button once again.
If looting wasn't able without holding the "loot" button it would be alot easier during fights to run around.

6: Customation for characters Not too important either but it would be fun to atleast be able to change haircolors/tattoos?/scars? and various things like those.
Why? Just to add some way to make your character feel more personal.

Edit: I should probably delete this one but I still think it could be thought of when the current balancing/bug/issues been taken care of.
I mean scars and tattoos and hair color is simply changing the skin for the character, not deforming him.

7: Another looting system while playing in group?
Why? I recently read about someone ninjaing (<-- funny) other ppl's loot when they killed Typhon together. I know this is going to be very hard but maybe something to think of in patches of the future. This could mean changing the whole loot system which could be a big problem :lol:

8: Gambling!
Why? Because it's fun and it's a good way to spend all those money you can't spend on anything else :happy: It's not like it's very necessary but easter eggs in other games isn't needed either but it's damn fun when you find one.

9: Adding a third weapon combo
Why? Because some of the characters out there use many various items for killing foes, especially rogues since the bleed/poison effect doesn't apply to undead. And we all know that TQ is filled with undeads (Not a bad thing)

10: Adding the enchanted relic/charm icon on the item when enchanted instead of the "+" icon.
Why? Because this would simply improve the way to see what relic/charm you have enchanted the item with, now we have to mouse over to look what enchant it has.
This aint the most necessary thing to add either at the moment but it could be overlooked in later patches. Since all new stuff added to the game that helps us players will be appreciated.

11: Adding a "Cancel" button when loading, which takes you back to the main menu.
Why? Because when loading multiplayer games and sometimes singeplayer games Titanquest seem to freeze just loading but nothing ever happens.
Adding a button that could bring you back to the main menu would be good so you can rejoin the game instead of doing the good ol´ trick "Ctrl+Alt+Delete".

12: Adding a way to bind the rebirth fountains together with the portal stone
Why? So that when you encounter a really hard boss or group of mob and are far far away from the nearest rebith fountain it would be great to be able to lay your portal stone. Then if you die you can simply click the rebith fountain and travel to the portal stone.
It saves time and makes the game even better for the players

13: Weapon comparisons in inventory should compare against both primary and secondary weapons.
Why? Because it will be alot easier to see if you wanna change any of the used weapons for the new one.

14: When mousing over a item for some seconds the stats should be shown
Why? So you know if you want to make space in your inventory to pick it up or if you´re just wasting time.

15: Adding a new button that arranges items in the inventory
Why? So that we lazy players don't have to do it by ourselves =)

16: An option to turn off/on the ability for spells/skills to instantcast at the closest target to your cursor, even when they are activated from the hotbar. (Much like using a skill from Right-Click).
Why? Because it would rock. The more options, the better the game becomes . Atleast for me. Thanks Xaece for pointing this out.

17: More options to the video menu, like turning of shadows totally
Why? Because it would help us with sucky computers to optimize our gameplay so that we can play it lag free and truly enjoy the game.

18: Adding an option to walk
Why? So that we can enjoy the nature more, and walking is cool for showing of your awesome equipment, just think about it. A chracter with the full set of the most exclusive set in the game walking down the street slowly, just beautiful. But this could be hard to do in the nearest future though. But it could be thought of.

19: Making it possible to enchant Epic/Legendary items
Why? Because green items could be alot better if you enchant them than a ordinary legendary can be, legendary should be awesome if you can't enchant them, but that's not the situation right now in TQ. I just read about a Hunter/Earth losing 1200 dps when equipping a legendary bow instead of his enchanted green bow.

20: Adding the command "/player #" so you can make the game harder if you think it's too easy.
Why? Because some of us have easy builds/godly gear and maybe playing co-op.
They have no challange playing through the game which can make it rather boring. Adding the "/player #" command would be great since you can decide for yourself if you want it hard or easier. Take a look how the command works in D2 and think about it.

21: Adding a filter in shops/stores so you can filter away those items you do not wish to see
Why? Because most of us don't buy white stuff from vendors, with a simple filter you can easily see only the green items so you won't have to search every item in the store to find one. Believe me it's annoying to search a store since they got tons of items (A good thing)

22: Closed servers
Why? It helps against cheating/duping and will make our game experience better.

23: Adding joypad support and "w.a.s.d" movement options
Why? Some of us wants to be able to play with these movement keys. Helping them means pleasing your customers which every dev should aim for.

24: Chaning drops in epic/legendary, less greys/whites
Why? Quote from Xaece: "I just hate being in full rare and epic gear, and having a mob nearly kill me with grey and white items in Epic. A tall order, but I'd like it to make sense for Epic to be called Epic, lol." I must say he got a point there :)

25: Clarification on what 'damage' modifiers are, also a damage breakdown
Why? Some of us want better clarification on what 'damage' modifiers are, also a damage breakdown (so we can see what our base dmg and gear enhanced dmg etc are)

And hell yeah it's true. Better clarification for the win.

26: Adding a way to hide/show bars(UI)
Why? Quote: "I would love a way to show/hide the whole action bar because as an archer it's a pain in the *** when mobs are "hiding" under the bar and I have target the ground nearby instead or get uncomfortably close."
Can't say it better myself

27: Making missiles/spells flying past where you clicked to shot them(Damn hard to explain)
Why? When you click on the ground, while holding shift, to shoot a staff/bow, the missile you shoot goes to that spot. It would be nicer if the missile just shot over that spot, not to that spot. I've had some problem with this to, might be hard to change this due to various of different spells. But hey nothing is impossible.

28: Adding a way to re-enchant items
Why? Since when you on normal and just find a nice ?staff? and enchant it with +fire damage and then suddenly you find an epic relic that you wanna enchant the staff with you get pissed, trust me. Maybe adding a fee in town for disenchanting or something neat.

29: Adding more unique monster, some that spawns with different abilities than others
Why? Well some of us want more unique monster for a more unique gameplay, I know there are already some monsters out there with different abilities.

30: Adding Unarmed/Hand combat
Why? Because it will add more variety to the game which is good

31: Locking the cursor inside the game when user has 2 monitors connected at the same time
Why? Simply because it´s damn annoying when the game minimize itself over and over again.

32: Adding a way to change music inside the game, like hotkeys maybe that switch music or even a way to import your own music like in the GTA series.
Why? Because some of us would want a feature like that, being able to choose music is always good.

33: Adding more anti-cheating features
Why? Because currently there is tons of ways to cheat, addresing these issues will help build a better and more fair gamplay for us all

34: Adding a way to highlight enemies on screen
Why? Because the melee toons out there who has a kinda hard time really want to take out some targets first and helping them doing that is good

35: Adding a screenshot feature similar to that in D2
Why? Who doesn't want a nice picture from time to time, I know you can click "Print Screen" and then paste it into a picture program but as for me I always to to that, I just hit print screen then I have to continue gaming.

36: Adding a way to move character/inventory screens so they ain't fixed in the centre
Why? It's good if you want to have you inventory up when you want to pick something up or if you simply want to move it.

37: Adding more mobility to the character, like swimming and climbing
Why? Because it's cool and ads more variety to the game, though the maps have to be remade so no-one could swim outside the map, wonder how that would turn out? :razz:

38: Making the cursor bigger to see in battle
Why? Because we simply lose it during combat nowadays

39: Keeping portals open when we die
Why? So we don't have to waste time going back to that evil boss that one hit our melee toons

40: Adding auto-pickup for gold/potions in singeplayer, and being able to toggle if it's on or off ofcourse.
Why? Because it's just wasting time running around picking up gold/potions in singleplayer anyway, it's not the same in multiplayer but in single we would benefit alot from it.

41: Adding a small feature so you could show enemies on the compass like small dots, not the ones that are hidden though
Why? Quote from Stubbie "How about small red dots on the compass map to show the location of enemies. That will allow you to zoom in a bit closer in the main screen and check out the cool monster graphics." And it's cool ; P

42: Create a toggle that allows you to have HP/MP Bars show at the feet of [Self Only], [All Allies], and [All Creatures]
Why? Because it would rock so you dont have to mouse over the enemies to know their health and then being able to take out the weak first.

43: Adding new weapons in the game like wands that could be wielded with a shield
Why? Because it's great with more variety of items so we could customize our heroes even more

44: Making some spells behave more properly like the spell Eruption
Why? Quote from Luhkee "If I select it and target something 3/4 or more of a screen from me, I often run up close before casting it. If I hold down shift and do the same thing, I can hit anywhere on screen I target with no problems whatsoever. Very frustrating to deal with clunky mechanics like that. The same problem happens with squall and other spells."

45: Making the spells/hotkeys work better, more like in D2 maybe?
Why? Because it's easier to use and works.

46: Adding an option that can toggle Night/Day cycle on and off
Why? Because it's good for some of us that experiences lag during nights and also those who has problems seing the enemies at night.

47: Adding names for zones on the maps
Why? So you know where you are located, and if you missed something you can check the map so you know where to go.

48: Adding a way to show the actual damage of attacks/skills after modifiers
Why? It will certainly clarify some things and it will help you decide on builds and how to continue building your character with gear and skill points.

49: Adding a follow command/button
Why? Because it would be simply good to have

50: Making the target aquisition better
Why? Because it's hard as a bowman to target things when running and so on.

51: Adding different types of multiplayer servers
Why? Wouldn't it be awesome to have like trade games that only traders join and you can only trade? Atleast I do, and the maybe normal games and maybe PvP or something.

52: Adding bosses/zones only achiveable when playing multiplayer, like a boss that can only be beaten with a balanced group of heroes
Why? It is fun and it makes the game even better and more enjoyable in multiplayer.

53: When joining a multiplayer game you get info about difficulty, players, open spots, and so on
Why? Because it's great to see when joining a multiplayer game, I haven't played any multiplayer so far so I don't know how it looks.

54: Adding a new Rebirth Fountain close to Polyphemous cave
Why? Becuase it's a very long way to go and you encounter alot of evil guys including Polyphemous and 3 Undead Princes on the way, this + using melee could get ugly.

55: Adding a way to show players screen name
Why? So you can remember them like friends or foes easier, a good way to make friends, and if someone makes something stupid youäll always know who he is.

56: Adding a monk/unarmed mastery that focus on melee staff and unarmed combat
Why? Even more variation to the game, so why not?

57: Showing items when holding alt even if they are in air
Why? Since a bug makes them be in air for a very very long time and when that happens after killing Typhon and some legendary item becomes stuck in the air it kinda gets annoying.

I've seen it listed a few times, and I'm starting to like the idea of a consolidated suggestion thread.

Some of the features on this list are being discussed / planned as future additions to TQ, although I can't discuss which ones at this point.

This brings me to an interesting subject. Have you ever wondered why game developers are always secretive about what they're working on or what features / changes they may add to an existing product? Mainly it is because we all rejoice in torturing the audience but also it is for marketing reasons. Magazines want to be the first to reveal new information about a game. We developers offer new pieces of information "exclusives" to certain magazines in order to get better coverage that helps the sales of our games. In order to save up a lot of exclusives to offer the press before the game hits shelves, we need to be secretive about what we're working on. If we talk too much to the community, everyone will know about upcoming features and magazines won't be interested.

Of course, like I said, the main reason is still just to torture the audience. :)

I would like to be able to walk. I find it annoying that my character has to run around like a maniac all the time. When I'm exploring I like to walk to be able to take in the environment.

I humbly request that you would add at least 2 more mouse button slots at the bottom (you know the ones that have standard attack and a blank one at level 1).

My mouse has 5 buttons, 3 on top (scroll wheel button is not very fun to click), and 2 on the side. (In case you are wondering its a Logitech MX 518). Anyhow, I would like to put standard attack on button 1, shield charge on 2, lightning bolt on 3, and batter on 4. This would be awesome, since it would free up 2 buttons on the keyboard which I use very often.

BTW, if there is such an option already, someone PLEASE tell me how to enable it.

Relyks, can't you just bind the buttons to the current 1-2-3-4-5 buttons on the keyboard using the ordinary controls menu? Or am I misunderstanding you somehow?

#9, 10, and 13 I don't really care for...

#9: Its okay, but not really needed, and I don't want to cycle through 3 different slots with the 'w' key. Most people arn't going to have 3 different sets of weapons waiting around just for that *1* special monster you need it for.

#10: I like looking at an item and seeing the bonuses I applied. If it was just an icon.. would we have to scroll over the icon? Because the way it currently works, the stats on an item disappear if your mouse leaves the item, and changing that could cause more problems than its worth.

#13: Weapon stat sheets can get pretty long. Adding on another 2 weapon stat sheets could make the screen too cluttered. If you had this with option #9, I don't think you'd have enough room on the screen. However, with option #10, it would save screen space, but then you might have a full screen of stats you can't get out of.

@Medierra: I understand, and agree that is your right at the developer. But, as the paying consumer, it would be nice to give us some small announcements on planned features.. doesn't have to be detailed, but perhaps address whether some of the more commonly request features will be added, ie: stash.

The game is released already, the main ones concerned with the game are the people that payed for it. Magazines are good for hype and such, but unless its some huge patch with tons a features, I doubt they would waste precious space for it.:errf:

I'm behind you on #1. I play SP and it sucks that I can never. Ever. Ever. Complete an item set. (At least I couldn't in D2).

I'd like to go so far as to suggest that perhaps the completion of an item set be incorporated into the game as a sort of mini-quest. Perhaps the first set item you find with a character, you will be guaranteed to complete that set by the time you face Typhon.

i agree with this term if its nothing major and just a measley patch like the previous patch which in my books has stuffed the game up in a way due to all the crashes im getting and loss of majestic chests, they wont waste space on it and i doubt magazines are interested in patches anyways they would be way more interested in an upcoming expansion or TQ2.

Also in a way it would also benefit you and this forum if we are given hints/or told of upcoming features that will be added into the game and if any of our ideas have helped or had been listened to and implemented why?, because it will stop all these posts we are all posting about bugs/crashes/stash and heaps of other stuff we are all crying about, unless people are told that its under consideration or is going to be implemented into a patch they will continue to post such posts about these errors and certain missing key features in the game.

Add a filter to the shop, so you can see only what yellow and green items are on sale, or just what green items are on sale.

Lets face it, no one wants white items from a store so it would be great if you could just filter them out.

This is becoming an excellent thread. :rockon:

What I would like to see, is no more grey items in Epic and beyond, and Whites to become rarer. This may call for a decrease in power of enemies in Epic and beyond, it may lol.

I just hate being in full rare and epic gear, and having a mob nearly kill me with grey and white items in Epic. A tall order, but I'd like it to make sense for Epic to be called Epic, lol.

As a result I tend to kite mobs in a direction where they will show up in one of the divits to either the right or left of the bottom bar, which is awkward.

Agreed on the damage modifers issue!
Perhaps IL can add a third page on the character stats display with detailed information on the breakdown of additional cold, fire, lighting, poison, bledding, piercing and bonus damage adding up with the normal damage to give a grand total.

Also defensive ability points, armor points, shield blocking points and all the resistances should be together in a page. The general page should display normal stats, the average damage, dps, etc...

also another thing fix the damn manticore it looks like a flying monkey with astegasaurus tail, they are part dragon/scorpion/lion, ( dragon wings scorpion tail lionbody/head).

1. I hate when I know what to be expected from a group of monster.
I want a random small chance of the monsters to , for exmaple
- greatly increase hp
- have high or max in some skill
- have physical or magic resistance
- have some special ability that depending on type or race.(explode when die or run faster)
and put a prefix for it. I like when i see a very long name in diablo because i known that a badass is coming ^^.

2. If you are doing expansion please add more sex to the creatures. something like a female turtle larger than a male , a group of satyr with a female leader or a female cyclop a bit smaller but attack faster.

3. a way to create yellow or green item. it may be a mixing system or npc to do it.

4. more balance map . Why the great wall part is too short , Olympus is also too short.

I think it would be awesome if you could re-enchant weapons and armor with newer relics. Sometimes I'll enchant a weapon with a completed relic only to get another one with a better completion bonus.

NUMERO UNO-Thing needed bad before i go frikkin insane +SHARED STASH!!!

2-after that some kinda clicky to not pick up every invis broken or normal item on the ground

3-OPtion to turn off shadows reflections and day/night (and lighting) this would make mp run so much more smooth.

4- Did i mention Shared @#$%%^ stash :)

5-err nerf the f outa ternion (ntf = put a 2 sec delay timer on it easy fix there)

6-shared stash ??? :)

7-where was i ohh yeah more nudity and a option to win the tri state lotto whilst still playing!

8-mellee option to still win without sec class being nature actualy this should be above the lottery but still under SHARED STASH!!!! :)

ps GREAT game it'll rock once it gets all squared away im thinkin :)

I don't mind devs holding out on features to get more profits later from giving out exclusives to magazines but some things are a little silly no?

You can't expect xx thousands of people to buy your game when they read "Titan Quest now has an option to turn off Shadows in the video menu!" in their favorite magazine. Things like this should be in the initial release...

Add content later, but optimize the game as much as you can as early as possible. Some dude who says "hey Jim, you should buy TQ, it runs great and is extremely stable for such a good looking game" is going to sell you more copies than releasing engine opts to a magazine so they can publish the changes.

Xaece your nightmare has come true :), it is time, today when I tried to update the list it said that it was too long, so deleting some unimportant stuff I managed to publish it updated anyway but I hereby give you some responsibilty to update it in the future. I could do it if a dev somehow deleted your first post somehow.

Just a note, I think #27 would fix the problem #26 describes.

If you can click the ground to shoot, and it goes over that spot, not to that spot, as in Diablo II, you don't need to see and click the monster, as you currently need to do. :\

My PC has two monitors. TQ doesn't 'lock' the mouse in the active monitor so I always wind up flying out of the game and then it minimizes. =( The only other game I had this problem with was Stubbs the Zombie. All my other PC games 'lock' the cursor in the window while the game is running.

Second issue-> No disrespect to your music guy, but when I'm bashing tigerman heads, I want to listen to metal, or occasionally Queen. ^_^ However, TQ wont let me use my Play, Stop, Next, etc keys in game. I have to alt tab out if I want to change songs or pause-- Hell in multiplayer. WinAmp's global hotkeys are also ignored.

No matter where you went in Neverwinter Nights though, everybody online had the ability to hack their character, you have to be very careful there, it made that game very un-fun. Well, at least in multiplayer. Playing LAN with friends was pretty cool still, until one of them was cheating...bleh...thats why I stopped playing...and yet I have NWN 2 preordered.....I think they might have called me about that, need to go check my answering machine, byes.

Got one wish....kinda minor but when it happens it usually leads to death or a close call.

please make the enemy target acquistion area bigger lol

What I mean is this....I have to play zoomed out since I typically play melee toons and strolling into a mob is a quick way to take a dirt nap.

When I target an enemy (mouse icon turns into a sword) half the time I end up running past the targeted enemy and run into more bad guys. Some times I have to click 2-3 times before I'll start attacking.

k..actually just led to a couple other wishes...can we simply mouse to next enemy in mob to start attacking instead of have to click everytime. I just want this for enemies right next to me.

Any way to highlight all enemies on screen? Sort of like using "ALT'. I mean if I can pick out that bone pile in the middle of a 3' high wheat field, then I should be able to easily pick the harder baddies in the the middle of the mob I'd like to attack first

2. Ability to click-drag/move the character/inventory windows (ie. not fixed in the screen centre).

3. A keyboard hotkey to close all open windows. (I was surprised that when I first tried playing TQ, one of my first reflect actions was to close the character window by hitting the spacebar with my left thumb).

More Mobility:

I notice lots of water. It would be cool if the character could swim and fight sea-monster type creatures; possibly even go under-water (not sure how that would be done). Also, sometimes there is simply a rock or hill to go up, if he could climb them or jump over things automatically that would be really neat. :)

This is a great thread, I'll add my wishes here as well in my other thread...

- Need more differentiation between monsters. They are all bland and boring now. Who remembers bishibosh in D2??

- It's very easy to lose the cursor in battle. The cursor should be a little bigger, and maybe the "monster lock" needs to be more obvious. I like the earlier suggestion that the "current monster" should automatically switch to the nearest alive monster as you kill them as long as you keep holding down the attack key.

- Only pickup loot by clicking on the displayed label. Please Please.

- Keep portals open when you die, so I can get back to the action without wasting 5 mins running across the map.

Ok, sorry for spamming the posts but there is *just one more thing*...

There is an annoying lag to everything, about 0.5 seconds or something, eg when you click on a chest to open it, you wait, wait, and then it opens, then you wait, wait while the stuff springs out, then you wait, wait, while it rolls around on the ground.

Even clicking to pick up items will have a small pause before it happens.

It's like the game wants you to play at a leisurely pace. It's not possible to just get "into the zone" because of all these small preprogrammed pauses everywhere.

And there is *very bad* mouselag in the inventory sometimes, especially if you have an ati card with AA enabled. The lag can be close to 2 seconds (I'm not kidding, I have an X1900Xt and playing at 1280x1024 with 2xAA). Turning off AA helps a lot, but I can't fathom why there should be any lag at all. The inventory stuff should be using 2D (pre-rendered, or rendered-and-cached) images for everything. How can there be any lag *at all* ??

yeah, i really miss this a lot! i find myself pressing alt all the time to find out how much health mobs have left. i thought i was just damaged from playing wc3 hero maps but now i know i'm not alone in missing this.

A couple more...

Wands A less powerful version of staves, maybe slightly faster, that could be used in combination with a shield, would be VERY nice. Perhaps even dual wielded, I suppose ("They'll rue the day... and rue it hard!").

Improved potion use options e.g., largest first (the way it seems to work now), smallest first, largest in combat and smallest out of combat, etc. Better yet would be to just have it not use a greater potion when health/mana can be topped off with a lesser one, without forcing the player to go to their inventory and do it manually... it takes away the point of making a button for it in the first place.

I'd like to see improved hotkey use, so when I hit my hotkey, it selects that skill. Currently, it gets very frustrating to use anything but right click as a sorc since I can never be sure what I selected is going to fire.

Also, certain spells don't behave properly when casting at range for me. Eruption for instance. If I select it and target something 3/4 or more of a screen from me, I often run up close before casting it. If I hold down shift and do the same thing, I can hit anywhere on screen I target with no problems whatsoever. Very frustrating to deal with clunky mechanics like that. The same problem happens with squall and other spells.

Why does it seem like every game in this genre has 3 difficulty levels? I am so damn sick and tired of playing the same game over 3 times for every character. Why can't the game just get gradually more difficult as you progress? Is it just the quick/cheap way to make a game seem longer than it is by making you play the same game 3 times in a row? It gets very boring! It makes me want to cheat a character into starting at the most difficult setting at level 30 or something so I only have to play through the game 1 time!!!

The map view should show the names of each area, maybe as you move the mouse over each area the name of the area should show up somewhere.

At the moment there's no way to see the names unless you walk to each area. It can take a long time to find an area if you missed a side quest and have to come back.

The only thing I'd suggest is closing the server. I really love the idea of being able to play single player and then taking my character to multiplayer, but it's bitter-sweet.

This game will be filled with more cheats than D2 in a matter of weeks. It will be rediculous and most will quit or start cheating themselves to compete with the sudden burst of "godmode" -- it's only inevitable.

That is for the current game, maybe a patch or update. I know nothing about coding and I am sure I am making it sound easier than it really is, but in the long run, the game will prosper much more.

Future expansions:

More masteries could never hurt. :)

Here's my two cents that I can think up at the moment:

1) Common Stash
2) Looting system in Multiplayer (need/Greed rolling a la WoW?)
3) Add different types of multiplayer servers :O! This is a bit of a strange idea, but I think it would be cool if you could open up a game using a "Trade Post" map, in which people could come and trade. This would make it so that people could only enter to trade, and therefore reduce lag by not forcing the host to load extra unnecessary terrain.
4) More character model choices (face, hair, ect)
5) Multiplayer-only dungeons and bosses; Maybe add bosses and areas exclusive to multiplayer, that are only beatable with a well balanced team.
6) Cap mystic skill point costs. It adds up fast. Or even have the cost depreciate over time.

Hmm, some of those ideas may suck, but maybe someone else will run with em lol :D

Oh, one other thing -- not technically a feature request -- but there needs to be another fountain added in act one, somewhere near Polyphemous' cave.

To clear out the outdoor map of spiders/undead/harpies, then take on the 3 undead princes in the ruined city, then fight Polyphemous, and then to STILL have to clear that long strand of beach afterwards (and the cave on it), before your progress can be saved, makes for a really, really long slog... usually longer than I want for a single play session.

Party invites **** me off. They always come while you're neck deep in guys and then you get a box over your char and you cant see what you're doing. Same with trade requests. Either more it to an edge/corner or just make us have to accept in the party screen.

And the way trading works is stupid. Why must we party first? It took me forever to figure out you have to right click their name to trade.

And yeah monk would be cool, but maybe it interferes with the whole ancient egypt thingy going on. Well might just add it to the list, so atleast the devs can see it :)

I've got another suggestion:
At the moment you can't see (and therefore not pick up) stuff until it has hit the ground and stopped wobbling around. And sometimes items wobble for an eternity (cyclops' dancing thongs anyone?).
As an example I might add that I just killed Typhon, and clicked on the sphere. Bunch of stuff flies out, and hits the ground. I hold the view-items-button and there's a Hesione's Veil among all the gold and yellow stuff. I realize my inventory is cramped, so I go back to Chang'An to sell off some greens I've picked up. When I return to Olympus and hold the view-items-button I notice that besides the Hesione's Veil there's also a Mark of Ares. This has happened loads of times to me, so it's not just "I-didn't-notice-it-the-first-time-I-looked".
In conclusion I'd like the view-items-button to display stuff even if they're wobbling around (i.e. don't wait until they've hit the ground).

Noticed it a couple of times. Last night a saw a Bow wobbling on the ground, and thus waited for it to settle, so I could have it displayed. Lo and behold; instead of settling it just vanished into thin air!
And about the disappearing; I've noticed this also happens to enemies. Sometimes when I'm running up to Typhon, and I get to the Cyclopses, and see there's four of 'em. But when I run past them one of them suddenly just goes 'poof'.
Physics related problem, I guess?

I see I'm not the only one who complained since way back when about transparencies and grey/white item drops or at vendors.

Agreed on relic/charm removal. An NPC vendor could do this, for a price. Usefulness already demonstrated by functionality in TQ Vault.

The ground-click-shoot problem is compounded by shift-clicking when mouse is pointed at a pet. You will MOVE. Shift should mean no movement under ANY circumstances. I've mentioned this before.

Agreed, there's too much loot - holding down one of the filter keys should be mandatory for picking something up.

Dual spear wielding, dare I say it? :P Raise the speed caps and you won't break other weapons. I don't agree with one-handed caster items; staves are already semi-broken by being ranged, don't throw shields into the mix. An easy compromise would be to allow caster-type mods (e.g. -energy cost%) to spawn on non-staff weapons.

Agreed on hotkeys. Should be bound to mousebuttons, not cast-when-pressed. Also make them bindable to either left OR right mousebutton, not just right. Some of us actually rotate default attacks too. Hell, D2:LoD did this fine.

rrakk: there are already hero-type monsters. I don't know about upping their frequency though - perhaps in monster camp areas.

puckalicious: nobody else is complaining about that. It's like a built-in "New Game +" feature. If you don't like it I suggest NWN or games like that where you can pick how difficult a scenario to start in.

Frostbane: if you don't care to explain, nobody's going to care either.

Basilforth: we're drowning in useless greys/white items, and now you want MORE junk? And PAY for the privilege? Please.

When it comes to new feature to TQ take you time guys, it's not that big of a deal. I'm just amazed that the developers are actually talking directly to the community. For that I applaud you all for acctually caring what we have to say. I know sure as hell Blizzard didn't do this with Diablo 2, so you have that going for you guys.

Great thread and most of what has been said I agree with 100 percent.

I would really like to see more weapons outside of the greek mythology era. Is it possible to add two-handed axes, swords, and mauls (maces)?

I have heard that PvP is present in the game, but have yet to see one available.

Play more than humans: I think a party with non-human companions would be interesting (giants, centaurs, satyrs, zombies, etc...) each having special abilities and weaknesses.

Great post, agree with most of what has been said - especially like the participation of developers.

A couple of things that could be improved/implemented (IMHO), some through a patch, the others in the inevitable (but already eagerly awaited) addon pack.

Graphics

- Destructible trees. Maybe a tall order but ye gods, it would be cool :).

- The trail left behind arrows could be reduced somewhat...they look like white lasers at times. Maybe add a subtle, transparant distortion in their wake and make the projectile itself slightly bigger/bolder and hence easier to notice.

- Improved physics - Powerful melee attacks should punt enemies further, particularly smaller ones. Perhaps base this on a chars str? Certain spells (like vorb) should send enemies a slightly smaller distance than they do currently perhaps...at times it looks a little ridiculous.

- Better blood effects - Blood should resemble a dark, crimson mist, not funky red sparks.

- More impressive criticals - The screen should shake and perhaps some sort of blood animation?

- A bow that fires unique looking arrows (preferably blue energy). Bleach fans will agree with me :)

Gameplay

- Slightly more xp for doing quests, especially the trickier side quests. On more than a few occasions (especially, but not exclusively in normal) I found myself excited to go on a side quest but didn't due to the insignificant rewards they offer, particularly in terms of xp.

- Tougher and more impressive end of act fights...I found that on normal and epic the first two Telkine were rather underwhelming.

- A higher level cap (although I assume this will come with addon packs). 65 is such a strange number for us non WOW players :).

- More range on projectiles - The distance arrows and linear spells travel is ridiculously short. Perhaps this could be balanced by reducing the power of these after they have travelled a certain distance?

- Allow characters to climb over small ledges and fences...its aggravating to have your way blocked by a shin high wall of pebbles.

- A /players command. Essential for singleplayer fanatics like yours truly.

Skills

- Throwing weapons or one handed ranged weapons, such as a shuriken, kunai, harpoon, javelin, chakram etc. Would make for an interesting hunter/defense build.

- 3 wolves at 15 (or maybe raise max points of wolves to 18) : yes it sounds imba, but aggravating to need items to use wolves at their best.

- Larger area for deathchill and cold aura (perhaps slightly nerf effects to compensate).

- A slight nerfing of Oracle wouldn't hurt.

- Perhaps an allround slight improvement of non unique melee equipment, making a melee character more viable as an 'initial' build.

- Improvement to the amount of damage that can be blocked - found that the quantities available made this rather pointless with all but the best gear.

Misc and Modding

- Some way to import .mp3's into the game like you could in Oblivion, or some form of winamp jukebox. Don't mind the game's music, just prefer Nightwish or Tristania for hack 'n slash games.

- A secret level, available once a character hits 65 (or clocks epic) that allows crazy drops but is hard enough to test the mettle of even the fiercest Oracle or Ranger build.

- An easier out of the box modding experience...with simple to change variables that can affect the entire gaming experience. Am a very keen modder (for D2, Nwn and Oblivion mainly) but haven't really clicked with the toolset as of yet...

How about the option to have more than one skill tied to the right-click button? This so that we can scroll through skills and cast/use different skills. Some of the spells that have to be aimed are really annoying in the heat of battle.
I use the right-click button to cast/use a lot more than I use the scroll button for zooming, which could be tied to the + and - keys.

I'm not sure this has been said or added, admittedly I stopped reading the posts past page 1 because its dry, but what about damage displays? For spells in character sheet: For LMB I wish I could use spells and for RMB a damage display would be nice. Also: I wish I could see damage increase on the skill window itself to remind me in there what is affected by what.

How about being able to enchant an item with more than 1 thing? It would be nice to have a couple of different enchantments on my armor or weapon. And I said this in another place, but health potions acting faster and being able to use the next one sooner would certainly help in the epic game.:whistle:

An idea for the ability to see how much dmg you inflict by skills after all upgrades; If there was some sort of training ground with a dummy/scarecrow that you can cast at or attack that would then give a read out. You could incorperate it into the game by having some "master" who could help hone your skills and have that be some sort of bonus of a side quest. You would want it to jive with the rest of the game

A way to implement the mutli skill right click would be to make it switch able more easily. pressing shift+1+mousebutton then imports the skill from number 1 to the mouse button. You might think of a better way to accomplish this.

I agree with many of the suggestions especially when it comes to the multiplayer/closed net sections. This is probably my biggest concern with the game thus far. Since I have no way of meeting new players online without knowing all of their characters since account information is nonexsistant.

I would like to express my concerns at making the gameplay easier when there is no fault to dynamics. (i.e making it easier to target a character or anything automatic would just let a player kill more efficiently where as other wise they would have to just be better at targeting). Things that happen unintentionally could definately be changed. I know I often find my inventory is full, and when checked I picked up 20 rusty spears and I get scared of tetanus (especially with all those plagued birds :lol: )

Also, it seems that the bonuses from the completion of a set are very underrated. In D2 you wouldnt dream of using only one part of a set. In TQ I wouldnt dream of using a whole set. I can get way better bonuses from using rares than I can by completing most sets. There arent any skill bonuses for the completion of sets. That I know of...

Strange ya? but playing a Guardian sometimes i take a roll of full supporter ;) I have my reasons - one of them being a PC not good enough hence i have low FPS. But yeah that option would be nice. Not only limit this to regrowth but also other supportive buff spells.

Still on Regrowth, would it be possible to have an option perhaps in under the Options Tab, that when clicking Regrowth, it automatically heals self. The point I am taking is that sometimes in the heat of battle, my cursor is on the enemy as I am attacking it.

Then comes the need to heal, I click the corrosponding Number, and next step would be to 'select target to heal' (in this case myself) But in the heat of battle, at times i am mobbed to the teeth, or i am in the middle of some fancy spell animation.
Moreoever the targeting cursor is somewhat tiny. Therefore more often than not I end up healing the floor (which results in no heal or my character moving to that direction) and a swift death follows suit after that.

Oh ya, would implementing the ability to rotate be too much on the graphic card? That would be nice. At times even though with low opacity, some obstacles are a problem

Ummm... okay, so I haven't played multiplayer, but this works for pets - and I can't believe it wouldn't work for party members. Just hit the hotkey and click on the pet's portrait with the targetting cursor...

Try targetting your portrait in the top left corner (you know, your hero's head) - that'll target yourself and is rather hard to miss...

Devs are looking at a key combo (probably shift-number/shift-mouseclick on skill) that will cast on self. No more missed heal spells.

Shift = don't move, under any circumstances. Needs to be addressed please! I'm tired of my archer MOVING into a mob I shoot at, merely because the cursor hit an item or something.

Also, items not pickupable unless filter key is used. Will help melee chars from wasting critical moments picking up stuff instead of attacking.

I'd like to see some more character figures. This game gives us a lot of different combo's of builds, paladin, avenger, sage, thane etc. But at the moment all we can choose is a male or female generic model.

Imho, having more variety in the character figures would give more appeal. For example, a big butch/gruff male/female to suit melee builds and a thin, frail type male/female for your caster only builds and so on. All humans is good, just give us some different choices!

Has being able to remove charms/relics from items been mentioned yet? Can't recall seeing that in the first page list.

Agreed on char options. I don't like my hero looking like a pear. In full armor, his hips are wider that those of my heroine's. Not too many though, we're all greeks after all. No neon pink hair, etc. But a few options like tall/short, buff/skinny, long/short hair, beard/shaved, dark/light complexion would be nice.

Why? Because some of the armors make the male character look like they are in skirt/bra. It also makes the character more personal.

2. Please add some fancy effect to the arrows of hunter class! Why brigand can shoot green poison arrows, avenger red fired, and of all rangers the hunter him/herself have only ugly-hard-to-see white arrows? Come on! Even the nymph strike sometime magical arrows which look beautiful.

3. Armor should be more effective, definitely.
Right now, 100 difference in armor is almost nothing, this stop people from considering equipment’s armor while choosing them. It's also unfair for melee characters with total armor of ~1000 since they would die as quickly as a ranger with almost 300 less by a pack of tigers in legendary. It's also the reason I believe why no one even bother pickup a charm like boar hide due to its useless bonus.
My suggestion:
I should be able to feel even the change of 50 in total armor. Let those mage die in 2-3 hits, but a bower with same amount of life should be able to take 3-4 hits, and a warrior up to 6-7 hits. After all, 1000 is 3 times more than 300.

4. Dexterity should have more effect to your defensive ability (something like chance to get hit), or connected with armor.

5. Add bonus to advance classes. (Advance classes are those combined from 2 masteries, i.e. Soothsayer, Champion…)
Why? First of all, this will make each character more specialized in what they are learning, therefore affect on their way of fighting. Secondly, it’s more logical. Why would a fire master get so much damage from fire? Or a hunter takes almost every shoot from some crappy skeletons? Right now, an earth/nature and earth/hunting (with bow like me) combo have relatively the same way of fighting. Summon pets, wait for it to atk, then shoot from far away, and if get shoot, BOTH would die the same way. It’s boring.
My suggestions here are (just example):
-Add fire resistance bonus to earth mastery per lvl. Same for Storm (perhaps here with half amount for each lightning and cold).
-Add pierce resistance for hunting mastery per lvl.
-Add base damage for warface mastery per lvl.
-Add base defense for defense mastery per lvl.
-Add speed for rouge mastery per lvl.
-Add magical damage for nature mastery per lvl.

As of advance classes:
-Earth/hunting: some fire damage.
-Nature/warface: less damage from magical.
-Storm/defense: some lighting/cold damage.
.....
Of course the devs can chose better bonuses than me, but the idea is not bad I think.

Ummm... men in ancient times often happened to wear skirts, so what's your problem? Also, some of the armor changes it's form based on the gender that wears it...

From reading his explanation.... it is just that - an explanation not a problem. What's yours? :errf:

No man has ever worn a skirt - skirts are female attire. Men wear things that imply male attire, e.g. Kilts, Sarongs etc.
