The monsters you love/hate

Hi all.

While I was playing TQ yesterday, cutting my way trough normal Hades I run into a couple of annoying mobs so I got this idea - to write which mobs you love and which ones you hate.

So, here it goes...

Mobs which I love:
Tigerman - I think they are the best looking mobs in the game. I like their armor, weapons (Sabertooth ftw ), like their heroes, which can sometimes be a real challenge... I simply love them :rockon:
Undead - I love them mostly because they're the easiest mobs to farm imo :happy: Late Egypt + xMax = insane exp

And those who I hate... :mad:
Sprites - They're sooo annoying lol. Their hit and run tactics... lame... that's why I just squall them :neutral:
Neaderthal - Oh... I hate these the most lol... no comments :sick:
Crabs, crows etc. - How can something so small do so much damage? :shifty:
Lamia - They're ugly. Me hates ugly :p And generaly hate things with spears ;)
Sand Wraiths - I hate them in Legendary only hehe... cause that's when they get really dangerous :knockout: Killed me few times while farming using xMax :mad:

The list goes on lol... Dragonians, Shadowstalkers, Boars ...

And which ones you hate/love?

I hate Machae. Not because they're probably the most dangerous normal mobs in the game over. Not because they can kill me. But because they're so damn fast and when you're playing on xmax you have to chase after each bloody archer one at a time. Its time consuming and boring. I pretty much dislike all archers in the game when I'm playing xmax with a melee character.

Dactyls come a close second but they're only a pain when you're farming Hades really.

Best mobs are Dark Obelisks because of the great exp they give and they can't run away. Anything else that runs toward me or can't run away is also good in my books.

Every single bloody archer in the game. But Machae and Kers the most because their archers can run away.

I like Fallen Souls (the greenish wispy ghost guys in Hades).

I like Neanderthal Shamans, but only if they have antler helmets.

I like crows on Normal difficulty because there is just a puff of feathers when I run by.

I like Peng because of the way they bunch up and flutter to death.

I hate Sabertooth Cats because they never, ever, ever drop their charms.

I hate spiders that are strong enough to kill me.

I love Saberlions. They never have archers. :p

I like the Tigerman because like bone said they look cool and such. I like the gorgons because they are easy to kill plus best of all they drop the SBCs.
The monsters i absolutely hate the most are probably the dragonians especially the firetalon archers and death lancers especially in xmax they almost kill me everytime.Then i also hate the Machae like everyone else does since they are fast and annoying.

-automatoi
-formicid
-everything that is big, not too fast and rare
I hate:
-skeletons (too many of them, stupid undead resitance)
-catwomans form act 1
-crabs
-epuseas (lag on xmax!)
-those small act 4 things that can drop kers fetish
-anything that is small, fast, hard to click or comes in swarms

Oh, I forgot... I like those Stone Statue Guardians and Terra Cotta Warriors because of the way they break when I blast them :happy: and that lovely sound :rockon:

Ker's Fetish is dropped by Kers. I hate Empusas in xmax as well.

I know. Sometimes the names get a tad unimaginitive. But that's about the worst for that perspective.

Let's see, I enjoy fighting...
Lamias - they are challenging, yet not as frustrating as most of the Act 4 mobs
Terra Cotta warriors - the sound they make upon death is heavenly and sometimes they drop nice swords

The monsters that annoy me to ridiculous lengths are...
Nightstalkers - they are way too powerful to be the 3rd type of new mobs in IT
Boars - So much health and don't give that much exp
Pale Formicid - when they are in packs, they are ****ing deadly
Machae archers - I have no problem with melee Machae, but the archers are a powerful pain in the rear
Limos - do I even need to explain?

I may update the list if something else comes to mind

It turns out that its Keres, not Ker.

I still hate all ranged attackers, but Limos come next.

My Sapros has 70 reduced resistances and 59 Armor lowering. Squall and Hamstring take care of the rest. :twisted:

Pegasus? He was awesome. He was into cartoons. In fact, he was reading a comic book in the series and laughing his head off. Also, when Kaiba tried to hack into Pegasus' files, he sent Kaiba some cartoon bunnies that kept on saying "Hey Kaiba!" over and over again. :happy:

Right, how many of you have never had problems with him?
The first time i met Barmanu i had no idea of him, i didn't know about this forum also, was the first time playing TQ. I had a conqueror and Barmanu killed me several hours in a row (the hardest thing about him is that i can't exactly see when the snowballs are coming).
Even now, lots of toons later i'm still afraid of him (much more afraid than of the machae archers). True, since i've discovered xmax it's the only way :rockon:
If i'm not mistaking there was another thread around here somewhere some time ago, and Barmanu was waaaaaaaay ahead on top of everyone's preferences. :D

As for monsters i like:
-zombies (you could crawl by them and they couldn't catch you)
-chang'an dragonians (except for those blue mages)
-those big trees from Medea's Grove (they look cool)
And let's not forget the sandwraiths from Egypt (best effect when they come out of the sand).

He only ever killed any of my toons once - my first one. The snowballs are relatively easy to spot, and generally he follows a stun breath then snowball pattern. But then, like Vegreaper, I don't play xmax. I suppose if there were 3 of the b*ggers running around, the snowballs might be harder to see coming.

you should try xmax only with Barmanu, then you'll see what i'm talking about. you need pretty high stun resist, because there are 3 of those things "screaming" at you.

Boss Statues at the Sphinx - nice & easy & safe xp farming spot (melee & AoE casters) especially on xMax.
Dark Obelisks & Traps - give good XP; doesn't move
Gorgon Sisters - Ranger's favorite friendly farm in xMax; SBC's ftw
Gilded Dead - they maybe in packs, but hey Revenant gear just makes them worth it

Hate:
Any mob of Archers in xmax...
Machae Archers
Cyclops - Melee's nightmare...their scream & stun damages you ridiculously.
Spear-type Dragonians - try getting hit by 5-6 Dragonians doing their "RUSH move". nuff said.
Hades - BIG RED BLOB of DOOM!!!
Hydra - Freaking 1 hitters!!
Manticore - the fight itself is easy. but hell it takes so freakin long to get to him.

Love/Hate
Typhon - Melee hates him; Casters and Range Loves him :p

I'm reviving my hatred for Manaeds. They're not quite as annoying as Machae, but more tactful in their dodging abilities. They make those Demons look like cowards. :rockon:

Also, in Legendary, their rogues and shadowblades utterly spam Lethal Strike. Ouch.

I really hate Dragonian Wyrm-Mages and those Machae Grandmaster Archers. When those blue dragonian assholes start spamming that attack that stuns you it's so damn annoying. And Most of my characters have been melee, so chasing down all those machae archers is just a pain.

I like the undead especially the cracking they make if you have good damage bonus against them. Very nice. Of course, this excludes Gilded Archers when you might happen to have low pierce res.

Tigerman and Jackalman good for mobs too. All formicid are ok except if you have low lightning or pierce. If they had poision, I'd hate them like I currently hate the cheetah girls.

I've developed a dislike to all monsters that spit on my character. There are quite a few but I don't feel like thinking about it. Anouran Shamans come to mind.

Maenads are very annoying in legendary slowing down my melee toons.

But top of the list right now is legendary Minotaur lord. He just has this arrogant but relentless aggression. I mean if he didn't stop to do that earthquake thing, I'd be dead each time. And he knows it.

I'm honestly amazed nobody has mentioned Toxeus the Murderer yet ( Both the SP and Normal versions ). I absolutely hate that guy. I only managed to find the normal non SP version once, on my first run through legendary Mino Lab. I think I tripled my death count before I gave up and reset the seed. Haven't seen him since.


As for monsters I like, the only good monster is a dead monster. Also one carrying a purple. Yeah. I like those.

Yeah I like them unless that purple is Athena's Mirrored Shield. Almost killed my Brigand it did. T'was lucky I hadn't cast SP
