So... onslaught charges up damage % then release it right?

At level one it does 10% damage and with one charge it will work ALL the time cause EVERY hit it will proc.

Doesent that mean it SUCKS to add more skills if the charge level increases? if you use it with rogues mortal strike you have to COUNT each charge all the &"(¤/& time and thats impossible with dual wield, you basicly get no control. Or does it work some other way? just fail to see how onslaught can be better then calculated strike with dual wield...

My understanding was that it built in charge level with each onslaught attack, and that you got the benefits of your present charge level no matter what you did. So if you hit with onslaught three times, your first hit brings you to +10% damage which you get on your second onslaught that bring you to +20%. You're then hitting for +20% with your third blow that charges you up to +30%. If you then did a take down, your take down would be at +30% damage, and because you used hadn't used onslaught for a while, your charge level would probably drop down.

Jack is correct, each charge level gives you increased damage. Onslaught should be maxed out as soon as possible.

I haven't done the math on it, but at 8/8 it gives a VERY large damage increase, fully charged, and it works with every attack you do, including non-Onslaught hits. I don't know if it ends up averaging out to be more damage than Calculated Strike, but it's certainly nice. Full onslaught charge + lethal strike would be insanely powerful.

no max it.

It works in reverse - the first hit is max +damage then it counts off to zero per second - so like.

at 8/8 its like +72, tick, +60, tick, +50, tick

The circle gets smaller as it counts down - so in the heat of battle it will stay maxed.

it totally owns - max it...

Thanks for that.
There are just to many skills with not enough information about how the single effects actually works. Since you cant measure the damage you do it is almost impossible to work out what the skill does.

In this case, it's pretty easy, actually, if you're willing to take the skill up in the first place to test it.

Build up a full charge of Onslaught with your inventory window open. Look at your DPS. Stop fighting, and watch your DPS tick down incrementally as your charge level decreases.

I have Marduk's Rage (+2 to Onslaught) and Aegis of Laconia (+1 to all Warfare skills) with maxed onslaught proper (so total 11/8). When it's fully charged up, I get a +62% to damage, which equals out to roughly one-shotting everything but champions.

As long as onslaught is on, you do more damage depending on how many things you hit, if you're warfare the FIRST skill you max is onslaught, and you would be severely gimped if you did not max it.

Hint: With Onslaught ON, use a fast bow to fire off a few shots.

Let THEM come to YOU!

That way, once you are surrounded, and switch to melee weps, your onslaught will already be at +8 :)
