Creatures.arc has 3 female model datas.
but it has only 2 normal bump map texture files.
How can use another model characters?
Maybe the female model consists of 3 different meshes?
The game only uses one mesh. I believe the other two were prototypes.
I just checked the textures. The game uses the femalepcskirt01.msh file.
I tried swapping the models by renaming
femalepc01.msh to femalepcskirt01.msh
femalepcskirt01.msh to femalepc01.msh
femalepc01.tex to femalepcskirt01.tex
femalepcskirt01.tex to femalepc01.tex.
I repacked all the extracted files, but I had no luck. All I got was the female hair with no body.

As ~V~ there said, they're probably just useless prototypes.

Hmm, then I just ask myself why those meshes have textures that actually seem to be okay when opening them in Photoshop. Maybe I just did something wrong when I repacked the creatures.arc files. I still don't know which compression level I should use or what the proper command for repacking is?

Keep experimenting! I'd love to have some new looks to the playable characters!
I did get the toga mesh to work. The other mesh seems to be a nude female body with a bikini texture, but it doesn't show up in-game. I don't know why. I am no modeller or coder so I won't find out how to make it usable. I don't have enough knowledge to do this.

i tried to replace only femalepc01.msh to femalepcskirt01.msh.
but when game stated , character did not walk.
and texture not exact .

Hmm, did you really only swap the meshes or also the textures "femalepc01.tex" and "femalepc01_white.tex"? I also switched textures and hex-edited the .msh files' headers. Maybe that was a mistake. It's really cool, that you managed to get the model displayed in-game! Maybe we have to connect all the .anm files to the new model somehow, because those animations are only connected to the skirt model at the moment?

All right !!
Bikinizzzzzzz
I just got it working. It seems animations are there, but the model collision isn't quite right. She is floating over the ground somehow.
What makes me scratch my head is that I have to rename the msh files make the game use the bikini mesh for the skirt mesh, BUT I also have to rename textures although they are specified in the msh files.
And I found out that the bump map for the skirt mesh is "creatures\pc\female\femalepcskirt01bmp.tex" and the bump map for the bikini mesh is "system\textures\flatbmp.tex".
DAMN!!! It looks sooo much better! Why didn't you guys at Iron Lore take this model???

Maybe they didn't want to go for the cheap 'sex sells' approach. ;)
That looks good though.

Ah, now I know! They didn't use this model because of the big hips!

Good thing they didn't use that model. If they did, every model you would see would be a female. Kinda reminds of WoW, everyone and their mothers were female NE's.

flatbmp is not bump texture for femalepc01.msh
femalepcskirt01bmp.tex has alpha channel.
this channel is covered cloth part.
if you want perfact femalepc01 . mixed two textures to one.

femalepc01.msh is useless at the moment, so why would one bother messing with it?

 Phnx made some screenies - fine but thats as useful this is at the moment. Its NOT playable so its useless to bother with this, before the femalepc01.msh is fixed, if its ever fixed.
Without tex to dds/similiar converter is finished its also not possible to alter textures without messing them up. Not that it would help here, because the skirt mesh, has of course a skirt lol. So no full bikini model without mesh editing.
If you missed it we spoke about this in the thread "Fear me"

femalepc01.msh is differant to another playable model.
femalepc01.msh has no MOVEAXIS object.
femalepc01.msh has differant bone_root value.
I'd wait until we can edit msh files. I would want to use the default model, because it doesn't have those big thighs. Then I would remove the skirt part with a model-editor and create a pelvis, because I think there is none under the skirt. I'd want to edit the bump texture to fit better.

Uh? Those big thighs are just about the best thing ever.

skirt model 's bone_root is near the foot, but bikini model's bone_root is the center.
there is no bone_root in the bikini model's hex data.
may be developers remove that. but why?

Maybe they never even added one. Look at the model's face it has less detail than the skirt model's face. Maybe they stopped the creation of this model sometime and made the skirt model, I guess. And still the thighs are just too big! :D

But overall that model is way better than the skirt one... It annoyed me the second I started the game as a female! ;)
They could have at least let the player decide which of the both models to use. Would also have provided with some varity, which is needed very much.

Would there be a way to just take the tunic off the regular female mesh so certain armour doesn't look so silly, or is it all one mesh?
Also, they should really have noticed the way the ponytail cuts through the collar on high sitting cuirasses....a bit annoying....

all one mesh. Not that i really care that much anymore now i have my darkelf hottie and can finally play the game again!
I hated that skirt mesh so much, after i had the bikini one ig, that i stopped playing all together... You know, knowing whats possible and then to have to use such a ugly one, is not my style.

Can anybody tell me how to do that step-by-step? I already did that successfully once but now I can remember. The new msh file keeps falling on the creatures folder instead of the female folder.
By the way, I looked at the msh files in note pad and I think all we need to figure out is which string groups are for the joints. I tried using the femalepc01.msh once and I think the only problem with it is walkspeed and camera. I tried hitting monsters and it's functional. No problem with the animation too.
