Does anyone know how to set the lighting level in a cave? Or for whole world if its possible?
When ever I open the cave in titan quest it always seem to be full bright :(

I'm at work right now without the editor but look under Effects in placeable items maybe?

I've gone through the lights and effects, and played around with some (I now have some nice shadows cast by the fire, etc...

But, none of my caves are dark :(

The only thing I can think of doing is setting up some kind of fog, but thats going to be tricky as I have an ATI card and can't see zones :(

Does any one have a dark cave???

Edit: I think it has to do with a fog/light sector (or zone, whatever they call it). Unfortunately this tool has some of the option off the bottom of the screen, so i can't be sure! Also, I can't see where I'm painting the zone (/me goes off to cry... :( )

This is the best I've been able to do. On the right you can see how it's done.

Dark cave. (http://www.saunalahti.fi/hanneku/marketplace5.jpg)

Also, the developers can see the problem with these fog zones in the image. You can't see where you've painted it.

Cheers, I had kinda guessed it was this setting, but on my screen (1024x768) the sky ambient colour and ground ambient colour are off the bottom of the screen :errf:

(also the ati problem, but hopefully there will be a patch soon!)

After selecting the sector paint tool and creating a new Fog/Lightning layer, click on the field labeled "Sector Paint Options". This will minimize this part, and you can see all "Fog/Lightning Options".

Check out the map for yourself if you want to see it in action. Unfortunately the entrance to the cave seems to be lit at all times as it's in a transition mode from above ground to underground.

Well, I have nice dark cave thanks to some fog. very satisfying so far.

Unfortunately, the fog seems to spill out through the portal to the nice sunny strand in front of the cave.

How to fix that?

How do you paint a Lighting Layer onto a grid? On terrain it works fine, but how am I supposed to darken my caves?

How do you paint a Lighting Layer onto a grid?
It works the same. Well, almost the same. The only difference is that the layer is under the grid tiles. You can't see it there in the editor. But If you paint outside the tiles it's visible.

I can't see the layer anyway -> ATI-Card :happy:
Thanks for the reply, Buckermann. Just found out that layers only don't work on a particular grid. Why that is - I've no idea. Maybe because I resized it...
Any other grid displays the lighting just right.

To paint fog in the whole cave, hold shift and doubleclick anywhere in the grid.

I suppose you might also unlock the camera and paint the fog from underneath?

By the way, I solved the fog spilling out of the cave problem by removing the fog from the entrance feature.

Well that sure saves a lot of trouble. Nice find!
