Hey guys I'm new in this game and I would appreciate some help with it.
I was thinking to start with storm because it looks cool and I like playing casters. My wish is to do maximum output dmg with him, so which second profession would you recommend? How should I fill my attributes and skills?
thx guys, some builds would be nice. ;)

If you're going caster you'll want to put a few points in dexterity (maybe like 10 attribute points max) and everything else in Intelligence.
I suppose you could use Nature as secondary mastery to help you survive. Dream would be good too I think.

I'd go with Spirit as secondary mastery. Invest everything in int except maybe 5 attrib points when you need them for the gear (you won't need any if you progress fast enough in the masteries, I rarely do with my casters however).
Search for Oracle, there are several threads / guides on them.

What about an elementalist.....pretty straight forward and your high INT benefits to both fire and electric/ice damage.

The downside of an Elementalist imo is that rather than having skills which complement each other, he has skills which compete with each other.
Both Earth and Storm offer lots of damage boosting skills (Earth Enchantment vs. Storm Nimbus tree) and elemental damage skills (Lightning vs. Volcanic Orb). You really only need one or the other, going for both will result in many skillpoints spent for little gain.
So you focus on the Storm or Earth side anyway and only add some parts of the other, but then there are better secondary masteries for both Earth and Storm (namely Spirit, Nature and Dream).

Dream would be a nice complement to Storm, but if your looking for the biggest bang for you buck, then Oracle would be the best. Using Squall + Tenions is a killer combo.
I started an Oracle. I have just finished Greece Normal. I always save some points to spend, but I've dropped all the rest in Int.
As for stat and skills, I went with Storm first, and began maxxing the Storm Nimbus line as a first priority - that means the skill itself and the two synergy skills above it. While doing this I tossed some points in Squall. I took Spirit at level 8 and slowly began working towards getting the pet - the Lich King. I didn't have the pet until level 16 as I only put one point at most in the Spirit mastery per level, reluctantly preferring to build my main damage output line instead.
Anyway, I'm happy with the build - much better than my first attempt where I went for Ternion first. I sell energy potions rather than have to buy them. I kill most mobs in one or two hits.
The downside of this build is that you don't get a bunch of toys to play with at the beginning and have to wait 15 levels or so to get your pet, but the nice part is its simple to play and very effective at the early levels.
Summary:
Priority #1 - Storm Nimbus and synergies
Priority #2 - Squall and synergies
Priority #3 - Just a few points in Lich and its synergies.
This should take someone through Normal.
BTW, it was suggested by Mamba that instead of building up the Lich from the ground up, instead spread the points between the pet and the synergies evenly over time.
I'd go with Spirit as secondary mastery. Invest everything in int except maybe 5 attrib points when you need them for the gear (you won't need any if you progress fast enough in the masteries, I rarely do with my casters however).

When you find the Oracle guide for the compendium, ignore the first page and look for mamba's advice, I think on the third page or so. I followed mamba's tips (see above) and am very happy with it, and I think it makes the most sense for the early levels/Normal at least.
That other build they were talking about in that thread - the -100% recharge looks fun too, if you like the idea of farming for equipment for a year or using a cheat mod to get the specific items you need for -100% recharge. Mamba's build just seems much more sensible and less humbug.

Since you brought it up, I decided to search for it, it is on page 5 ;)

Any chance you could put your info together for a seperate thread mamba? I think its a great guide, and being its based on the current build it should have its own slot in the compendium - that's the first place a lot of new players look.
If you're short on time, I'd be happy to help out with it.

I don't know what compendium you are talking about, but you are free to take my post and put it there. All my info is in that one post already anyway, all the other posts in the thread were discussions ;)
