Hi guys,
I have a Tyrants bow of harrowing and ive found that it works exceptionally well at killing bosses quickly. Even the epic manticore who normallly has good res against bow users fell within 15 secs. Is there any resistance against reduction to health?

Not sure, but I think vitality resistance might be. Someone else should confirm this as I'm not sure.

Im positive that most bosses (esp big ones like Manticore) hav 100% resistance to "% health reduction".. So i think its not the Harrowing that is the deal here.. Mayb its just that you have high dmg? ;).

I tried switching to bow of herakles which dramatically increases the base damage by about 1k and it took about 2mins longer to kill him. So i think that harrowing had a lot more to do with it than dmg output.

Do you have any form of debuff? (other than Study Prey cos it doesnt work w Harrowing) Like Shen Nong medicine or such stuffs.. Those can lower the resistance of bosses..

Haven't got any debuffs. I havent had to use COH,Plague or study prey yet, filling up the pet trees instead. I guess the wolves and nymph also reduce health but it still doesnt explain why the bow was so much more effective than herakles bow which does so much more dmg.

Don't know about Epic, but in Legendary all (?) bosses have 96% Resistance to Health Reduction...

So the best strategy would be to use plague and study prey to weaken them. Are those 101 reduced armour bonuses worthwhile?

Plague and Study Prey does not affect anything but Damage, Pierce (Study Prey only) and Elemental (Plague only) resistance, you need Squall or Trance of Wrath or something else with -% to All Resists...

I think only necrosis reduces the vitality resistance... Squall reduces ONLY elemental resistances. :|

Necrosis reduces Vitality, Life Leech and Bleed resistances.

Squall reduces ALL resistances.

Even vitality resistances? Hmmm...
Maybe. I found that I could drain life from squalled skeletons, but non-squalled were immune to this...

The only idea why the bosses fall so much faster that I have, apart from the original poster overseeing some kind of debuff, is that somehow +total damage increase %life reduction by great amounts. Just some weird theory...

Loads of health and high HP regeneration?

How do those Bone Charmer spear wielders exploit -% health reduction so effectively on Legendary (killing Hydra in 2 secs with 11-20 damage spear, etc)? I know Take Down and -100% Recharge provides the spammed -% reduction to health. But what overcomes the resistance? It can only be Necrosis, surely? Or was it from an earlier version that has since been nerfed?

Necrosis doesn't affect the 96% Resistance to Health Reduction that Legendary bosses have, so I don't know...

Hmmm. I can't think of anything else that a Bone Charmer gets that would allow such damage with a starter spear. For those unfamiliar with it, here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUb6fmWoVQY&feature=related) is a sample video of what I'm talking about. OK, it's 5 seconds to kill the Hydra, not 2. But still...

He's obviously got -100% Recharge, and maxed Take Down with Exploit Weakness, Art of the Hunt and some +% Pierce Damage gear can be pretty devastating. Add Unearthly Power and Study Prey and it becomes even stronger.

Not at all certain if this is what he's doing though...

I think necrosis can lower boss' resistances to health (-% resistances to vitality). When I was fighting Manticore on legendary I only hit him several times. Almost every hit came from my lich and outsider. Recorded a movie with this action. 20 seconds to kill Manticore. And I don't own superb gear!

The Liche King has an awesome de-buff in Soul Blight so that's probably what lowered his resists... ;)
