Pure caster, how are they?

I've played a character up to lvl 35, mostly specced in Earth, but with some points in the Rogue tree. As long as I let my Core Dweller pull the mobs it was all very easy. Energy consumption do cause a bit a problem, but it's working out ok. Armor could also be a bit troublesome. Would hate to build a character only to find out that it's not all that good at the higher levels.

I'm curious though, how is it to play a pure caster? Any problems with the Mana not being enough? Do you use the staff most of the time, with the occasional spell thrown in there? Or do you spam a lot of spells and use a good amount of Energy potions. Do you die easily?

Storm is only let's you play pure mage, because Ice Shard dont has a cool down, and it's cheap mana to cast then other Earth, Spirit, ect. But you will die easy if lot of enemy using Bow and arrow if you are standing there later in level.

Thats a load of crap!

Spirt's pure caster is just fine and so is earth. It just takes a bit longer to get to achieve the power you can with storm

+ like the swords of warriors and bows of ranged characters you get staves that can do a crap load of damage.

Thoes become your main for of attack for some characters then you toss off some powerful spells to destroy groups of enemies.


earth has a pretty good spell that you can make instant cast.

Well, I did play Spirit, and use Life Drain, they eat Mana fast If you play fair, (there some bug report, it's dont cost a mana and dont rechanged) and waiting for rechanged, meaning I dont use it much, while I use staff lot, so unable to use it's every second as long mana support, then it's not called pure mage. Spirit is just more likely half so half so not.

To be pure Mage, you need to cast Spell at will without any of your weapons even your staff.

.... pure caster means you dont use swords,shields bows or warrior class armor..

Pure casters would be classes that don't use anyhting but magic projectiles..

aka a staff...

if you run outa mana with storm magic and are forced to use your staff did you just break the "pure caster" illusion?

Indeed. The staves in this game has a magic attack. And pure casters use magic.
