View Full Version : Anyone tried Take Down + Shield Charge?

Going to whip myself up a Warden here and was wondering if anyone has had any success using Shield Charge PLUS Take Down for zipping from one enemy to the next? Will I be wasting points or is it a good idea?

well, zipping around like that is going to use a lot of energy up - and as a warden you'll be pumping your STR/DEX so you wont have much int.

I think you'll find you will just auto attack / batter everything and then shield charge the occasional caster / trap that is annoying you.

Take-down is also widely regarded as a pretty crap spell ><

Unless you got an enegy leeching spear then its ok...

Normal attack+shield procs+batter is much better, and if you want to dash in with Take Down you only hit 1 target, not as good as Shield Charge...

is take down really a good skill for a bone charmer? im kind of wondering how its going to scale in epic and legendary. anyone know how it works in those difficulties? im a lvl 9 spear bone charmer right now and its working wonders.

Take Down is a great skill for a Bone Charmer. HOWEVER, you'll need items with -resists for it work well... Incarnation of the Monkey king's Trickery is a must...

Nope... ;)

You should focus as much gear as possible towards Vitality damage (%Reduction to enemy's health) and -resists...

I love having both Take Down and Shield Charge on my Warden. Just 1 point in each. Its good for a) quickly closing on casters or archers so you take much less damage on the way, b) for mobility like getting out of a crowd when you are getting swamped, and c) it is just way more fun than walking. :nerd:

I can't see any reason not to have just 1 point in both.

Now this thread made me wonder: Is there any gear that grants either one of Shield charge, War Wind or Take Down. Providing you find gear with one of them, you can combine the classes of the other two and then be able to use ALL 3!!! How cool would that be? So does any gear grant one of those?

I'm using both on my warden, having no problem with energy at all. Rally + synergy takes care of that.
I have maxed shield charges tree completely, because I often use it as a better Batter and to disable enemies with dangerous or annoying skills (Dactyls).
I use Take Down (1 point, no synergy) a bit less, mostly to run faster. This works especially well on the way to Hades, quite often those helpful daemons help me run down the stairs.

By the way, if you abort the actual attack of Take Down, clicking on the groung right after the charge, then the cooldown will be activated, but no energy is used.

You mean after you cast Take Down and start running? Then you click away right before you reach them so energy won't be used?

Haha, then your experience bar wouldn't show improvement which I feel is not so beneficial... :lol:
