Oracle: where to go from here?

All,

I've been reading all the Oracle posts, and my main reason for playing Oracle is for the Ternion attack. I'm not saying its best ... I wouldnt know really. I just like the idea. So, I want to combine the Storm Nimbus line with it.

Now, I notice the other builds I see (I started my Oracle before reading them) go for Squall first. However, at this point, I have already maxed Storm Nimbus, put 1 in Heart of Frost, and I have maxed Ternion Attack (the base ability). I'm only level 10.

I'm duoing with a lowbie Melee Diviner, btw.

So, I'm wondering if I'm off to a bad start? Also, I notice lots of Ternion users skip Storm Nimbus and go more for maxing the synergies.

So I am wondering:

1) Should I pull points out of Storm Nimbus and pump other stuff? Or is it OK to max it?

2) I wanted to max all of the Storm Nimbus synergies since I have a nice Cold Staff to pass down but I'm wondering if I should respec and only max Static Charge?

3) Was it a mistake to go Ternion? Or to start so soon? Ternion is the reason I want to play the character, though, but I'm unsure.

In an ideal world in my head, I want to max the Nimbus line and the Ternion line, then max the Squall Line, then push either for the Outsider or just start pumping the Lich King. Thats kinda the order I WANT to go.

If that's what you want, go for it.

You'll find a lot of people max squall early, because early on it's devistating. You'll kill large groups in 1 second, but if you want to take a different route, there is nothing wrong with that.

This is a remake of an Oracle I used to have way back in the early days of TQ. He was only in the upper 20s. I believe he maxed Squall first and then went with Ternion also. For better or worse (worse, prob) I seem to be re-building him in the opposite path. I would have just kept him except I was stupid and invested a TON of points in stats other than Int, so he couldnt be respeced. I wish there were stat respec. :)

I'm also going ternion instead of squall. So far, it's amazing. Note though, that you have to max ternion's syngery called arcane lore as soon as possible. I didn't know what arcane lore did until I read about it - it basically makes every three shots of your ternion hit in a radius and it makes it absolutely devastating for taking down groups. Once arcane lore is maxed, your ternion spray will leave nothing living behind it.

I only did heart of frost once I maxed arcane lore. I just finished maxing the base ternion skill now (level 22) to get the maximum damage output, and it's just sick.
