Well, compared to other classes that is.

Im thinking of forgoing the healing though...why? I just think it would make the gameplay more interesting and seat of my pants you know?

Looks like plague and squall have some nice synergies though.

Was wondering how well this would work? It looked like fun.

Basically I thought id try stacking squall+plague+high casting speed increases from gear and spam ice shards. on my elementalist i have 217% casting speed at level 31 and maxed most of my +cold and +elemental damage modifiers. Making me kill even bosses in mere seconds. Only having stoneform and freezing blast as my survivability.

Another idea, make a paladin for the health increase and colossuss form, then put all your other points into storm, That way i could get all i want out of storm hehe

I'd say play your Elementalist thru legendary before jumping to conclusions, any build can dominate normal up to level 31 or so (i.e. until he reaches Typhon).

This is not to say that you will have difficulties with him, just that noone will have difficulties before ;)

The real test will be the 2nd half of legendary however.

imo there is nothing wrong with Plague, Squall and Thunderball, but I never liked Ice Shards, they suck too much energy and are no better than late game staffs (which makes them great in the early game but their lead is continuously shrinking).

Personally I never used Freezing Blast and have very little experience with Spell Breaker, no idea how those hold up (for me SB never did anything anyway, which is why I respecced it).

Oh, imo you should definitely max Static Charge.

as already stated in some other threads, squall + spellbreaker = bosskiller ;)

but yep, freezing blast really sucks because of its 85% damage absorption feature

-100% recharge druid at level 42 feels like cheating.

Chain lightning at this level is rediculous. Max briar ward prevents you from being hit and most groups are 1 shotted by the chain lightning. If I knew how powerful chain lightning was at this level, I think would have been using it at -84% recharge.

Well, any build which is already equipped with the best gear the game has to offer at level 42 will feel like cheating.

You are at the beginning of epic and use the best legendary gear after all ;)

I've played a couple casters since I got this gear. This one feels the most powerful. I think it's the briar ward, because unlike all my other casters, I don't have to play perfect to prevent from getting beat up.
