Hello Developers,
you made a great game I really like it but games like this one live of being played
online and the online mode is really buggy and the fact that the character is saved on the computer is really bad because it will be a paradise for cheater and after severel weeks many cheaters will play online. What I want to say is that I miss something like the closed Battle.net where the savegames are saved on the server so the characters cannot be manipulated. That would make the game perfetc becaue to play all time alone isn't as funny as playing with many guys online !

Maby they thought that since the game is coop PvE only, theres no way for cheaters to ruin for you. They are only ruining the game for themselves. Its pvp that never would have worked without a secure official server.
Its one of the dead horse issues. They wanted closed servers but they are a new company and couldn't afford them (blizzard had some games under their belt).

But they have a publisher and even the german publisher Ascaron could make a closed bnet for Sacred and this company isn't as well-off as Blizzard. PvP could also be very funny it's kinda necessary to mess who has the better character but at first a Closed server is necessary !

im sometimes wondering whos betatesting games like this and is saying its ok like that
btw sacred is still buggy as diablo2 was at release :knockout:
if you want to create a game wich is comercial sucessfull for a long run you need a perfect multiplayer else its a 1 month good seller...in 1 year nobody will talk about titanquest anymore :(
still hope for a addon with closed net and a ladder

Yes , you say it otherwise in one month nobody will play this online... so I hope that they will work at the multiplayerpart.. that it can hold on with Diablo. But at least Sacred has a good multiplayerpart , it has a closed server so there are no cheaters.

I played Diablo 2 for a year or two and never played on Battle.net.

I'm guessing the majority of people who buy these games do not spend any signifigant time playing with strangers on the closed servers. Just because a group of players are extremely vocal doesn't automatically make them the target audience.
The development costs of a new AAA title is sky-high, and having to maintain a large server installation only adds to it. Publishers don't want to risk much on development teams that have not yet proven themselves. Not to mention that the more a publisher puts into a production the more control they will want to have over development.

Pure SP players of Diablo 2 Probobly never posted on the forums at all, same for Lan-only players like myself and my family members, we never posted on a Blizzard forum yet we were just as much gamers as the Battle.net people who scream on the forums day and night.

Well , at all it would be a good add if they improve the multiplayerpart so they make the game more attractiv for online gamers because this game has much potential. Perhaps they can set up a closed server with a new patch...

Any improvements done to the single player game would also be present in the Multiplayer potion, and this is why the Developers said they will focus mainly on the single player portion of the game.

Oh and as for Sacred.net their servers are laggy as hell and not even supported! They are down a lot of the time as well and nobody plays on them only on open nowadays! Their game is still a buggy mess. Wait for Sacred 2, there might be hope since it supposebly sold 1.6 million copies!

well like the battlenet sacred.net is not hosting the games its just showing the clients where the hsot is located (ip...) and saving the chars online...if you have lag isues please check to try anotehr host ^^
oh well maybe im wrong but thats how d2 bnet works and its the cheapest method i can imagine for a server provider

I've found Sacreds multiplayer to be pretty low in latency.
There is the occasional crash and hiccup, but that has more to do with a small German company trying to make a huge game in English.
The biggest delimiting factor for Sacred is the fact that its the first game made by a very small German company that hardly got any press.

Well now the game is very popular and they can invest more money in Sacred2. We'll see..

So can a developer perhaps say if there will be a kinda closed battle.net ?
