So I just started playing, and I have hit lvl 8...now what should I do, I have maxed (or 11 points, don't remember) psionic strike, I put one point into the trance of empathy and I believe the rest are into the mastery itself, what would be a good complementary mastery to that kind of build, I will more or less be running a melee style, but I am open to changes if necessarry...thanks in advance.

Possibly Defense.
Warfare is also pretty good for a Dreamer, but if you do that, you'd want to remove all the points from Psionic Touch.
Thing about Dream is that it seems to synergize well with anything.

I second Defense if you want to go the melee route, I would not max Psionic Touch that early tho (or maybe ever, I am now level 42 and still have one point in it only, there is so much better stuff available ;) ), Phantom Strike and Dream Stealer are way more important to me, that is what I maxed first (at least Dream Stealer, you can move slow on Phantom Strike itself if you want to, I have DS maxed asap and at least 7 or 8 points in PS by about level 30).
As was said, Dream works nicely with just about any mastery, most builds I would come up with would be melee builds, the sole exception being Storm, there I would go the caster route. So which mastery you choose mostly depends on where your preferences are, for a melee build Templar (Dream + Defense) is a great combination tho, moreso than Dream + Warfare.

Forget level 8. It is not a requirement, merely an option. I've taken Pure Dreamers through Normal without difficulty. This will give you a chance to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of your character so you can then make an informed decision about your second mastery.

Yeah, I didn't take the second mastery on my Dream character until late Act IV in Normal.

Exactly where I did though mine (level 31 in Hades Normal) and I decided to pick Spirit (yeah for a Melee Build) cause with all the skill I will be using in Dream I couldn't even think of going Defense Route. Warfare doesn't sound that good to me the other option was probably an Hunter but since I was playing with a Brigand I can already have the Hunter Buff/Debuff

OK, so my guy is now lvl 23 and I kinda have an Idea as to what I'd like to do, just don't know the proper mastery that I'm looking for...I want to do a melee build still, but I'd like to have a build that has a quality pet nice passives (or energy reserves) attacks that either do vitality or electrical burn (to maximize lucid dream's effectiveness) and one that raises the survivability (but that is the least important to me) ... I was thinking about spirit, but was wondering what a few others would be...a little more about my character, he has ToW maxed, 8 points in Psi touch, 4 in it's synergy, 1 pt in lucid dream, 3 points in Distort reality (is this one actually good into epic and legendary) and 6 in nightmare...

Spirit the only on that does and effects vitality damage as for electrical burn no mastery will boost it directly. Spirit also has a total -resist debuff via lich king level 5+ that will boost all damage that that mob will take.
The other mastery is Hunting, with Study Prey for -X damage and pierce resist and its upgrade Flush Out which will increase your electrical burn via its -X elemental damage.
from what you posted Spirit be the better mastery for you IMO.

You could go melee Ritualist (Dream+Nature). Wolves, Heart of Oaks buffs your whole party while Plague is the debuff.
I personally would go melee Diviner, as I love boss killer builds. Deathchill Aura is probably godsend for melee builds.
