I normally play the game on my PC, but I also run it on my laptop. My laptop only has a GeForce 4200 Go, but that exceeds the minimum specifications.

So I've run the game a number of times, and recently decided to run it in windowed mode since some people say it actually runs better that way. I have to agree, it did seem to run better.

Then I close the game and restart it, and it gives this error message:

FATAL ERROR: The current system does not meet the minimum graphics card specifications and will be unable to run Titan Quest. Please upgrade the system before attempting to run again.

Ok, first of all, this error message is wrong. The laptop DOES meet the minimum graphics card specifications, and the game HAS run many times just fine. I am guessing that this is connected to my switch to windowed mode, but how am I supposed to change this now since I can't even get booted into the game?

I was able to get the game loaded again by going to:

My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\Settings\options.txt

Then I changed fullscreen from false to true.

But this is still an erroneous error message that should be fixed.

Keep in mind, laptop graphic chipsets are heavly modified by the laptop manufacture. You will never get a full Nvidia chipset in a laptop as you would the AGP or PCI E card.

Just the way it goes with propriatary systems.

I have a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 on my Dell, but it only accepts the GoDell driver and doesnt even come close to the same GeForce Ti 4200 on my PC regarding performance or glitches.

When Civ 4 came out, it woudldnt work on the Dell, but worked fine with my PC. Note, both PC and Dell had the SAME Nvidia chipset, advertised, but just sadly not the case. Eventually Civ4 got patched and the laptop "chipsets" worked fine after that.

We have asked some folks with this issue with the x series cards to run a diagnostic program for us and have found that in some cases (but not all) the graphics check is returning with false information from the card which seems to be the root of this problem.

Now that we have identified the problem a fix is in the works.
