i have been using this forum alot during my free time (when i cant get to play TQ) and have decided to join this community!
any DWing Conquerer out there in epic or legendary that can give some feedback on how your processing? any info is helpful. for my current conquerer is only at lvl34, start of act4.
PS: reason for DWing, Style over Substance..!

I have done a DW build and I think most of the folks on here will say to go with the shield skills under defensive instead. That aside, I think DW is fun as you get to use two cool weapons instead of one. You can also have fun with 4 weapons as you can keep two others on the switch. DW is fairly strainghtforward as you will want to max all the DW skills. For me I try to do this as quickly as possible. I put a priority at getting my build to Crosscut and Tumult as they hit multiple targets for free. War wind is also good for this, as you will need ways to kill multiple mobs at once. Battle standard helps with bosses.
Defense, will not have all that much to offer you as the prime skils there are for shield users. This is why most of my DWers have a different second mastery. You do get a ton of HP and good stats from the 32 points in defense. Not to mention Colossus, Armor handling, and such.
For me the build is far more equipment dependent than others. Great equip will make it easy. So-so will make it quite a challenge.
Have fun!

Reason for going DW is because DW actually gives more damage when compared to Shield.
If you notice, shield proc like disable, does damage through the shield only, while Shield smash actually hits with both weap and shield. but both to a single foe. Pulverise on the other hand, hits 3 foe. (as of skill description, correct me if i am wrong)
However in the DW tree things are different. All moves under the DW tree uses both weap, thus greatly increases the damage output. Move like crosscut that hits 2 foe, ea with 2 hits, sum up to four, thats like 4 hits in a sec. Warwind at max will hit 7 foe, ea 2 hits, 14 hits total in a sec!twisted:
lets not forget tumult and Hew! right now my conquerer is using a folg with another mace and i must say that the thunderclap happens much much more ofthen thanwhen i am using a shield combo. (used to think that folg has a long cooldown timer)
Of course, DW gives you more options when wielding weap. if you're a stunner meaning mace + warhorn + Concussive blow, you no longer have to stick to a mace, (or if you like switchng weap before a warhorn) but have the ease of being able to wield a mace and another weap of your choice:happy:
in terms of survivability, DW can never match that of a shield wielder, but defense can be built up using another measure. namely dogde attacks, or perhaps hp regen. You can use 2 persephone's instead of 1 etc. da at maxed 12/8 will give you an awesome 30% to dodge! + some additional dodgy items you can evade incoming attacks almost half the time. and thats even b4 considering your Defence Ability.

Uh, shields actually do way more damage than weapons in general, and as a conquerer your Onslaught bonus to damage applies to your shield too.

I agree with infares, actually the description of the shield fighting skills are not very accurate. if i remember correctly, all shield fighting techniques (including disable and pulverize) will cause you to hit with both the shield and the weapon (you can check by the increase in onslaught ring when the shield techniques appear) and hence onslaught bonus both apply and shield - sword combo actually deal more damage IMO. however, dw is pretty fun because it gives me the feeling of a berserk barbarian
