lvl 32 character at risk

Ok so was given a pirated copy Titan quest pre-release. Now before i am shot and killed and dragged into the street, i bought the game the day of release. Now i got to lvl 32 on my char. And when i uninstalled the pirated version and installed the official version and changed the cd-key. For some reason all my characters stopped working, i had backed them all up and stuff and its all in the folder. Can i get any help here or is this an S.O.L. situation brought on by piracy?

There was a guy working on this earlier and I don't think he made any progress before his thread was closed.

I believe you could change your cdkey in the registry back to the cracked copy's cdkey and play with that character. But you won't be able to play online.

Basically your character is keyed to a specific CD-Key. So, if you want to play with your pirated character then you have to use the pirated versions CD-Key.

Good luck but I'd just recommend starting over so you can play multiplayer.
