Problems with installation
Make sure you check the disks for scratches. Faulty disks can be returned for replacements.
Update the firmware on your optical drive.
Remove all files from your Temp directories ([drive letter]\Temp, Windows\Temp, and \documents and settings\[your username]\local settings\Temp), do a fresh boot on your machine, turn off all programs, including anti-virus software and background processes, and try to install again.
Failure to start (Graphics engine could not be initialized)
TQ does not support integrated graphics or the GeForce MX series of cards.
We are investigating problems recognizing ATI cards (X300, X700, X800, etc.). If you are using one of these cards and are able to start the game, please let us know what driver version you are using. (I use a mobility X300 and the 6.14.10.6483 drivers)
Doing a complete removal of the graphics driver (using a tool from the chipset manufacturer), then updating to the latest drivers and re-booting your machine has worked for some people.
Uninstalling and re-installing TQ has worked for some people.
For some people, the Omega drivers work and the Catalyst drivers do not.
Crashes on machines with RealTEK audio
We are investigating this problem.
In the meantime, disabling hardware sound acceleration may work. http://vnboards.ign.com/titan_quest_tech_support/b23097/97552744/p1/?0
Disabling sound from the Options menu may temporarily work.
SecuROM error messages and frequent crashes at seemingly random times
Make sure you do not have any emulation tools or processes open, even in the background. Here is a list of programs that may cause problems:
Alcohol 120%, Blind Write, Daemon Tools, Game Jack, CloneCD, Game Jackal, Xoom Game Clone, CD Space, Virtual 7 CD, Fantom CD, Anti Blacxx and certain versions of Nero (that create virtual drives).
You should not have to remove these programs, just make sure there are no active processes running.
This post may also help: http://forums.eu.atari.com/showpost.php?p=704194&postcount=3
Lag over LAN
Make sure TQ has all privileges in your firewall settings.
Turning off Zone Alarm has fixed the problem for some people.
Lag over Internet and failure to connect
There are a number of optimizations for this going into the patch.
Sharing a cd-key or using a cd-key downloaded off the internet will prevent connection to other players over the internet.
If you are behind a router, update the firmware for your router.
If you want to open up or forward ports, these are the ports that TQ uses:
42,800
49,152 – 49,172
49,272 – 49,292
Problems using voice chat (TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Xfire)
This is a known issue. It will not be addressed in the first patch. It is on our list for future patches.
We recommend that you turn off all other programs when running TQ for best results.
Mouse jerkiness and/or lack of cursor
Make sure you are not running any programs in the background that alter the output of your mouse (accelerators, etc.). Again, we recommend not running any other programs while playing TQ. This may require you to remove programs from your system tray and/or process list.
Some people have reported that running in Windowed mode fixes this.
Textures become corrupted/disappear
We are investigating this.
Make sure you have up-to-date drivers (see above notes).
Make sure your video card is not overheating.
Cannot continue due to character corruption
This is a side-effect of crashes. Eliminating the crashes will eliminate character corruption.
There will be an auto-backup feature in the patch.
Some people have reported that deleting the "fow" folder in the saved game directory for the character will fix this.
Some people have reported that deleting the .que files will fix this, but it will erase all of your quest data.
Character missing after re-install/transfer
Transferring characters between installations with different cd-keys is not supported.
Make sure you have all of the files in the correct directories.
Problems with performance/crashing on dual-core machines
We are investigating this.

Thank you devs for posting this, I sure it will help many, and for those of us still having issues it lends great confidence that what's wrong will soon be made right.
Posters. If you find a workaround or fix to a known problem, add it here!

This is good but I wish the performance concerns would be addressed. The graphics card overheating is funny because I've noticed this game really pumps the GPU up like crazy. Hoping the 1st patch comes quickly and fixes a lot of known problems.

Just so you devs know. The sound issue is not only for realtek machines. I have a soundblaster 5.1 live. And the sound is messed up and sometimes make the game crash. It occur everytime the game load something, portals, entering a new area such as caves or cities, and when you get into alot of mobs, or when a new music part start to play. (when the hard drive makes the "work" sound if you know what i mean)
and btw do you have any ETA on the patch?

Thanks guys.
I will add another Tech Issue and fix (mentioned in that thread (http://www.titanquest.net/technical-corner/1251-security-module-error-purchased-copy.html))
Issue: I got the message "A required security module can not be activated. this program can not be executed." and can't play the game.
Fix: this is a SecuROM issue (common issue even).
SecuROM knows about it and issued a "fix" that I found here (http://forum.curerom.net/showthread.php?tid=50) (yes, if I'm right that's the forum of a tool used to bypass SecuROM  but it gives the fix unlike the SecuROM support page (http://www.securom.com/support_enduser.asp?t=2&ts1=4))
SecuROM Security Module Fix
According to the SecuROM team this should fix the "A required security module can not be found" error. Here is what to do:
To fix it, please download and install a tool called SubInACL here (http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/7/d/17d82b72-bc6a-4dc8-bfaa-98b37b22b367/subinacl.msi). We recommend to install this tool into your Windows installation path (e.g. C:Windows) to make the further steps easier for you.
Next please download the following batch file here (http://www.securom.com/support/fixreg.bat).
or
More convenient this VB-Script here (http://www.securom.com/support/fixreg.vbs)
After you did this try to run your game again.
For an hint on what it does, to someone asking "I would be interested to know what it actually does to my system?" it was answered (on CureROM forums in the aforementioned thread)
simply allows access to the registry keys you blocked using other anti* programs, anti-blaxx and the like, editing the vbs or the bat file clearly shows you what its doing
PS: removed the "/w" in the thread title and stickied it :)

This is the first bit of usefull info I've seen on the issues so far...
But the fixes don't make me happy ....I mean turn of the audio??
Yeah we don't need no stinkin' sound with the game...we're all deaf anyways.
Sorry that was a bit sarcastic, but I really hope your looking into a fix for it.
But still don't see any mention about working on a fix for when the game freezes up for a couple seconds....and this happens to a lot of players.
Like many I have a good system with up to date drivers for Video, sound, etc.
Since I've seen a lot of people mention this issue I'm sure it doesn't happen to a select few....and I bet if there were a poll made you'd get the idea how many.
Please fix the game freeze issue.
Ohh! one last thing just earlier today while in MP on line in a cave opened up a trade window.....BAM crash to desktop....no warning at all.
This is not system related it's the game!

El-Kabong, he said to shut off the acceleration for audio, not the sound.
Also, for all of those "issues" you mentioned, they ARE looking into them. The majority of players have Dual-core computers, and the game is currently having problems with dual-cores.

It seems that the zlib data compression library should be updated in a patch too. =)
The game uses 1.2.2 of zlib
http://www.zlib.net/
Current release:
zlib 1.2.3
July 18, 2005
Version 1.2.3 eliminates potential security vulnerabilities in zlib 1.2.1 and 1.2.2, so all users of those versions should upgrade immediately. The following important fixes are provided in zlib 1.2.3 over 1.2.1 and 1.2.2:
* Eliminate a potential security vulnerability (http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/238678) when decoding invalid compressed data
* Eliminate a potential security vulnerability (http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/680620) when decoding specially crafted compressed data
* Fix a bug when decompressing dynamic blocks with no distance codes
* Fix crc check bug in gzread() after gzungetc()
* Do not return an error when using gzread() on an empty file
I also suggest updating the miles sound library as well if possible as standard might be some sound bugs crash fixes there.
STL_Port is up to version 5.10rc1.

temp fix: lower titan quests priority, this doesnt usually take anything from the game, only if you're running high-demand applications in the background.

Another one you might wanna add to your first post Chooch, a problem I was having and I read someone else was having was that the game will not respond to any commands during the opening cinematics, forcing you to go through them every time you start the game.
fix: go to (drive):\Program files\THQ\Titan Quest\videos
Remove all the files in the videos folder, save them somewhere if you want or just delete them. The game will go straight to the start menu.
Probably a few of you might want to do this even if you are not having any problems, I have done this with several other games just cause it is so much faster to just have the game start on the opening menu.

Random Crash to desktop fix:
Try playing the game in windows98/ME compatibility mode if you're getting random crashes.
->mark titan quest.exe->rightclick->settings->compatibility->mark windows98/me compatiblity mode->ok
...play the game with less or no crashs to desktop

Can a mod take out the '/w' at the end of the title, please? Might help to sticky this, too.
Issue: I can't hear weapon sounds!
Fix: Make sure your system is set for the correct amount of speakers. If your computer is setup for 5.1 surround sound, but you have headphones on, the weapon sound will be sent to a center channel that does not exist.
Issue: My mouse lags!
Fix: Make sure you're not running programs that might be hooked into the mouse, such as Fraps (a video capture program) or Hypershot (a screen capture program).
Issue: I have RealTek Audio and the game is crashing!
WorkAround: http://vnboards.ign.com/titan_quest_tech_support/b23097/97552744/p1/?0
Issue: I'm having multiplayer issues, what ports does Titan Quest use?
Answer: 42,800, 49,152 - 49,172, 49,272 - 49,292
Issue: My character got corrupted and will no longer load!
WorkAround:
- Open My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\SaveData\Main\[CHARACTERNAME]\Levels_World_World01.map\Normal
- Sort the directory by "date modified"
- Delete the latest created .que file
- Try to load the character again (this may reset some quest data)
NOTE: This bug is fixed in the first patch, which we're trying to get into player hands asap.
Hey. Fix my goddamn frame issues. This game runs like molassess during the night and in temples/caves. I didn't get a high end rig so I can shell out 50 beans for unstable games. Demo was fine, why the hell is the retail in the crapper?

In my case it is actually the CPU that gets unusually hot. I have a P IV 2.8 and afterabout one and a half hours it reaches 58 to 60 degrees C. Even simulations like Lock-On can't do that to my CPU. An average temp for my CPU on load is normally around 50 C...

Ok I have devised a little patched executable file for the game that fixes about 95% of the crashes that I have been having. Before rerunning the game please place your dialogs file back into its home directory if you removed it before following my previous advise. I’ve seen that most of the problems are in the main executable and since that is the easiest file for me to try to fix, I have. Please back up the original file and put it in a backup directory so that you can replace it at a later time. Please enjoy and hope it works as it dose for me. Simply take the Titan quest executable and replace it with the current one that is in the titan quest home directory making sure to make your own back up copy of the original. also note this is for the Full version only. Doesn’t work with the demo. Please let me know if it works. One last note. I am in no way affiliated with Titan quest, THQ, or any of its affiliated partners or sponsors. They are not responsible for anything from the use of this file and furthermore they will not have any tech support for this file. It is an Unofficial personal patch of my own that I just wanted to share with others. If you like it please leave your feed back and other bugs not fixed and I will look into it since they seem to take a long ass time to make a patch hehe.
Known issues:
Entering a cave while the map is open can cause blue screen of death if running more then one display.
Exiting the game can still cause CTD but doesn’t hurt anything to the game or save files.
Changing the shadow and detail levels together at the same time while playing a game can cause a CTD.
This only works with the original game disk in the drive that you PURCHESED*
This doesn’t help with marital problems. If anything, it can cause more problems then you already had since the game works as intended now :shifty:
Enjoy
Mashif
I just wanted to add. Patch guys if you use my coding of this file and I find it in a future patch without asking me i'll cut your balls off. Make your own :D

I reactivated my level 13 character by deleting all the .que and map file (becaus it was corrupted too). BUT this has some sideeffects that maybe can cause problems in the later game.
Q: What happens when you delete all the .que & map file?
A: The questlog is reseted, also the map and you start nearly fresh game at Helos.
Q: What is the sideeffects you are speaking of?
A: The sideeffect is you can redo all quests and get all rewards again. What surprised me the most is, i also got a second backpack when arriving at Megara. So the game doesn't check if you still got the backpack. Yes i was forced to delete the quest files and the map to rescue my charcter, but on the other hand this is a very simple way to exploit!
I hope that these sideeffects don't affect the gameplay & character later in game!
Cheers,
Maledicus.

Be sure you are not just running the program from the desktop. you need to move it to the titan quest home directory where the files are stored replacing the origanal Titan Quest.exe file. Ive also seen that on certian computer configurations you might need to right click my file and under the compatability tab change it to windows 98 mode. This seems to fix the " Not a win32 application" error.

Ok no problem then. I did craft this around my computer's spec's. So maybe the porblems I was running into was only for my type of system setup.
Also just to point out I have a DVD version of the game. Not sure if there is any other type released yet but that could cause problems as well.

Well I played with a few things and potentially have a work-around until the game is patched for my CTD issue. So far I've gone from crashing almost every time I talked to a merchant and crashing during music changes, with a max play session of about 30 minutes, to playing for a number of hours without incident. I hope this works for others.
Rename the .\MilesRedist\mssmp3.asi file so that it will not be picked up. (eg, mssmp3.asi.disabled) This results in all MP3 audio in the game, dialogue and music, being disabled.
While annoying you at least still get SFX. I'd earlier been renaming all of the audio archives so that there was no audio but I really didn't want to stay with that. Also don't be confused into thinking that because you were getting dialogue and music before that your audio is working fine.

Greeting
I have had problems with the error-message "No disc inserted, please insert original Titan Quest CD/DVD" and found a fix for this as I know that other people from this forum also have the same problem.
Copied from the SecuROM supportpage
"No disc inserted."
SecuROMâ„¢ has determined there is no disc in a local physical drive. Please refer to the following procedure to remedy:
* If you can find the disc in your Windowsâ„¢ Explorer, there could be a software conflict.
* A possible cause might be a CD/DVD burning software which uses the DLA (drive letter access) technology. You can disable DLA following these steps:
1. Click Windowsâ„¢ "Start" and select "Run"
2. Type "cmd" to get the command prompt and hit Enter/OK
3. Type "dla disable e:" where "e:" is the drive's assigned letter
* If the problem persists, please contact support@securom.com.
This worked for me, hope this can sort out any problems for anyone else :)

Acer Aspire 9504 WSMI
- Intel Pentium M processor 760
2.0 Ghz, 533 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 CACHE
- ATI Mobility Radeon X700 PCI Express with 256 MB RAM (Using Omega drivers for more FPS)
- 1GB DDR2 (support dual channel)
- And the problem itself: Realtek High Definition Audio Card.

So, i guess there is no fix for in-game crash with Realtec audio? I have Realtec High Defintion audio (onboard on my Intel MB), and the game crashes in dialogues with NPC... Hi how you doin. I work with reloaded. this is not for a pirated version this is for the full version. Now this thread will probley get closed because you had to run you mouth about something that you know nothing about. So I removed to link to the file in hopes this thread will stay open.
Well all I can say is that without this file I would not be playing at all,I have no copying software at all on my PC (except windows copy, which you cannot get rid of as far as I know) and I could not play as I kept getting the security box message.using the reloaded file I can play and have got my char to level 28 with onlt a few random crashes, which as a hard core scared player I am used to lol.So thanx Mashif for enabling me to play the game I spent £34.99 on.

Here is where I have a problem:
-snip-
Issue: I got the message "A required security module can not be activated. this program can not be executed." and can't play the game.
Fix: this is a SecuROM issue (common issue even).
That's just flat out WRONG!. It may be a problem caused by Securom but it IS most definately a THQ issue. It is their game and their responsibility to ensure that an anti piracy tool does not prevent legit owners from running the program.
I just installed the game and when I try to run it I get the "please insert original cd" message. So I can't play it.
So, the THQ people need to get with securom, figure out the problem and get it fixed or release some sort of patch that disables/removes securom.
An end user should NOT have to jump through hoops trying to figure out how get a program they paid for to work because Securom is preventing it.
These kinds of issues do NOT prevent hacking, instead they just encourage otherwise lawful users to look for a way to break the anti pirate protection so they can play a game they payed for.

That's sad, but for all i know and experienced, true :(
I hope that they fix the crashes, that's definetly their "fault" - other games work without problems, just this one crashes without even giving a damn on logging what caused the crash  :shifty:
This sucks. My character just got corrupted from a crash. Tried deleting .que files, even from yesterday, and I deleted the FOW folder too. I can log in, I respawn at the latest fountain, but I don't have old quests. Fine. Whatever, no old quests in my log to reflect fondly upon. No biggy. BUT I CAN PICK UP NEW ONES!!! What's the deal?!

Only for reference (maybe can be added in the first post) I had this problem and I solved it installing the latest Direct-X (included in the DVD).

ok it's getting worse, until egypt i could just delete some .que files after a crash and keep playing. now i have the problem that i can't solve *any* quests. whenever i complete a sidequest or part of the mainquest, it writes faulty .que files. so after every crash i have to delete so many .que files that there is no single solved quest in egypt. it doesn't even have to crash, if i click "save game" and exit normally, it won't load the char either.
what to delete now? ;)

Same problem buddy. Try deleting everything in that folder EXCEPT for the .map file. I'm serious. You can back up everything in the folder just in case. I don't know how this will work. My problem was not being able to receive side quests, I have yet to try to solve one.

No crashes yet (LVL22 Char) but random extreme stuttering or "lag" (singleplayer), very very annoying.
I'm also getting this in SP, although it only started happening last night...
And I'm with Krank on the "hope non-dual core users don't have to wait longer"...
My game crashed after killing the three Medusas. The game crash about once a day, but this time the game refuse to load my character.
I tried all above mentioned, i try do delete ALL .que´s, \fow and so on, but the same thing happens all the time. The game returns immidiately to "login-screen" 1-2 seconds after loading a character.
Is my character screwed, or is there any hope?
Also, developers has to do something about the extremely slow and unresponsible interface.. The framerate needs work too. I got the same low framerate and strange behaviour even when using 800x600 and everything on low..

Dunno buddy. I have to yet to get my character to work... I can receive quests but I can't complete em. And I want my character to be 100% legit, so I don't want to complete all those quests 2x. I'm gonna start it over, but not until the patch hits so this doesn't happen again.

I can actually verify that mashif's method has prevented my game from crashing. So I hereby thank mashif and ask to put this in the main bug solution FAQ. It's stopped my computer from randomly rebooting. Hardware:
Acer Aspire 9504 WSMI
- Intel Pentium M processor 760
2.0 Ghz, 533 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 CACHE
- ATI Mobility Radeon X700 PCI Express with 256 MB RAM (Using Omega drivers for more FPS)
- 1GB DDR2 (support dual channel)
- And the problem itself: Realtek High Definition Audio Card.
Thank you. Please Email me with any further bugs you may have and I will see what I can do.

MY GAME WORKS ON DUAL-CORE!!!
My configuration is :
Pentium D 805 2.66 Dual-Core 2MB Cache
1 GB DDR2 RAM PQI
HIS ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 256MB Ice-Q
Realtek Audio
Thermaltake Butterfly 480W
XP Media Center Edition
First time, I had sooooo mannnny problems with crashing, couse they said TQ not work at dual-cores, Realek audio etc. My game crashed all the time. After installing patch, my game still crashed.
Then I done this:
1) Install game
2) Install patch 1.08
3) Downloaded some "TQ Fix" from http://torrentportal.com/details/585054/TQFIXU2.rar.torrent
4) Install it
5) Run "Titan Quest .exe" in compatibility mode for Win98
I am playing game 6-7 hours, and i didn't have ANY crash.
P.S. If your game crashes, use "Character Recover" program. It works 100%!!!
Sorry 4 bad English, im from SERBIA.

I have a ati radeon 128 mb x300/x550, which is not integrated, and it was able to run the demo and other games such as lotr:battle for middle earth 2, and others. It is giving me a fatal error that I need to upgrade my graphics card!! I was told that if I could run the demo I could run the game itself!! So I bought the game and now it does not work. I have the new catalsyt 6.6 and it does not help! Please help I really like the game alot from the demo and my other friends are playing it!! Please help me!!

what i do is i back up my character by copying it and pasting it in a different folder everytime i exit. if my character crashes and cant access, what i do is copy the three files thats not .que and paste it in the save game folder where it originally is. it works for me, quests are all there, you just loose some of the map area. so far i havent encounterd any problems. hope this helps.

thanx--in view of the number of possible problems, the issue really arises as to whrther the game can really be called of merchantable quality. This is NOT a good advert for the quality of THQ games. I still cannot get the game to run despite the patch and trying many of these ideas {see my earlier thread}. The only commendation goes to those who have made suggestions on what to try for their patience. NOT TO THQ!!!

Well as of last night I was finally able to run the game for a decent amount of time (at least after the patch was fine before that). Problems kept going from bad to worse somehow. At first the menu buttons dissappeared and all in game UI was gone. Not long after that the game simply wouldn't launch any more with a 3D error. I tried another game (Guild Wars) that I had never had any problems with, and it also wouldn't launch due to a 3D error. checked dxdiag and all direct3d was disabled for some unknown reason. I suspected drivers, so I tried an older Forceware driver 84.21 or so. Same results. Wondering if my video card was dead. Recently had to replace my mobo and cpu cause they both went out on me, might have taken out video as well.
I had a spare ATI 9800 card laying around. I put it in there and installed the latest ATI drivers and it worked once but crashed, next attempt gave me the same 3D problems and wouldn't launch the game. So I figure I'd try the Omega drivers. Did that and it finally let me in game long enough to tweak some settings. set everything to "low" that I could and 800 x 600 resolution. that finally let me play the game for an extended period. It felt to me like the card started overheating all of a sudden when playing TQ. Wife and I played on our lan. We did have some lag and porting takes a rediculously long time, but we were finally paying together haha.

No crashes or so for me. But a very irritating graphic glitch ingame. Text becomes boxes (white blurry, looks like squares) and inventory, and all other menus become grey, and sometimes buttons disappear and appear. got radeon 9800 pro. 128mb, latest drivers. seen other people with this problem aswell. Any fix for it? Please post

I have an Athlon 2800+ and a GF 6800LE 128mb with the 84.21 drivers. The game works fine for about a hour in 1024 resolution and setting on medium / high, but after that I will get all kind off graphical glitches, vertex, textures that are missing or comming up really slow and complete blank area's.
I also noticed that the sound stutters allot. This was partly removed with the latest Nforce audio drivers, but still occurs when the game gives the glitches mentioned above.
Note: Most graphical glitches occur in towns. I quit the game and tried Guild Wars and Half-Life 2 for about two or three hours and they didn't gave any problems.

Please remove this stupid VM check. I work on my computer, VM just drives me crazy, making every alt-tab lag.
I might try to have a RAM drive with the pagefile on it but it's SO STUPID to even have to do such a thing to run one game :(

Yeah but I believe their is a way to take off the VM check but I am not entirely sure. Both of our cards are supported, supposidly, but yet of course they do not play!! This is frusturating!! Oh well that is what happens in the gaming industry, do you know anyone who knows how to get rid of the VM check?

I have 2 suggestions.
nForce 4 users: Uninstall the nforce audio driver and nvmixer and try the latest realtek reference driver (version 3.90 for the AC850 - can't remember link but search for it I posted it on here somewhere). This has cured sound stutter for many of us. also the "miles 2d positional" thread may be worth your time for the same issue. if you go for the realtek drivers remember to open the soundmanager it installs and set your speaker settings and run the autoconnect wizard :).
Graphics glitches.
Check your gpu temp and see if it's happening due to overheating. if so, try using triple buffering as for some reason a few of us have found it drops our GPU temps (I have no idea why or on what cards this will occur sorry!). I can only assume it is not working as hard as obvious as that may sound.

Not sure if this fix will help some of you but...
My game was crashing and rebooting my PC every 2-10 mins of playing. I tried many numerous thing from turning down the resolution and all graphics to low, lowering the audio hardware acceleration etc. All to no avail.
Finally I downloaded ATItools (www.techpowerup.com/atitool/) its a free download. And what you do is you underclock your graphics card. Its really easy. Whatever your default is, just lower it by about 5-10 points for both memory and core. (eg. Mine was 360/345 and I lowered it to 320/310). Save and load up Titan.
It works like a charm, I'm able to play about 4+ hours without crashing and even set my resolution at 1024x768 and turn details to medium, although shadows is still set to low.
My system specs:
ASUS A8V DELUXE Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro

CORSAIR XMS 2GB (4 x 512MB)

Basically don't know if anyones tried this but I was having Major Issues with the game 'crashing' on my Athlon XP-M 2500+ @ 2455MHz & 6800GT. What would happen is i'd play for a few minutes maybe a half hour at best and It would shut off my monitor and there would be sound issues like as if the gfx card shut itsself off the game sound would repeat in the background what I did was. I set compatability mode to Windows NT set single processor mode to true and skipcompatibility checks to false. And what can I say....IT'S RUNNING GREAT! :-D I have not had a single crash since I did this and now I Can play past defeating the shaman lol so I don't know if this will apply to everyone but its worked for me and I played for 3 hours for the first time EVER! congrats on the team on this game and hope you can get some of the bugs in this fantastic game sorted out! anyway back to it ;o)

I have a love hate for this game. I love the gameplay and am really enjoying the TQ experience.
I hate the fact that the game crashes WAY too much and corrupts my characters. (twice now).
The latest crashes (BSOD) have happened when I have hit escape to pause the game. Come back five minutes later and its pooched. Is not overheating as its in my basement. Case temps are <30 degrees c. Processor and Videcard temps are well within spec. All my other games run fine. IN THE DAMN PAUSE MENU!!

The game doesn't crash for me in SP but still can't play MP without losing connection. There seems to be almost no effort to fix the MP part of the game. It would be nice if people who can join a MP game with ping greater than 220 would post how they do it. All the games on MP have a ping greater than that for me.

On the first attempt Titan Quest did not install and gave a missing DLL error on "d3dx9_27.dll". There was a dialog that suggested re-installing, and that did the trick. Game works pretty good now. Some issues I see are:
1. Some sounds just stop, while others continue (I have HW accell off)
2. Character just stops (Not sure if it is Faster Hit recovery or a bug. cause when it stops I am getting hit soon after)
3. Game crashed once. Was playing, then boom, back at Windows XP with no more game running.
Still its a great game, and hopefully will get better with each patch. BTW, I am a huge diablo fan, so I'm glad somebody is doing a similar game.
Cheers,
