Onslaught for a caster?

Does Onslaught work well while using a staff?

I'm thinking about making a Caster Champion and Onslaught could help me help my wolves...

Onslaught only increases "Damage" which is modified by Strength. Staves use Fire, Lightning, and Frost damage which is a totally different type of damage, modified by Int.

You can probably charge Onslaught with a staff but you wouldn't get any benefit to it other than the slowing effect of Hamstring and the DR of Ignore Pain.

Not worth it, IMO.

That's called "Total Damage" and only Dream Mastery has that descriptor on a couple of its attacks. There may be equipment or artifacts that give a total damage increase, but we just don't know yet until next Tuesday.
