When I was placing fog I had no black dot and my screen sure didn't look like theres, but that wasn't that big of a problem. My biggest problem was I can't seem to lay inpassable boundries, it should lay them as red and black checkers however nothing happens. I simply try using the tool and nothing happens.
The other problem was when the guide in like tutorial 10 tells me to double click name.map and to add my .lvl's into it I do that and all I get is the path and Ok/Cancel, same thing if I right click and go edit.
The one that bugs me the most is I can't seem to rotate the camera, holding mouse3 in and moving the mosue does nothing cept make the screen flash white once when I click it in. Any other ways to rotate the camera?

Hmm, I don't editor problems anywhere near as serious as these. Rotating works fine for me. Hopefully a dev will address (maybe a video card issue or something?)

I tried reinstalling different drivers and that didn't change it. I have no clue what else it may be since my game and everything else to my knowledge runs fine with no trouble at all.
Hey Kashim,
Not sure what is happening with the impassible terrain tool - we have not seen this issue before. As for tutorial 10 - you no longer need to add level files to the map. We were able to eliminate that step late in the process and we unfortunately neglected to update the ediitor guide.
I am following the steps in the guide as closely as possible, but still my monster doesn't show up in the resources. Any help? I do everything in the Art Manager it says to do. But the new monster won't show up in the resources to add to the map.

Hi Kahshim,
Believe it or not, that black dot is a 'feature'. That dot indicates where the player would theoreticallly be. When you're using the name layer, when that dot passes into a new name area, the cinematic location text will come up, like it does in the game. This was something we found useful during development of TQ.
WRT Tutorial 10, that's our fault. At the very last minute, we streamlined that functionality so that all the .lvl files were automatically added along with the .wrl. During the development process, we had to do it manually. So you guys have it easier than we did!!! At any rate, it was so last minute that the change didn't make into the doc.
Hopefully we'll get an updated guide out, but more importantly, we'll be hanging out on these forums to clear stuff like that up.

Thanks Devs for stating that. I was royally effing up my test mod before I realized that .map thing had been streamlined and that the guides didn't reflect this. Might want to make a sticky post in this mod forum about it, or in the dev digest, until we get a more up to date editor out there.
But seriously, there are lots of us having the no-pass brush issue, what could be causing it?

You are rebuilding your pathing each time, right?
Edit - Oops, I thought you said that it wasn't blocking anything in-game, I didn't realize that it wasn't showing up in the editor.

Yeah, it's not drawing the red and black blocks AT ALL. Very odd. Nothing I press or do seems to work... not even begging Jeebus for help.
So about the adding assets thing, do I just skip that whole step that the quick start guide says then, and just do the others and everything should be fine?
When you click the tool you are getting the brush and options, it just isnt painting?

The path blocking tool should have some form of way to tell where you are painting over. I thought it was supposed to show up as that "checkered board" type of highlight but alas nothing.

Like you click the tool and you have the circle that you get with other painting stuff like always. Except when you left click to actually paint it onto the level nothing happens.

I got no idea why this isn't working. I am messing with stuff running in the background hoping its related to that, but I severely doubt it.
EDIT: I managed to get the mouse3 to work through killing one of my background apps, though no improvement on the impassable boundries.

I'm actually getting the exact same issue as you are. I haven't figured as to why yet. I have also been having tons of unstability and crashing, and I'm not really sure why.
May try re-installing. If you find a fix to this though, post it here. I'm hoping to get this thing working correctly.

Well thats the funny part is my main game has no issues once so ever, only the editor does for me.

ATI cards will not render some of the graphics in the editor, such as the red and black checkerboard for collision.
This is what I was worried about. That is not good... not good at all. I understand this game was made with Nv cards in mind, but dang, I still want all of my features to work. Well, I'll just have to be extra careful placing the No-pass stuff until this issue gets fixed.
Shame though. My 500$ XTX isn't fully supported :(

I guess thats something ATI will need to look into in there next driver update. Maybe Iron Lore can check into it and see if they can't fix it on their end!

That explains why I don't see it only my 256MB X1600 Pro. Darn.

I am doing what I can hoping either I can transfer my mod to my laptop or something when I finish the rest and simply add the borders in then.
I am still annoyed with my waterfall I can't seem to get one to work like an avalanche.

That ATI issue explains it for me as well. Radeon 9800 Pro, here. Well damn. Guess I'd better be careful and try to keep it to cliffs and mountains and the like. What a rip.

Hopefully a aptch will fix it in the editor and not new drivers from ATI.

Yeah, seeing as ATI just released the 6.6 Drivers a few days ago. So, we won't see any new ATI drivers till Mid-late next month. So, hopefully this cn be resolved.
