Best second for Chain Lightning

I was just wondering what other class compliments the -100 chain lightning build. I was storm/earth but after reaching legendary I realized that I needed a class besides earth that can supe up my dps while keep me alive. Right now I'm leaning towards either Spirit or Nature because both seem like they would go along with storm nicely. Thanks in advance! :D

Im fond of defense as secondary actually. Doesnt enhance your offensive but greatly enhance your defense. Also I think str + int based gear makes the best item combo for -100 recharge build. Atm Im able to run 300 cast speed, +4 all skills -100 recharge, -93 energy cost.

Spam shield charge, squall and chain lightning. Paladin with -100 recharge lightning is one of the best defense characters Iv seen and at the same time has fast kill speed against hordes of monsters (not among the fastest against bosses though). With a maxed colossus forms 66 dmg absorption + squall (-45% dmg taken) you hardly take any dmg. Can stand toe to toe against any boss without dying (a hefty 2500hp rally heal spam is quite nice to have too!) including legendary hydra, dragon lich, typhon .. well any boss really.

First of all thanks for your response Prito. I did everything you said, I attained the gear, switched to pally and relocated my attributes. Right now I have atleast -100 in both recharge and energy cost. But my resistances are dreadfully low my peirce for instance is a wimpy -56ish and that obviously won't cut it against a group of minos on a typhon run even with colosus and spamming rally. So I was wondering what you were wearing for legs, torso and arms. My gear is as follows:

-Ferrus Gnossi
-The Lightning mallet you mentioned.
-Huo Quobing helm
-Polaris
-dual Eyes of Horus
-Golden Sheild of Pelaron
-Archmage clasps
-Athenas legs

And I believe thats all, I can post my build if you like but I'm sure I'm missing some key gear. Thanks in advance :D
