Hello everyone,i was waiting and waiting for a game like this since d2:lod!Yeah know it took me some months but i just found out about TQ.Anyway to the point.Like before i like planning everything down to perfection before getting an rpg,and especially have to know if the fun i'll get will be worth it..

Flame me all you want but i actually roleplay in these kind of games :P.After some research im definitely getting defense as one mastery but the question is..warfare or hunting?.The class i wish to create should have:

High DPS
Tanking (not indestructible but ample survivability(sp?))
Able to pvp casters(VERY IMPORTANT)
Crowd control.
I prefer damage instead of attack speed.

As i see it the conqueror suits me more but the warden has 2 "charge" type skills which as said..are essential to pvp casters.(and yes i know there is no "official" pvp)
I also prefer the look of the spears insted of those 1h weapons(pretty dissapointing but it seems there are no 2h weapons in this game?)

Is a spear conqueror a good idea?

Biggest concern about PVP casters is the good ones will have free spells that they can spam indefinitely due to reduced recharge and mana cost. Warfare lets you dual wield clubs and get stuns out of battle standard/triumph and war horn and doom horn, which seems more like crowd control and defense, wheras spear/shield would be your combo of choice with hunting as your sub, damage goes through the roof. Both get Colossus form thanks to defense, so your survivability is assured, as well as Rally if you should choose to take points in it.

As for damage vs attack speed: Unless you get one of those Thorny Mauls and the other legendary weapon that reduces enemy's pierce resist (forget the name :X) you'll proly see way better spike damage (and hell, proly DPS over time too) from the hunter sub.

To pvp a caster you'll need alot of resistance adding equipment which might take away from other usefull things such as +%damage and such. You'd have to farm alot to get the right stuff.

Haven't gotten a good enough character to perticipate in high level PvP but at Medium level I have been having very good luck with a Paladin (Defence+Storm) and I recon it matchs most of those criteria. Couple that with the Storms trees storm numbus for a bit of extra elemental damage (does nimbus apply to the shield damage as well as the weapons?).

Defence has those passive shield skills, and so far I have found shields that do better damage than most of my weapons, with those skills maxed out you will be pulling a shield attack 48% of the time.

Its a fairly good tank with Colosus form, Adrenalin and some of those shield skills and gets a fair amount of health from the defence mastery itself.

The storm tree has the Spell Breaker ability or whatever it is called. Casters kinda need mana to do anything and you can cast the spell faster than they can drink mana potions. It also has the added bonus of resetting all their buffs so it works on other characters as well, no one likes walking into a fight without their buffs and most don't take the time to recaste them when your hammering away. It also has the added ability of killing off the monster casters and healers with the 'feedback' ability.

Crowd Control is quite easy with the a Paladin. Storm has Chainlighting and an area effect orb spell, and defence has area effect melee which is what drew me to the build in the first place.

Can dole out lots of damage at once with the defence tree with more added with numbus and whatever other buffs Storm gives. Charge in for its damage bonus, you get a 48% chance of pulling a shield strike when you get them and then if you have a mace and the stun skill you can back off and do it again.

There are probably other classes that do individual things better but I recon a Paladin fits the general criteria you posted there the best.

Hello again! I got the game and it's a blast,my conqueror is 34 and bashing left and right.I "tried" making a paladin too,but have no idea how to distribute the attr points. My warden is doing pretty ok but i only use him when playin lan with a mate,so i don't know how good he really is,

So the question is mostly for the attr points for a pala (i guess i can have a char just to pvp casters).

Thanks in advance.

I think for a Paladin you should go 2:1 STR/DEX.

I'd probably go 3/1/2 for STR/INT/DEX, but that's just me. :)

Also, Slayers have two charge type attacks too; War Wind and Take Down.
