On Sages, attributes and armor

So I've never played a bow-based character. I looked around and saw that Storm had some cool supporting skills, and the lightning/cold based bows look pretty cool, so I decided to go Sage.

Now that I start, though, I'm not entirely sure what to wear for armor. Intelligence will be my most important "armor" stat, so should I just pump Int and wear caster gear? How much Strength do I really need?

Also, to any experienced Sages, do you value Intelligence or Dexterity as your main damage stat? I'd guess Dex, but who knows?
