Athens catacombs quest problem

I am in Athens, have reached L5 catacombs and have defeated the boss. But I can't speak to the old man, however. Thus, I cannot get past the locked door.

The first time I've defeated the boss, Phaedrus came out but somehow did not speak to me. I've redone it several times over now and I still can't get past. Now, Phaedrus just stands in that small hallway.

According to my quest log, I must talk to the old man, and Kyros back in the city says the same thing.

Is there a way to reset the whole quest (I'm even thinking of starting over with another character...)?

How do you get to Athens? I just defeated the medusas and talked to Timon.

yeeeeess i got the some problem..

the old man doesnt want to speak with me..its exactly like the first poster here told...first time he walked out...but was not able to speak with him and so on..
got 3 lvl 16-18chars thx to this bug...and several millions of money and best equip..but i wanna travel on....

DOES no1 know how to fix this bug?...

hope the first patch will take care of this; it would be really nice if we would not need to start over again;

dude i got 3chars now lvl 16++ because of this bug....i paid 40€ and iam not able to play this game...i didnt want to play a beta game...im not payin anythin for a beta game..can any1 help pls with my problem?...would be nice thx...

I had this same problem at the 3 gorgons in legendary, I could not speak to the quest guy. I used the workaround for corrupted characters that is explained in the sticky (deleting the newest .que files). I kept deleting the newest ones untill I found the one for the main quest, I then repeated the last part of the quest and everything worked.

I recommend backing up the whole SaveData folder before trying anything though.
