Soothsayer Grasshopper Needs Zen Wisdom

Hello all, well I've tried many classes to start with i've played Summoner, Conqueror, Brigand, Conjuror, Oracle, Magician, Juggernaut and i've deleted them all. I recently started as a Wanderer and was amazed how much I liked the wolves. Now i'm Lvl 12 with Maxed Wolves (15), 1 in Regrowth, 4-5 in Heart of Oak, 1 point in maul, and i'm one level from getting my lich. However i'm having just a few problems I need help with.

Like for instance I ran into a Ratman Plague Bearer, how the hell do you make plague stop? Stupid wolves won't stop following me, so keeps going and going... Only way I could figure was unsummon both wolves, wait until plague clears and resummon.

Is there a way to get three wolves other than mastery shrines?

Whats the best gear setup for a soothie? Right now i'm mainly going for +energy/+energy regen

well I can answer a couple of the questions....

I believe the plague prob was corrected in the 1.2 patch. Check this thread for more info

Even in V1.2

you need 18 to get 3 Wolves. I carried 2 sets of gear with me, one for summoning (+ skill stuff), and one for killing.

You can peruse that list and see what sort of stuff is good for soothsayer. You may not ever see some of those items, but you can get a general idea of what to look for.

Lots of good Soothsayer info in this (http://www.titanquest.net/forums/nature/5599-soothsayer-spirit-nature.html) thread. Not to mention, I think it would be a good idea for you to update to v1.2. Even though Ternion sux in v1.2, it still a good idea to update your game.

Hehe yeah i've never seen a purple in my TQ life, some greens, and quite a few blues though. And i'm staying at v1.08 until ironworks fixes their mess. I have to commend them on building the most addictive bugfest ever.

If you are having problems finding epic and legendary items, you might want to consider using TQHades, by TheRaven. It is a .dll hack that modifies the drop %-ages that you have a better chance at finding them. I use it with the settings for +3 items and 3x chance for uniques. I don't know if it is v1.08 compatible or not tho.

Oh, and I will admit that I have modded my database.arz file to fix some of their mess and to improve my own gameplay experience.

Are you playing in normal still? (refering to all of your characters I know your current one is level 12) Have you beaten the game on legendary?

You are using v1.08 and you complain about the game being buggy? Do you not know that the patches were balance AND bug fixes? v1.20 is the most stable yet as the last patch has fixed many of the bugs. Only Batman seems to destroy his computer with skill that baffles the average man.

I might try it as i'm having fun with my Soothie. Lol I can sit there and visually watch as my exp bar fills up :p. I don't know anything about hacking the database.arz like you said, I just know my comp well exceeds the recommended specs and it stutters like George Bush at a spelling bee.

I wouldn't want 3x drop though, maybe 1.5x or 2x, is that an option? I don't in general like to cheat, I currently weild 3 greens and have 1 blue waiting in my TQVault (Pupil's Carved Staff of Fire, Hood of the Magi, and Pupil's Something Padded Wraps of the Pegasus).

Yes i'm still in normal i'm currently in Egypt as I stomped the first telkines @$$ and only lost 1 wolf in the battle which I resummoned :rockon: Yeah I hear 1.20 was less buggy, but also got the nerf bat bad. So it's a toss up between nerfage and buggage, I may end up patching

PS) wanna talk about computer bashage? I remember while playing the original Everquest I got mad and punched my monitor off my desk after some dumbass wiped our entire party. So I was left feeling stupid and computerless until I could afford another :cry:

I would strongly recommend the upgrade. nerfed terrion but it was crazy overpowered. increased the drops by monsters in general. and gave a big boost to melee. So lose some terrion to gain some melee. If you want legendaries though you'll have to play epic and legendary difficulties since they can only drop then.

In Egypt i'm noticing a little better FPS and I think its due to less trees/transparencies. Towards the end of Act I I was stuttering so bad at times the game would pause atleast a second or two per footstep. So far Lich is alright but he's less than I expected, 5 points into him and I still find myself healing him constantly. If he ever gets meleed he dies fast as hell, does he need his synergies in order to be the fabled lich everyone keeps talking about?

Max Wraith Shell and Death Nova and you'll see a difference :) My lich can take 2 cyclops on him and he doesn't lose his hp at all...

Yeah I think i'm gonna have to reroll... with three wolves, lich, MC, and Nymph my lag is so horrible I can barely play the game. I just don't get it, granted the computer i'm playing on is crap compared to a custom built machine, it still far exceeds the minimum and recommended system specs. I have to play 1024x768 Texture/Detail Medium Everything else on Low, V Sync on, Antialiasing off. :knockout: This game comes in Mac too right? Mebbe I should get it for the G5. Or could it be my entire problem is that I don't actually own the game, I mounted the .iso with Daemontools and got a fixed .exe (I like to try before I buy, don't preach ethics to me). Despite being so buggy i'm getting completely addicted to this game, if I could just make up my mind what kinda character I would like to play.

:p Besides all that mess, I've loved playing soothsayer though sometimes I feel like it's just cheap, I mean in Normal the mobs are dead faster than I can shoot one of them with staff. I think i'm gonna try a build that focuses on self, like a defense, warfare, or rogue build. Wish me luck

My machine gets a stutter every so often. When it becomes intolerable, I just save and exit, then pop back in. This clears up all the trash loot and bodies you leave behind so the game doesn't have to keep up with it anymore.

The TQHades hack by TheRaven only effects chest drops, leaving monsters with their default loot tables. But, if you do decide to use it, I STRONGLY reccommend making a back-up of the game.dll file.

Well, if you're addicted I guess it's time to buy the game.
I would advise you to patch up to 1.20 though. Ternion is still very usable and you get a great boost in defence (extra health and att). Moreover in the new patch you can go to a textfile in you My Documents\My Games\TitanQuest folder and turn of the day/nightcycle and turn of shadows. This has really improved my performance and from what I read that of a lot of other people to.

I rerolled warfare and started by maxing Dodge Attack, Dual Weild, and throwing points into Battlerage, War Horn, Onslaught. So far it's been fun even if she is a potion whore. I feel like i've accomplished more because i'm doing it myself and it's more challenging, even if i'm in normal. I got to Sparta at Lvl 6 and farmed Nessus until I hit lvl 8 and got lucky...
