"+15% Lightning Dmg" ...what does that mean: Melee? Spells?

"+15% lightning dmg"...what does that mean?

Does it mean:
A) +15% to Lightning based melee dmg.
B) +15% to Lightning based melee and ranged dmg.
C) +15% to Lightning based magical dmg (ie lighting bolt).
D) All of the above.

Anyone? :confused:

My listed thunderball dmg is certainly not increasing. Perhaps its just a display issue and the actual dmg is increased.

What does +Elemental Dmg do? Spells only?

All of this is really unclear.

The effect applied to both my caster toon w/ a ranged staff as well my warrior w/ melee.

Not sure on the spells tho

Pretty sure it's all of the above. Elemental damage from weapons (melee and ranged), lightning staffs and lightning spells.

As far as I know it means 15% of the damage it deals will be light damage,so mobs with a weakness to this form of damage will suffer.

I read it to mean you do +15% more damage and that damage is of type lightning

This is what I took it to meant as well, but honestly, it can be confusing. It's possible it could be +15% lightning damage with weapons or spells that only DO lightning damage. I hope it's overall tho.

I believe that any lightning damage you do, either from a spell or weapon, will be increased by 15% when you have this weapon equipped. I don't think it adds 15% lightning damage to your attacks unless you already do lightning damage

"+15% lightning damage" increases the lightning damage you do.

This could be:
- Lightning damage from having Storm Nimbus active
- Lightning damage from a lightning staff
- Lightning damage from Thunderball
- Lightning damage from Chain Lightning

... etc etc.

There is no "lightning melee" damage.

The values in the skill window are not altered when you wear a piece of +%damage.

Originally I thought it would mean +15% of base damage, as lightning damage - but after playing around a bit I'm more than certain that it means that any lightning damage that you do (weapons, skills, rings) is amplified by the %.

So if you're a warrior with a lightning mastery as secondary, it will amplify your damage from the Nimbus.
