Harbinger needs help

I played a conquerer to 40, but felt like I wanted more killing power, and wanted to use some handme downs, so I started a Harbinger (also wanted to try out the dream tree), and now that my harbinger is at 40, he doesn't feel as lethal as I would like compared to my conquerer. It could just be that I did something wrong in my build to start and/or there are issues with my gear.

I'll attach shots of gear, primary, and secondary stats. Hopefully I did it right.

Any advice on gear and skills would be helpful. I don't have a farming character, this is only my second so I have no uber gear to tweak him with.

Focus on Battle Standard, Hamstring and Dual Wield (Tumult > Cross Cut > Hew) and you should be all right.

Your attack speed is very low, try get a faster sword to counter one of the maces slow speed or just use 2 swords. harbingers usually have a high attack speed.

So, I went out and picked up two average weapons, and that definitely helped. But now I'm torn again.

Do I keep two average weapons?

Now that the first 3 legendaries found in my new adventure into epic were spinebreakers, or stonebreakers, or whatever that hammer is, do I take the slow attack speed for the ungodly (at least to me right now) damage that they deal per hit?

Do I balance 1 legendary with a fast sword to balance it out to get one small hit and one skull crushing hit?

I'm torn... I do huge hits with two of those hammers? I hit so hard with them, but I can't tell if I'm doing more damage or not because stats show normal hits, but I crit a good amount and passive procs I don't think count into the damage listed on my character sheet.

With dual wield, you have a %chance to perform a dual-wield attack. Every one of those attacks multiplies your damage significantly. The more frequently you get those attacks, the more damage you do. Fast attack weapons are your best bet as a dual-wielder for raw damage output. It won't show up on your DPS, but you'll notice it right away in game.

Also, you've missed a few opportunities, like lucid dream and temporal rift. And since you're dual-wielding, buy out trance of convalescene and try putting just 1 point in trance of empathy, and spend the other 5 in better skills. See how that plays for you.

exactly what munderbunny said, sure the nice big dmg slow weps may look good, but 2 very fast/fast weopens like swords will do alot more dps than the maces

you need to hover around 180-199% Attack speed at all times if possible, harbingers use speed to kill since they can't afford to take alot of hits.
you can use a fast wep and a slow big dmg wep but you still needa use gear to keep your AS up 180+.
