Default (noob) Spellbreaker Progression

Hello all,

From reading the many posts on the topic, I have a very good idea about my first character's build (a spellbreaker). I am level 19, and doing well so far. I guess my question is, although I know where I want to end up, I'm not sure what I should be focusing on right now (I like leveling efficiently ). Here's my current skill situation:

(I was lucky and found a labyrinthine chestpiece that also gives +1 to all Warfare above that which is shown here: )
My skills at level 19

So where should I be spending my points for the next ~10 levels?

Much thanks!

Labyrinthine Armor is such a nice low level Epic for a Warrior.Spellbreaker is such a powerful class if you do the right way,I got suggestions from Poinas when I build my Spellbreaker (finished Legendary & farming SP),I follow his suggestions to concentrate on Warfare mastery first until lvl mid 30s or 40s.Max DW tree,Onslaught,Weapon Training,Ardor. Some points on BS.Warwind for surprise attack (RMB)you can put points in Deathchill Aura if you want.Drop the Lich King for now,as soon as you max the Warfare Mastery then put points into Spirit mastery,Deathchill & its Synergies, then max Lich King tree except for its Arcane Blast.1 point on Death Ward,Outsider. And for attribute points 2:1 for Str vs. Dex.

alrighty, couple of starter things...

Spirit
- unless you have the community patch downloaded, ravages of time WILL NOT WORK. so i would definitely recommend finding and downloading it since it's an excellent skill which will help keep you alive.
- on the rest of the deathchill line, max ravages first once you get the patch, then necrosis, then the base deathchill skill. this will make you able to live much longer with a good life-leeching weapon
- the liche king is going to get steadily weaker as Normal difficulty goes on and isn't really necessary for your build. when he starts becoming so weak that he dies in 1-2 hits and/or can't deal much dmg, take the points out and spend them elsewhere.
- get one point in both spirit ward and spirit bane; you fight a LOT of undead in this game.
- put a point in visions of death if you're getting mobbed by enemies; very helpful crowd-controlling skill

Warfare
- don't bother with crushing blow or counter attack; 1 point in battle rage is all you need from that tree for the massive offensive ability boost. everything else needs a chance to activate WHILE BATTLE RAGE IS ON. so basically you'll almost never see them.
- you might want a point in war wind if you're fighting a lot of enemies.
- on the dual wield tree: put 1 point in each skill, then max it from the top down (ie: in your case, take 1 point out of the base dual wield skill, max tumult once you get it, then max cross cut, etc)
- on battle standard: if you don't get the community patch, triumph won't work. so again...get the community patch
- also, MAX WEAPON TRAINING. you'll get a large DPS boost with the added attack speed.

other than that, looking pretty good so far. personally, i would shoot for something like this by about lv 29. i left a few points to be distributed at your discretion: you could stick 1 point in hamstring (better bosskilling), max ignore pain/dodge attack (survivability), max the onslaught base skill (more damage/bosskilling), or work on necrosis (if you get a lifesteal weapon) as you see fit.

good luck!

Alright, sounds good. I noticed the Liche King was a bit lackluster considering my general level of butt-kickingness as a warrior. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to drop him and pursue more dual-wielding goodness!

Yes, I was very very stoked when that armor dropped!

Thank you for the advice

If you can help it, throw a point here and there to max Liche King. I have mine maxed on my Oracle and he eliminates things before I have much of a chance to get to them myself. He's a bombshell waiting to explode if you get him high enough. Just a thought. Enjoy!

Well, I've been cruising along--It seems like Act 5 is where I've started coming into my own and destroying things fast. I just beat Cerberus and am level 37.

Couple questions as I come to the conclusion of Normal:

1) Is Epic substantially harder than normal hades?
2) Should I farm anywhere in Normal before going on to epic? If so, where?
3) Is it okay to start putting points into the Liche yet?

Thanks again~

1) Epic is easy, very very easy especially the first two acts

2) Probably shouldn't bother to farm normal at all, farm in epic if you need better gear.

3) No idea, haven't played my spellbreaker enough to know the answer

If you intend to go on Liche, then max it immediately, otherwise don't put any points on him. Remember, Max or No Liche.
