Default Weapon Training

Hi all, new to the game and the forums. I started an assassin but damn by level 14 (with some lucky drops) it wasn't even challenging. With Calculated Strike and Poison on I didn't need any other skill, in fact the only other one I used was War Wind (seeing the monsters flying around was too much fun), so needless to say it started to get boring.

I am changing to a Conquerer (war/defense) and I had a question about Weapon Training (the skill). In the description it refers to the skill working with "sword, axe, and club." What I wanted to know is if that included maces? Are they a subclass of clubs and therefore inculded or no?

I did a search but couldn't seem to pin down any info.

EDIT: Forgot to ask if anyone had a link to some good shield using conquerer builds? Would be appreciated, thanks.

Peace,
Ken

It's all weapons except bows and spears (so it doesn't stack with Wood Lore from Hunter) and staffs (but who would want it to?!).

As for builds: Defense alone holds so many good skills that it's actually kinda hard to go really wrong :-P Most important in the beginning is to make a few choices. Adrenaline and Rally are both very good, Shield Charge and batter are both very good, but you can't max all four in Normal (well, it would be somewhat difficult :-P). Choose one of the attacks, choose one of the defensive thingies....And don't forget the passives - the rightmost shield attacks, onslaught and dodge attack...The Conqueror has more of a too-many-good-skills-problem than the opposite (which some other builds have - as in, by level 40, oh no! All my important skills are maxed! Now I'm just wasting points on crap I don't need!)
