Default Low Health

I have spent 6 skill points on health (150 health) and I still have a lot of trouble with hades nightstalkers. They are murder even when I have bloodshield up. 1 is ok but I have had 5 deaths facing nightstalker heros and pairs.

nightstalkers are generally very hard to stay alive against, its not really anything wrong with vampirism...

Their even harder when you have a low life total. I agree they are hard in general. Basicly you need to be able to eat some damage (negative energy pulses + Dual wield). If you cannot take some damage you will die. Vampires have a low life total...(unless they know to take 20 attribute pts in health). Therefore the link between nightstalkers damage and vampire death is true. A guardian with 4000 hp can run away when his life hits half and drink a potion but a vampire will already be at the rebirth fountain!

With leaching abilities and an artifact such as soul shiver a vampire is pretty sturdy actually. Very strong. They suffer against enemies that can do a high burst damage (very high). By epic if you put 20 att in health and invest in some hale jewelry of permanence or such then you can have enough life.

I'm mildly confused... What was the point of your original post? Was there a question in there, cos if so you seem to have answeed it yourself... I certainly didn't ask one...

The same lack of hp can be said about any enemies that deal high levels of damage. Its part of the variety of character classes, the strength of titan quest as a game... You adapt.

Oh I am sorry my point was not clear enough for you. My point was that even in having good gear and spending attribute points on health the nightstalkers are a little too hard for a vampire because a vampire has such low health.

I have played pretty much every single melee character out there and I have never had as much of a problem.

So actually it is a comment and not a question. The comment is vampires die on nightstalkers. Build a vampire and try it.

I guess I am contradicting your argument that it isn't anything about vampirism. In fact it IS. It is low health = death against nightstalker ....(and vampires have low health)

We have put one logical modificator, from a vampire's point of view, to all three ways of the Vampirism mastery, you will see soon...

Not sure what build you are using but I am playing a 49 Myrmidon (Close Combat/Vampirism) right now I'm not quite at epic nightstalkers but I currently have 3194 health and don't remember spending any points on health.

And thats with 24/24 Close Combat/Vampirism.

Personally I found I just have to build around my weaknesses so for that I equip a lot of +health relics and such.

Essence Ankh of Isis can be +185 health and 90% health regen.
Essence Iron will of Ajax can be +145 health and 6% health not to mention the +21% stun resist.

And yes soul shiver helps out a lot here. The +13% Damage converted to health is great.

Yeah bimdi I hear you. I am just expressing that I had a rough spot where I was pulling out my hair. And I had 2 Hecate's Crescents to make due with Alchemy's Illusions cost and a Demon Blood charm to proof vs vitality (nightstalkers). I had an amulet with some to life and maybe some other gear. Anyhow it was 5 deaths to nightstalker pairs and once I wised up a reload when I spotted 2 nightstalker heros pairing up.

But in any case the great creator, pink frog, has heard my prayers. Vamps now get 15% damage absorption in the new version 1.02.

Edit: my error it is damage resistance

Yah i can seriously empathize... I thought I was doing great until I hit Talos (sp?) and the Minotaur at the end of Act 1 Epic. Lol between those 2 i think i racked up about 15-20 deaths. LOL
