which one would you use?

the 2nd staff gives me a dps of 699 and the 1st staff gives me a dps off 325
now im asuming that because the is no damage on the 1st staff and it hase a chance of 3 different attacks then thats why the dps is so low.i cant really tell which does more damage any 1 help here?

i recently found the cromatic staff i chucked it because i realy got annoyd of the low dps it showed on your char screen. But im haveing second thoughts now... But i recently found a lightning sytaff with about:
100-120 lighing dmg
+30% lighning dmg
+15-30 ligning dmg
+15-30 cold dmg
and legendary zeus relic wich i got the random thing to +30% lighning dmg..

Was i wrong to throw away cromatic??

yes......!! Well if you are an elementalist then very very wrong!

well...

Chromatic as a base weapon is significantly better than the second staff. However with the correct relic the second staff could certainly have some advantages. For example both staffs currently have +30% fire damage(or close enough). But you can put a relic in the second staff which gives you a base of +15% fire damage. However the bonus mod on the relic is random and you can get some that add an additional +30% or so fire damage which would give you a hefty boost to your overall damage.

That being said the +56% elemental resistances on the chromatic staff are nothing to scoff at.

Note: If you are a caster then you should completely ignore the DPS displayed on your screen, it is not an accurate reflection of how much damage you do since it is purely based off of your weapon which does not take into account any of your real skills that you will be using.
