Since I don't know if this is difficult or not, even though I would theoretically think it's not, I would like to ask for the damage given by pets on the pet module to be in a different color than the PC's.

Reason: when playing in MP, it seems that the Pet Damage mod thinks that the other players are our "pets". Conclusion: it becomes rather difficult to see who is doing which kind of damage...

If it is just a change on a .dbr file to change the color and not anywhere related to the Pet Mod, do you SoulSeekkor or anyone know where this file would be?

I turn alot of the mods connected to Defiler on and off on a regular basis. If I understand this correctly, when I do this, it is making constant changes to my TQ main .exe file? Is that right?

Is this going to eventually corrupt that file?

It shouldn't - but if it ever does somehow, the files Defiler modifies are tiny and you can easily download replacements. There is a thread here somewhere - search for "original files download."

Or even better, remember this thread because here's the link: http://www.titanquest.net/forums/tec...files+download

It actually modifies (for most mods) only a few bytes in the file...and usually it's the game.dll file, not the game's exe. The Defiler creates a copy of these so that if something does happen you can click the 'Restore' button to restore the backup copies if you'd like.

I've wondered about that. If you have mods a & b, and then you activate mods c & d, does the backup have a & b?

No, as far as I understood, the backup is done only once, at the beginning. The backup is the true original file before any changes. When mods are turned on and off, those few bytes are changed to their modified or original values back on the same .exe or .dll. If you restore, you'll restore the original file before any changes.

Right?

That looks right based on the files' "modified dates." But when I hexedit a file, that doesn't change those dates. It doesn't matter to me (because I have all the originals backed up on a separate drive anyway) but it would be good to know for sure.

Right?
Correct! With it this way you can simply restore the files if something (or you think something) doesn't work right, and then try it mod by mod or just use the ones you know work for you. A couple mods do not work together and a couple (the artifact mods) can crash by nature, and are not infact bugs.

I'm kind of lost here. I just dl'd the defiler v3.42 and increased the drop rate of uniques and amount of drops per chest and went through the "secret dungeon" or whatever. The one you need the little turtle guy to get into. I went through 3 times and none of the times did the chest drop anything. am i doing something wrong? is there something i should know to make the program work?

Hey Master Killer, the chests didn't drop "anything"?!? By this it means that they were completely empty? If yes, that would be a first, never saw something like this happening... it's important I believe for seeing what it happened, that you say exactly what you're getting when opening chests.
