Immortal Throne takes place after the events in Titan Quest, and it's being designed for high-level characters. It doesn't look like you can create a new, first-level character and jump directly into this content, not that you'd want to judging from the high-level monsters inhabiting the early parts of the expansion. Most players will most likely carry over their existing Titan Quest characters to the expansion, though hopefully Iron Lore will include some premade high-level characters so that those who haven't finished the original game yet can jump straight into the new content.

Not to mention that what the heck would be point in jumping straight into IT if you haven't completed the original game yet either...

It's not unknown for expansions to include pre-made characters so you can play the expansion areas without having to do the rest of the game. This'd probably appeal to some who want to try the Dream mastery, but do so in the new expansion portions of the game right from the get-go. I wouldn't do it, but I can see why it'd be something sought after by others.

Right but the flow and progression on games that allow that, such as Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark, is very very different than Titan Quest.

I guess they have nothing to loose if they implant it, not like less ppl would buy the game, $$$$$..

I am currently finishing Normal with a bunch of single-class characters. This will allow me to go straight to the new stuff and select Dream when I get there.
