I only recently started playing this game, and when I installed Immortal Throne I received a message that Levels.arc was broken, I ignored the problem and it installed fine. I imported an existing TQ character into IT, played it through Rhodes, etc. and everything was fine. Went to start again on IT, got to Giza and it crashed to desktop, repeated trials have yielded the same result and reinstalling has not solved the problem and I'm now pretty sure that what I need is the Levels.arc file for IT, is there anyone that could upload it? Apologies if this the reviving a dead thread and for asking someone to upload a ~270MB file.

Thank you very much.
Edit: It worked, so thanks again, I never thought I'd be so relieved to see pyramids, sand and bothersome flying scarabs. Last edited by crtwrght_mrk; 05-13-2009 at 11:03 PM. |

Good <daytime> to you.
While trying to eradicate one annoying issue in TQIT (all sounds except NPC dialogs and music seemed to play at double speed), I, using archivetool.exe, did unpack both Audio\sounds.arc and Addon\Resources\sounds.arc alike. As a result (all of a sudden!) issue disappeared itself (.arc files' dates have been updated to current, so this is understandable)... Hurray? Nope! Instead I've got another trouble, this time gameplay incompatible: damaged UI (missing some of UI textures and - ouch! - character window became uninteractive). That's what I've noticed further: addon's sounds.arc (Addon\Resources\sounds.arc) does content four different .arc files in itself. They are: decorations.arc, monster.arc, skill.arc and UI.ARC. My guess is that this time, with this particular sound.arc, I shouldn't instruct archivetool to unpack files at their corresponding place in game folder structure, as contained UI.arc, being unpacked in Addon\Resources\Xpack folder, may have replaced one that already has been there. I think so because removing this unpacked UI.arc doesn't help. Long story short - here's my request: unfortunately to me, my installation CD was ruined long time ago so I can't check my guess. Please check if there is Addon\Resources\Xpack\UI.arc file originally in game and, if it is, please upload it here. P.S.: sorry for my (I presume) bad English - my native language is C++ I just hope that all above mess is readable...Update: after spending some time reading this forum, now I can surely say: the problem IS with UI textures. Blue and yellow checkers are at top-left corners of quickslot bar and character window textures' positions. Keeping in mind that this begun right after unpacking sound archives and that "UseArchives=true" in options.ini, I really did rewrite UI archive (strange thing it is - I thought that this info is stored in ingameui.arc). BTW, unpacking all UI files didn't help aviod the mess too. Last edited by shred_IC; 08-07-2009 at 06:54 AM. Reason: Issue Update |

Ahhh yesss! That's it! This file really helped. Thanks God and SoulSeekkor.
So, people, BE WARNED: DO NOT EVER extract TQIT sounds (Addon\Resources\sound.arc) right in it's content's corresponding place as such action does replace one of game's vital files, as a result you'll get ruined UI... Still, I wonder how this stuff works while remains packed...
